The footage from the 'away game at Goodison in March 1986.

Sunday, 16th March 1986 at 14:35.

1-1. Murphy scoring for us in the 12th minute.

30,145 were at the game.

Was this shown live on tv ? Honestly can't remember !

I think the game was live on TV. I do remember watching a game between us and Everton at about that time. Strange the things we remember.

great pictures - after the cr*p last night I always avoid all other threads and head straight here for my fix of CFC  … thank you to all that post such great pictures ,I especially love the Cardiff away ones ,just one mad day. I actually went on my own and remember being a tad dubious before hand but I need not have worried as CFC had the full compliment of mad men out

The game was on itv. I was in the seats above the terrace. Great following, train windows got smashed coming out of Edge Hill after the game.

Cardiff 84 kicked off everywhere that day me and my pals were on the terraces. On the stand to our left Cardiff got a terrible spanking they ended up standing with their backs to the wall like a group of naughty schoolboys

Don’t understand if they are Cardiff. The open end is Chelsea. I was in the seats at the side with the terrace in front again that was all Chelsea. This picture is taken from the covered home end which Chelsea entered and cleared about 20 minutes from the end

They are Chelsea on the pitch. The only end Chelsea weren't in as I recall was the stand on the right

1 May 1977 LWT - The Big Match: Chelsea behind the scenes

Some footage behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge before a Chelsea league game in 1977. (Hull City which we won 4-0)

Skipper Ray Wilkins can be seen discussing with manager Eddie McCreadie.

I know I've posted this before, but I think its worth posting again.

Brian Moore says that this was filmed before the game against Sheffield United.  If so, is there any footage of the actual match - have never been able to find it.

Yes - it was on the Big Match, and featured Ray Wilkins' best ever goal for us:

Thanks for posting Backbiter, I've not seen this compilation before.  Managed to spot the goal against Sheff Utd too!

Interesting clip 13:30-13:40 with Hoddle saying they were room sharing on England duty when Hoddle was 18. Ray was 19 and Hoddle was blown away by his football knowledge given there was just a year between them.

Ray Wilkins seemed to live and breathe football throughout his life.  I've wondered why his younger brother Steven never made it as a pro, given that Ray said he was more skillful than himself?  I would have though that, coming from such a close knit family, Steven would have had the same ethos to apply himself and make the most of his talent, which is what Graham appeared to do - although of course his resources were more limited!

I was at that game horrible day in a terrible season. The wooden fencing was pre hooligan days not sure what year it was changed.

I was there too although pretty young at the time. If I remember correctly our fans got most of the blame for the trouble in the press. Yet from all the pictures I have seen it seemed to be the Spuds fans ripping down fences etc. Their fans rarely, if ever, got any criticism in the press. Nothing much changes I guess.

Reminds me of me and my brother.

My brother was very skilful and played for Kent county as a kid yet I was a work horse with less skill yet faster and stronger. Unfortunately I had too many injures so had to stop, kind of how I came to follow Chelsea and eventually dragged him along. After seeing one match he says, 'sh*t I could have done better than that, why did I stop playing!'

That was in early 90's.
