Shed pensioner, a complete idiot eh. Well If my opinion on Torres makes me that then oh well, I can live with it.

I have my views on Torres. Like I have said before I was backing him hoping he would come good but this whole situation this season is part due to the fact that he is not willing to fight tooth and nail to adapt his game and improve himself.

Rafa is here for that sole purpose. If Torres himself does not have that desire to improve then not even God would be able to help him. As a fan I contribute to his wages so I am more than entitled to my view on him just like you are. To say I should be banned is in a way like the Roman Empire. Those with a voice against the regime should be kicked off.. Well like I said if you wish to start your own forum and only those who agree with you and do not bad mouth the club in anyway then do that but to suggest I should be banned is a bit pathetic!

I don't think JJ_Blue is a complete idiot. But I do think he's missing the target. Many have asked why the anti-interim protests aren't aimed directly at Abramovich (which misses the point and is another argument so let's leave it at that for now), but there is a far better case, I believe, for redirecting the antagonism directed at Torres towards those responsible for the decision to buy him in the first place.

The board. Gourlay, Buck, Emenalo et al. Highly paid execs who thought it was a good idea to pay a record fee for a striker who had clearly been out of sorts for some time. And of course towards Abramovich for sanctioning the deal. Torres isn't some demon. He's on over the hill, overpriced, overpaid footballer. He was going nowhere at Anfield and I believe he genuinely thought that a move to Stamford Bridge would help revive his ailing career. As we all know now, this hasn't worked out. Yet he continues to get picked.

Again this is down to the board and the buying policy that saw us start the season with only two recognised strikers, Torres and Sturridge, about whom the jury was still out. And while Sturridge was either injured and/or had decided he wanted out, and before the signing of Ba, Robbie and then the Interim had little choice but to select Torres.

Ok I know there's been a lot of talk about pressure from Abramovich to play Torres come what may, but this wasn't the case when Drogba was still here, which again lends weight to the argument that the lack of strikers left very little option but to continually play Torres. None of this is actually Torres's fault.

I don't think Hazard_A_Guess is an idiot either. I just think he's consumed by far too much hatred than can possibly be good for him.

I respect your posts and your opinion Tommy, the opinions of Shedpensioner and Bluehatter mean nothing to me, Bluehatter strikes me as a Liverpool fan who has came here because he likes Torres and I just can't take Shedpensioner seriously based on his previous posts.

You make some good points and as I've acknowledged it is not Torres's fault we paid 50M for him or offered him such an inflated wage that is the clubs hierarchy which has prior history of making somewhat astonishing decisions. What is the fault of our Spanish "friend" is what he does on the pitch, I can forgive him for being below the standards expected of him as I've never rated him anyway. I've always thought of him as an average player with a poor first touch but one with good movement off the ball, ehat I can't forgive him for is his lack of effort on the pitch. He doesn't play for the shirt. He doesn't play for the fans. He doesn't try to earn his money. If I could see Torres trying hard every game I'd have much less reason to criticise him, instead I often see a player sulking his way through games and expecting his team mates to carry him. He was the only striker at the club until Ba came in

(Sturridge was often injured and didn't get much of a look in anyway) so he should have been the one to step up.

Torres has also led to a huge change in the playing staff with players such as Hazard, Mata, Oscar and Marin coming in to assist him. All fine players in their own right in particular the first 3 but they've been brought in to get the best put of Nando. He hasn't performed.

Drogba, Kalou and Anelka have all made way for him to be the main striker. It was argued that he could only perform at his peak when he had no competition and felt assured of starting. He hasn't performed.

Ancelotti who in my opinion is the best full time manager we've had since Mourinho was sacked because he couldn't get the best out of him and Di Matteo who was a good up and coming manager also felt the axe as a result of not getting Torres firing. These things are not only Torres's fault but Romans as well.

We've got the FSW mainly because of Torres and he still doesn't give a f**k. I can't accept this and can't see a way for the club to move on while this joke is here.

I'm not blinded by Hatred but maybe I am by passion and it hurts to see my passion not being replicated by our record signing.

I've not called for you to be banned, I've said if I were a mod comments like 'he's a cancer' would not be tolerated.

Nor do I not enjoy a good debate, what you are doing is not debating opinion, you are being nasty for the sake of it, you are bringing nothing to any debate on the player, you are just making statements.

That was one of the most sensible posts you've made on the player in your time on the forum.

You gave reasons for your arguement, and didn't make stupid remarks in order to get likes from other posters, if you carried on like that I'd have no problem with you.

This forum is all about opinions and yes we all have different ones, I will agree with certain people about some things yet disagree with them about others.

My point being opinion is fine, making statements to try to make yourself look big and clever usually fail, and some of those statements have gone too far in recent times!

