December 29, 201411 yr Did anyone get and new games for christmas? I got the new COD game, The Crew and Watchdogs. COD isnt bad, the crew isnt really my type of game. Its only racing. Havent played Watchdogs yet.
December 29, 201411 yr I liked Watchdogs but it's a typical Ubisoft game - fast travel, chests, trailing someone, towers etc. All very familiar. Still a decent game though.
December 29, 201411 yr I got Advanced Warfare. It seems decent, haven't played it much but it's a lot better than Ghosts. I've also just started Far Cry 4 which seems good. Everything is really similar to Far Cry 3 with just a few changes. Looks good so far.
December 29, 201411 yr Thoughts on Far Cry 4 in comparison to Far Cry 3 so far. Pros: - The graphics are better, it looks far more realistic. - When you set a waypoint the mini-map lets you know the quickest way of getting there using roads. - Huge map with plenty to do. - The Karma system. - Fortresses. Outposts in Far Cry 3 seemed very similar to each other and fortresses changes things round a bit. - Menu layout. It's far better having everything useful on the same page as the map and leaving the "start" menu for options/controls and quitting etc. Cons: - Driving. The new driving controls are awful so I had to change them back to the standard using R to move, rather than just a joystick. - "Out of bounds. Please turn around." I like exploring straight away and the fact that you couldn't explore the map at all till a few missions in was annoying. I don't mind the North bit being locked for a while, as the South Island was in Far Cry 3 but you could barely get anywhere till a few missions in. 4/5 so far.

Can't believe you haven't mentioned the animals yet! So much more ferocious. I agree with all your points though. They clearly addressed the weaknesses of FC3 and directly improved on them. Ridden an elephant yet? Edited December 30, 201411 yr by Blueblur

They clearly addressed the weaknesses of FC3 and directly improved on them. Ridden an elephant yet? Yeah the animals are great and a lot more realistic. There weren't really many vicious animals on land in Far Cry 3 apart from big cats. The ostrich things were hilariously tame. I've already had a few animals attack me in Far Cry 4 which keeps me on my toes when exploring. Yep, riding an elephant was fun, took out several outposts with the same one! December 30, 201411 yr I'm really failing to get into it. Don't understand why as everyone else says it's great.
December 30, 201411 yr I'm really failing to get into it. Don't understand why as everyone else says it's great. Keep going. I did as well after I was blown away by Far Cry 3 but stuck at it and I'm really getting into it.
December 30, 201411 yr Well, I enjoyed the first episode of the Game of Thrones (telltale) game. Not too happy with some of my decision making though. Is that this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Game-of-Thrones-Xbox-360/dp/B007SG5P90/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419972943&sr=8-1&keywords=game+of+thrones+xbox+360 ? Has anyone played the Game of Thrones video game? Any good? Love the TV series and wondering whether to get this.
December 31, 201411 yr No, that's an older game (not very good either). It's this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_of_Thrones_(2014_video_game) I bought it on steam, but apparently it can be found on consoles too (like the walking dead games)
December 31, 201411 yr Had a chance to play Far cry for a few hours now and am loving it, loads to do huge map and even the online is a laugh.
January 2, 201511 yr Bagged AC: Unity from Simply Games for £23. Won't get better than that! Despite the controversial reception it received, I look forward to playing it.

Had a look on there, seems that you only get the serial key for the game and not the actual game CD itself. Doesn't Xbox still have thing where you need to have the CD in the tray in order to play your downloaded games? Apart from arcade games that is.

From what I can see, I definitely ordered the game cd itself, for the PS4.
January 3, 201511 yr Doesn't Xbox still have thing where you need to have the CD in the tray in order to play your downloaded games? Apart from arcade games that is. If you download the game with a series key then you don't need a CD to play. What is annoying is that when you buy a game with a CD you still need the disc even when you install it!
January 3, 201511 yr If you download the game with a series key then you don't need a CD to play. What is annoying is that when you buy a game with a CD you still need the disc even when you install it! Ah right, in that case why don't more people just do that instead? Understandable why they did it like that though, people used to install games and distribute it freely amongst friends and such. Others would buy a brand new game, install it and sell it back as a brand new game.
January 3, 201511 yr Strangely the games are more expensive digitally, which is a joke. The ones I've downloaded though I've been able to get cheaper due to ms points, buying £50 codes for £42 or so etc.
January 3, 201511 yr Started playing this really old game I used to play called Tibia. Forgot how addicting it was.
January 3, 201511 yr Patietntly waiting for Sony to release a bloody F1 game. My mate works for Codemasters and he's currently working on the F1 game. He reckons it's looking really good and it's gonna be mega. He wouldn't tell me when it would be released though.
