Chelsea's previous £120m asking price no longer applies (the expectation is it's now higher) and Chelsea will only consider a sale if they feel they can strengthen. Alex Scott and Zubamendi seen as v v difficulty (if not impossible) to do at this stage #cfc

His non-selection last night colours the situation.

Don't get it to be honest. If its a pi$$ing contest they are after, we should go use the Delap and Jackson money and buy Camara anyway. Then tell Pastore to get his arse in gear and get his player shifted cos he can't be guaranteed a place here going forwards.,

All just posturing at the moment. Currently City are desperate for a midfielder and need to cough up some money. If we sign someone first we are the ones that need to sell and lessen our bargaining chips. Leave it too late and we can’t get a replacement so we won’t sell. We don’t want to back down on the £120m deadline so City need to pay more.

Someone needs to break and I think we’re in the better position. Probably why City using dirty tactics to get Enzo and his agent to push the move and eventually pull an Isak.

Bit worried about signing someone from Monaco based on recent dealings with them.

We all saw how Sangaré dog walked spurs on opening day so don't sleep on these prospects! I'd be surprised if Monaco let him go, unless they have a replacement (Essugo perhaps?)

I think we should go for this signing. Better value than the insanely priced English options that ‘aren't for sale’. And this crap about his height (5’8”) I’ve read a few times? Makalele (5’9”) and Kante (5’6”) weren’t 6ft 2 and they weren’t too bad. And people seemed pretty happy with 5’7” Barco last night. Get it done and then worry about Fernandez.

So... Monaco just agreed a deal for some Mexican fellow who plays... DM

They could now be in a position to cash in on Camara. Get it done because Liverpool are desperate for a DM

I would be wary of signing a player from Monaco; our last 3 signings from them Bakayoko, Disasi and Badiashille have been a bust. That €60m would have bought Angelo Stiller 2 weeks ago. Not convinced another 5ft 8” midfielder is the right partner for Caicedo. I’d rather just see if Barco can make the step up this season, and dip into the market in Jan if he can’t cut it. What we don’t need is another project player. The funny thing with Camara is Blue Co actually have Samir El Mourabet at Strasbourg who is a carbon copy, and better still 6ft 1”.

Came here to voice my concerns about our last highly rated CM from Monaco being Bakayoko

If you’ve watched him play and came to the conclusion he’s another Bakayoko, that’s on you I’m afraid.

According to team talk the following from Camaras name sake translates to the deal is all but done and and he will undergo his medical and sign sign between Sunday and Monday. He also states he won't therefore be involved in Monaco match on sunday:

His highlights showed really good stuff. Total package, if he translates that to the Prem, we may have a Fabinho+Kante hybrid

Nah, I’ll go with Zaire Emery. Not a massive name but ticks all of the boxes.

I don’t think the likes of Vitinha and Neves are possible.
