Road to the final..

Featured Replies

Torres' goal was one of my favourite ever Chelsea moments tbh

Ramires goal was 'ruined' by my still being tense until Nando popped up

Branislav had me going mad in my uni library, I then had to apologise to the confused international students (there was actually some Napoli fans there aswell!)

Just spent an hour watching yt videos from our CL run, and Ramires goal is by far the favorite moment for me

2-0 down, JT sent off, we havent had a sniff at goal . . . out of nowhere comes Rami, leaves barcelona players in the dust and makes Valdez look like a chump (hes not far from it though) . . . the stadium goes absolutely dead silent, making me think the ref stopped the play before the goal . . . but no, that peach of a goal stands and gives our players a tremendous amount of hope which i felt a number of them lost

It has to be Torres for me, think I went into cardiac arrest for a few seconds when I realised he was unmarked. I had been so tense and nervous and wouldn't dare to believe we would win until the final whistle and that was just a dream moment. Saying that being in the shed end when branna hammered that goal into the roof of the net v napoli was very special.

I have a few but Ramires goal against Barcelona for me, we were 2-0 down, down to 10 men and he did a finish like that, just incredible.

Others include Meirless goal against Benfica, the whole comeback against Napoli, Torres goal (UNBELIEVABLE) and beating Barcelona 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, I went crazy when Drogba scored.

I would say Torres cause I stuck £50 on him scoring and I won big bucks but really it has to be Ramires. Comes out of nowhere and I was expecting him to buckle under the pressure but he scores a lovely chip that even Messi himself would be proud of.

My favourite moment en route to the final is Rambo's goal.

As stated before, 2-0 down and not a sniff of goal. Lamps threads an excellent through ball that Ramires chips sublimely over Valdes into the back of the net.

If there was no hope at 2-0 down and down to 10-men, that goal instantly gave us hope. Torres' goal was the one that put the realisation in my head that we're going to the final. Until that point, my fingernails were taking a serious beating.

Ramires' one was most decisive in hindsight, but the pragmatist in me (being against Barca) was excited for 5 seconds and then thought "f**k there's still ages left"

The elation, relief, excitement, it not falling to a better person, realisation of what it meant and complete silence in the pub as Nando rounded Valdes means for me Torres' goal >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Ramires' goal was undoubtedly the most important goal - we were pretty much out of the tie when he sprinted the entire length of the pitch to score that beautiful chip, but we were still a man down, we still had a very makeshift defence, and we were still playing against a fantastic team that had a ridiculous amount of possession.

Torres' goal on the other hand was all about the sense of relief, having been absolutely battered and stuck in our own half for 50 minutes, the feeling when he scored that goal was just amazing, knowing that we'd actually done it. Amazing.

Ramires' goal is something Messi would be proud of, in fact, if it was him who lobbed the keeper first time we'd hear about it for weeks. Considering the circumstances... utterly utterly brilliant. Looking back it wans't my 'favourite' part though because after cheering I didn't exactly go into over-drive because of the situation. The Napoli second leg game was my favourte - typical European night at Stamford Bridge.

Agree, and what about Super Franks pass to set up the goal... again if that was Iniesta or Xavi to Messi the pundits would be still messing themselves.

Torres goal at the Nou Camp without doubt. I honestly have never been so tense watching a game and untill he put that one away I just couldn't believe we were going to do it, I ws convinced Iniesta or some other Barca slag was going to pop up and snatch a late winner to goal to take them through.

I jumped around the room and almost broke my ankle whilst doing it. The dog also almost sh*t himself and ran out the room in shock.

Up there with any Chelsea moment of my life.

Has to be Torres against Barcelona, had been getting so much abuse/stick about how crap he is and how he's a "50m Flop" but I kept saying to them, you'll see you'll see. I have never cheered so much in my whole life, ran into my friend's garden and all sorts.

Ramires was up there as well but I didn't cheer it much as I thought it would only be a respect goal.

March 4th - AVB getting sacked. Up to that point we had no right even dreaming of making the last 8.

Best goal - Fernando v Barc. Absolute joy and relief for what it meant and also for what he had been through.

Glad so many agree with Torres , Ramires goal was the most important really and best, taking nothing away from him.

But there wasn't one of us sitting waiting for them too score again , so the Torres goa was the biggest sense of relief ever and I've never went so mad for a goal in my life!! and i was also so happy for him he deserved it!

:D

The torres goal brought out emotion that I never knew I had in me. It was like I lost control of my body!

The ramires goal was brilliant but after 5 seconds i was brought down to earth knowing we had to survive another 45 minutes. I don't think even the most anti torres fan could say that goal meant nothing. That goal was the first time I started to dream of winning the champions league and it will be remembered for a very very long time!
