March 9, 201511 yr Wallace and Mceachran have been relegated to the bench last 7-8 games if I'm not mistaken. Josh was already there for the most part, but Wallace has lost his place. Without them, Vitesse have had 6 or 7 wins on the bounce, ending in an away draw last game. Bertrand Traore been playing up front centrally and scoring quite frequently. I watch Vitesse now and then and Traore looks absolutely class at times. They are playing him as a striker though.Wallace indeed lost his place and rightly so. Mceachran gets subbed on now and then but he doesn't really influence games. Probably the reason why he isn't starting any.
March 9, 201511 yr Ibrahimovic says he regrets only getting to work with Mourinho for one season. Would Shed Enders take him for a year or two years should Drogba retire at the end of the season? Ibrahimovic will be 34 in October.

He's got fabulous skills and scores some screaming goals and this is what people want to see, however I think the team as a whole would suffer because he is a bit of a luxury.

I have no idea if he would come and play 2nd fiddle to Costa but I imagine he would make a pretty good back up. Like Drogba he has a good physical presence and would be a good player to have to call on if you need to chase or see out a game. He'd be good for 10+ goals a season I would imagine too. No chance of it happening but thought he would be quite a good player to replace the Drog for the short term.
March 9, 201511 yr No. He'd be on a fortune and with FFP we can't be paying those kind of wages to guys who are bit part players. He can earn a fortune at teams like PSG and no doubt in other money daft clubs, he's not going to come here for peanuts. Edited March 9, 201511 yr by Chelsbear

He can earn a fortune at teams like PSG and no doubt in other money daft clubs, he's not going to come here for peanuts. At this stage though would be expect loads of money. Considering the number of high transfers he has been involved in Id imagine he would be in the top 5 of the amount of money he has made in the game and at 34 he couldn't expect top dollar. Maybe he'd see it as a personnel challenge to win another title in another league.

It was purely a hypothetical in the sense of, would he be a good replacement for Drogba, not really worrying about the logistics of FFP. For what it is worth, considering you'd have removed Drogba's wages from the wage bill and with the new TV deal and shirt sponsorship I think the club could afford the wages for a top quality player even if they are back up.

For what it is worth, considering you'd have removed Drogba's wages from the wage bill and with the new TV deal and shirt sponsorship I think the club could afford the wages for a top quality player even if they are back up. We would be far better placed to spend the money on a top quality player who can command a first team place. The likes of Oscar, Willian and possibly Cuardrado (not seen enough of him) have places that IMO are not nailed on like the other players. I don't think it would Interest Ibra in anycase right enough as he does not seem the type to take second place, he will be the type who demands first team football and with Costa here that just wouldn't happen IMO. He can still go to his pick of clubs from around the world and be a first team pick, I think he values that more than money going by his personality.

March 9, 201511 yr Signing Ibrahimovic would be so dumb...but I'd love to see it happen lol. Like Chelsbear, I can't see him and Costa coexisting and his wages are too high for a 2nd striker. He's already said that his next stop will likely be a league down though (probably MLS as he'll be able to keep crazy wages).
March 29, 201511 yr What's this about Adebayor? Rumours he is a possible target as a Drogba replacement. Wouldn't want, but with Mourinho having taken him on loan previously I wouldn't be shocked if there is something in this.

March 29, 201511 yr Would prefer Ibra, but as Drogs replacement would (reluctantly) seem to make sense. His contract expires at the end of the season so would be available on a free transfer. Edited March 29, 201511 yr by the special one
March 29, 201511 yr If ibrahimovic signed he would expect first choice over Costa, not really a good idea.
March 29, 201511 yr Dread the thought of Adebayor, he's work shy and just generally a hassle, been problems with him at every club he's played for, no thank you. Much prefer to see Bamfordinho, got a better work rate and would probably score more goals too. Other random rumours I've seen are us linked with Alex Song for £10m
March 29, 201511 yr Alex Song could be a decent buy. If he doesn't mind not being first choice he'd be good cover with plenty of PL experience and hopefully in his prime. £10m isn't too bad either.
March 29, 201511 yr This time last year I would have said no to Song but since I've seen him put in some decent performances for West Ham I'd be open for him as a squad player.
March 29, 201511 yr Spending £10m+ on "squad players" is the reason none of our youth ever get a game. A "hell no" from me.
March 30, 201511 yr Would love Ross Barkley in a three main midfield with Fabregad and Matic. I think the papers will link us to him but whether we're actually interested is a different story. I'm not sure of his injury record but from memory it isn't great.
March 30, 201511 yr Barkley is a little to inconsistant Imo and isn't a lot different from Oscar not terribly creative just bundles of energy and good on the ball.
March 30, 201511 yr The papers were quoting an absolutely laughable £50m for Barkley. This is the sort of thing Man City will do.
March 30, 201511 yr This is the sort of thing Man City will do. I don't think they can actually afford to take a risk like that right now
March 30, 201511 yr The papers were quoting an absolutely laughable £50m for Barkley. I'd have him but not for that sort of money especially as he isn't an upgrade on any of the current starting XI. For that sort of money I would rather we went all in on Pogba or Bale.
