Anthem is taking a bit of a pasting by the critics and anyone who got early access.

Apparently the game is really really dull and repetitive and has excessively long loading screens that you constantly encounter.

February hasn't been a great month for games, Apex Legends, a free to play game, has been one of the best received with games like Far Cry New Dawn being met with a bit of a shrug of the shoulders too.

Not making me want to go out and buy anything new right now... Though March is looking more promising with Sekiro, Devil May Cry and The Division 2 coming out.

I expected nothing special from Anthem, and the reason is EA. I haven't bought a single game published by EA since FIFA 13. I can't see them ever releasing anything that changes my mind about them. I was a big fan of the first Mirror's Edge and I have always been a massive fan of The Sims series, but I didn't bother with Mirror's Edge Catalyst or The Sims 4.

I remember the day it was revealed that they got their hands on the license to publish Star Wars games. I said at the time it was a terrible match, and they have proven me right. It's Star Wars, how the hell do you get Star Wars so wrong?

EA ruin everything they touch, I think it's worse than ever with them.

They cancelled the single player Star Wars game, 3113 I think it was called and it was being directed by the woman who’d worked on the Uncharted games. The preview of it looked really cool... then they release two battlefront games that have been sh*t.

Like you say, it’s Star Wars, how do you f**k it up? Just give me a lightsaber and force powers and let me run around wrecking stuff.

Ubisoft aren’t far behind them.

Ubisoft still manage to keep putting out good games even if they’re getting bogged down with micro-transactions.

Rainbow Six Siege has gone from being a rather dull and average online FPS game to being one of the best tactical shooters.

The Division was fun, Watchdogs 2 was surprisingly fun too!

Every Ubisoft game is the same. They’ve managed to sh*t out another Far Cry within a few months of the last one which will be the same.

Assassins Creed; every one is the same or they completely change it for the worse. I haven’t enjoyed on since Black Flag.

Ghost Recon etc. all the same format. Fetch and carry missions, aimless travelling missions, collectables etc. just shoved in willynilly to pad out the game because the quicker they get it out the quicker they get their money.

I prefer smaller studios not attached to big publishers like EA/Ubisoft. You can feel the love for what they’ve been creating when you play their games.

I'm currently in the epilogue of RDR2 but finding little motivation to finish the game off- things have ground to a halt story-wise.

I'm doing another play-through of Skyrim on my Switch. It's so nice to be able to just curl up into a ball on the sofa and play it hand-held.

I'm dying to play the Link's Awakening re-release on Switch. That was the second game I bought for my first console- the Game Boy Color- and I adored it. It looks fantastic.

Couldn't agree more with this. I completed it for the sake of completing it but the story is so slow in the epilogue.

Go play Fortnite instead, all the little, annoying, screeching 12 year olds are on Apex Legends now.

I gave up on RDR2, same as I always give up on GTA games as they just go so boringly samey. Having a blast with Metro Exodus at the moment.

I'm level 8 or something on Apex. Yet to actually get a kill.

Hit an enemy multiple times for prolonged periods of time, they turn around and down me in what feels like 2 bullets. My apex experience.

The number of times I've ended up being in one of the final two or three squads without having killed anyone is ridiculous.

I keep seeing people's profiles before a match starts and they've got 1000 kills in the game and I just think... How?

I'm about level 23 I think and I reckon I've got maybe 100 kills to my name.

Anyone getting Division 2? Looks pretty good. Quite enjoyed the first one so hopefully it will be even better.

Will keep an eye on reviews and will probably pick it up if it’s not awful. Quite enjoyed the first one.

I've won PUBG solo games while only getting one kill lol

Like others have said, I am struggling with Red Dead now. Great game but it’s too long. I’m on chapter 4 and finding it repetitive. Already had a game break but feel guilty for shelving it.

I managed to get to 100% in game but f**k me that was a chore. I might go for the platinum trophy at some point but that means playing online too.

Indeed, the pacing tails off rapidly after chapter 4. Chapters 5 and 6 are a real slog and don't even get me started on the Epilogue, which has multiple parts.

I WILL finish it though. Overall however, I think I preferred the first Red Dead game.
