Wolv Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Crespo Shevchenko Torres Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mod Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 What do we get for a right answer? Surely 'Best buy' would of been more appropriate and a little less negative! Also, Torres is still a current player, how can his whole Chelsea career be marked on 10/11 months with not that much game time within it. I'd say go pour yourself a drink, make a cup of tea or whatever, and enjoy new years eve without pondering so much on it. Sent from a device using 2 Yoghurt pots and string.
Wolv Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 Well 50 mill and you still can't fire after 12 months you have to start asking questions. I'm not trying to be negative I'm just trying to be rational the bloke does not fit into the current style of the team. But maybe I'm just upset after a loss to villa and I am already a few good drinks down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Arq Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 If Torres were the only problem with the squad at the moment, I'm sure the "fix" would be very easy. We need to form our identity then get the players that fit AVB's system. Until that happens, it's tough to pinpoint only one player as an issue.
The Moos Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 To put Crespo on that list is just plain wrong. Not only did he score quite a lot of goals but he also did his absolute best here even though he really missed Italy. Will always have my respect for that.
youlots Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Sent from a device using 2 Yoghurt pots and string. Lovely.
Keiron Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Crespo was amazing for us, that goal against wigan in last minute i will never forget
mad_mac Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 No way can Crespo be in that st, and Torres is still here.
Castiel Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Sent from a device using 2 Yoghurt pots and string. Jesus, that was beautiful.

Eight Times Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I always liked Crespo. Torres is the worse, 50 million is crazy.
Katon Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 We didn't get our money's worth out of Crespo because his family never settled in England, but he had two seasons (Claudio's last and Jose's second) where he was a genuinely good player for us. No idea what he's doing in this conversation; I'd argue he wasn't even the worst striker signing that year, given the way Mutu turned out. Torres for me - more expensive than Sheva and hasn't done anything to match the FA Cup goal against Spuds or the CL quarterfinal tap-in against Valencia.
Maksimov Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I'd even go as far as to say that Crespo's been one of the best strikers we've had during the Roman era. Obviously Drogba is in a class of his own, mind you, but Crespo's definitely in the top three, right after Drogba and Anelka. If his family had managed to settle in England, I'm sure he'd been awesome for us.
Ben Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Crespo was a good player for us, just couldn't settle in London.
charierre Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Crespo was class, his movement was outstanding
erskblue Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Still think Chris Sutton was far worse than the three players mentioned.
mclovin83 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 What a negative and generally weak thread. Torres still potentially has 3 or 4 years to play & be rated upon and Crespo was quality so its all a bit weird in my opinion.....
Chelsea100%Carefree Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 What an awful negative topic to discuss when were all here to get behind the squad we love , Chelsea fans like you need to bugger off.
Ben Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Crespo was a decent player for us. Torres, because of his price tag.
Spiller86 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Our worst buy for me is Yuri Zhirkov. He played about 20 games for us in two years and cost 18m + wages. At least Torres gets on the pitch.
Phillip Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Yeah, but didn't we get a big chunk of that money back when we sold Zhirkov to that Russian team?
fishCFC Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) sh*t Crespo??? the Hernan variety... who scored 300 goals in 18 seasons, who banged in 20 goals from 49 Chels appearances and, still playing in India, has become the most expensive player in the recent NFL inspired player auction. Well if that's sh*t I'll have two pints of it Edited February 5, 2012 by fishCFC
