Flasher, leaving match of the days finest hansen and lawrenson in his wake!!! A few years later he was being chased on the pitch by a fan, when wearing a Sunderland shirt!!

Ah, the game against Sunderland. I heard a story a few days after the game that in the players' bar afterwards Speedie punched Walker.

Funny that sunderland game,if I was to name the Chelsea games I had been to over the years and what ones left the biggest memories good or bad, that would be up there, maybe I was just impresionable 15 year old at the time, but the bridge and outside that night!!! Only those who were there will know

I was in the ground at 5pm, never seen anything like it before or since, Leeds, Spurs, W Ham, Millwall.....you name it, nothing like the shenanigans that night. Everything seems a bit "sterile" now doesn't it?

Ah indeed to memories of the Sunderland game ,but can you lovely lot help with Scotts picture above showing Bonetti making a save, who are we playing as for the life of me I can't figure out what ground that is ,is it Villa park and that is the Holte end? Thanks in advance

I think its St.Andrews against Birmingham. Home teams often wore their change kit at home in cup ties in those days.

I'm with Peckham on this one, and if my memory of late 60s/early 70s sticker albums serves me well I think the Brum player is Fred Pickering.

Ah cheers chaps, that had me baffled.....I never realised St Andrews has such a big stand....ps Fred Pickering eh ,when players had proper blooming names ,no Fred Pickerings playing these days !

I was in the west stand that night for the sunderlandg game and a group called Azect camera being escorted around the ground before kick off

Even then you could feel the atmosphere in thea air that if we lose it was going to kick off

Then you had the west ham ambush after the game on they way back from Wimbledon

Great post Mike Carefree! - I remember going to that match when I lived near Woolwich, walked through the tunnel under the Thames and all the way to Upton Park, which wasn't far for a fit 18 year old at that time! I wore my blue & white scarf, stood on the terrace of the south bank and was lucky to come home unscathed ! Come on you Blues !

I shall be attending Chelsea v Bristol Rovers on Tuesday. Few beers before the match ....usual !
