February 2, 201511 yr Don't forget Messi is signing. Ah, that should solve the issue of not having a quality option off the bench.
February 2, 201511 yr Just seems strange that we will allow more players to leave than come in, especially if you include Scwartzer in that as well. Jose has been bemoaning the lack of quality in depth of the squad and so it just seems odd that we'll lessen our options by the end of tomorrow. Right here. ^ My main concern is lack of depth. I'm perfectly fine with Cuadrado coming in especially if Salah is going the other way on loan. That 1-for-1 swap is an upgrade for us and most likely (have not run the numbers) not a bad hit on our FFP situation. However, if we sell Schürrle, the squad is obviously thinner than before. I am good with bringing in some youth, and maybe that is Jose's plan, but it still concerns me and does seem a bit odd.
February 2, 201511 yr We have a big enough squad to compete in the champions league and premier league. No FA cup.
February 2, 201511 yr I have always wondered this. If shurrle goes, who would replace hazard if he gets injured? All those nasty tackles on him gets me worried every time. Does Cudrado play left wing too? I have only seen had m at wc, but don't remember. Edited February 2, 201511 yr by chillz88

Hazard-Oscar-Caudrado Willian-Oscar-Cuadrado (Hazard out) Willian-Fabregas-Cuadrado (Hazard, Oscar out) Willian-Fabregas-Ramires (Hazard, Oscar, Cuadrado out) But to answer your question, he does play left wing also. February 3, 201511 yr Here's a little rumor... Chelsea was one of three clubs that I know of making extension applications with the FA - nothing will happen. D Costa was agreed earlier today but there were additional costs that Chelsea were not interested in. There was nearly a deal for Varane but it seems that the Chelsea representative left early evening astonished by the demands RM were making - Chelsea to match a release clause and pay the tax due and other costs for Laporte - in Spain that is through the roof money. Certainly Varane will be chased in the summer.
February 3, 201511 yr Seen a few reports now suggesting that we are going to be chasing Varane come the summer.
February 3, 201511 yr I've also seen reports of Varane being a target with Jose looking to change up his defense. I think Varane would be a fantastic signing as long as it doesn't lessen Zouma's play time in anyway. I'm a big fan of Kurt & wouldn't mind seeing them both line up alongside each other in a couple seasons time. I don't think we can afford to lose Terry's leadership just yet.
February 3, 201511 yr How good would a Varane-Zouma defensive partnership be. One is physically dominant whilst the other would be the more cultured defender ala Carvalho-Terry partnership. In addition with their ridiculous pace it would allow us to play a really high line and really press teams. We would be a nightmare to play against.
February 3, 201511 yr Zidane was one of the main reasons that Varane was convinced to join Madrid. They (and Zidane in particular) rate him very highly and think he will be the next great defender of our time. It would appear that they are grooming Zidane to be the Madrid manager eventually. Varane recently signed a contract till 2020. In short, I can't see this transfer happening.
February 3, 201511 yr It would be a great partnership also because they're both French. Whether they were playing with Chelsea or France, they would constantly be playing together and gaining more chemistry.
February 7, 201511 yr We are considering bringing back De Bruyne apparently, according to the BBC transfer gossip page. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/31175530 Edited February 7, 201511 yr by Blueblur

February 7, 201511 yr Where would he fit in though? We only have 4 attacking midfielders, for those 3 positions. I would prefer him to oscar personally. scores another 2 today. Probably won't happen anyway and it isn't an area we desperately need to spend big money on, but nevertheless, i'd love to see him make a matic style return.

Fair point, he is banging them in at the moment. And Oscar is very hot and cold. But I always think it's embarrassing when we sell a player, watch them do really well elsewhere and then have to buy them back at an inflated price.

Yeah it is a little embarrassing, but if he is the right man then I would hope embarrassment wouldnt stop us. he is the in form player in the Bundesliga at the moment, I think he will end up at a prem rival next season.
February 7, 201511 yr Bring De Bruyne back for 25m and sell Oscar to PSG for 50m. Good business it will be. Nah all in all Oscar is povital for us in our play if he doesn't play and we bring another creative #10 like De Bruyne Cesc wouldn't be allowed as much as freedom as he's getting now because of Oscar, Oscar just not only a playmaker he's more like a CM inter swapping with Cesc.. February 8, 201511 yr Never should have sold De Bruyne in the first place. He did want to leave though.