If you want to direct anger and hate at any people in this club i'd suggest the following, Bruce Buck, Ron Gourley, Michael Emelano and the Fat Interim Waiter.

Fernando Torres would be somewhere near the bottom of my list to hate when it comes to the problems in this club!

if I were a moderator those that did such a thing would no longer be welcome to post on here!

Is that not insinuating that I should be banned for using the term 'cancer'?

I added my views on Torres, if I feel Torres is a cancerous problem that is hindering the team then I am more than within my rights to say so. Just because your offended by that does not bother me at all because it is my opinion, that's right MY OPINION.

Don't be offended by an opinion because that is all it is. I'm not going round Chelsea yelling this out I am on a football forum which is invented to air your views with fellow fans.

Personally i dont think what the lad said was so awful. Sure it wasnt the most pleasant analogy but i feel it was more a comment on the influence the player has had on the club rather than a personal attack on the player himself. Maybe im way off, i dont know.

Either way, Ive noticed a few people calling for this thread to be locked. May i be the first to say that i think its VERY important that does not happen.

In fact i would suggest this thread contains everything needed for a healthy forum discussion. Agreements. Disagreements. Humor. Controversy. Longevity.

Ive been on these forums (in their many forms!) for 16 years now and not once have i seen a thread closed because a few people didnt like what was being said. If this thread turned into a personal slanging match with lots of agressive personal attacks then yes, but closing a thread because a few people have requested it because they are unhappy with the tone of a post or two ? Hmmmm....

I guess, what im saying is if this thread is closed the forum becomes pointless. If you dont like the thread, dont read it. Let alone post on it!!

I don't know for certain, but I can only guess anyone who refers to a player as a 'cancer' has never had the 'pleasure' of sitting in a small room waiting for a team of experts to come in & tell you the results of tests on a loved one.

I think anyone who's had that experience will know what I mean.

Alan I have has close friends and family be diagnosed with cancer and I know 2 people who has passed from cancer.. Just because I used the term cancerous DOES NOT mean I am using it offensively.

I will use a definition of the term cancerous for you and highlight what I mean when I use the term - a malignant growth

This is how I view the attitude Torres has adopted and the fact that the club got rid of Didier in order to meet Torres' demands to be número uno at the club in the striker role.. We have lost our CL winning manager because of his inability to perform.

Now over the period of a few months I believe this malignant growth is causing a lot of harm amongst the squad and the fans.. Like Cancer once removed people can move on and enjoy life again!!

Sadly I have been through that experience and I'm sure many of us here have too.

I've already stated I think he was making a comment on the situation that surrounds the player rather than an attack on the player himself. Could been worded nicer for sure but it is not the worst thing I've read on here - not by a long shot.

In that respect I'm assuming those so outraged with this have also complained when thoroughly unpleasant things are said about Liverpool and Man Utd players? Anton Ferdinand? Liverpool fans. Spurs. Clattenberg. Certain members of the media.

Search the forum. There's plenty of it.

Or doesn't it work like that?

Or watched a loved 1 slowly and painfully die from it.

If you can't see that you are using it offensively, then I pity you!

I think you'll find that most have not gone as low as to call any of these people cancerous or any other life threatening illness.

We may be abusive towards certain other teams players or managers, refs etc, but not to that extreme!

Pity away... I have explained my use of the word I'm sure 99% of people on here will know where I'm coming from but maybe you are incapable of doing so.

The fact everyone can see this thread and see Chelsea fans 'attacking' their own player is bad enough.

There are players who I have not been fond of in the ast but while they wear the shirt and represent the club then it's not much to ak to be civil to them.

Some posters on here cannot discuss anything on here without smarmy little digs about Torres in subjects that do not even include that player which to me is vey suspect of so called supporters.

As soon as you say this though then you are just a 'fanboy' even though throughout this season saying we need a new No 9.

If it takes some people to be nasty little cretins to make themselves feel better on here then so be it but I think it's a disgusting attitude to have and I'm glad the blues I surround myself with are far better people.

I'm a nasty little cretin for voicing my opinion?

I'm not saying it to be big or clever saying it how I see it. If I don't feel a player is worthy of being at my club I'm not going kiss his arse just because he plays for my club..

All the blues I go to games with or go down the pub to watch games with know that Torres is not the answer for us, but none of them are abusive about him in conversation, in fact we say what a shame it is that its worked out this way.

I actually wouldn't be so sure of that! Ive seen some pretty amazing things said over the years! But anyway...

He has explained what he meant by the term and whilst I maintain it wasn't the greatest statement its clear it wasn't meant to be interpreted the way some have - I would suggest everyone moves on now.

Apologies for getting caught up in this and involving myself.

I have not seen you're posts so I cannot comment on that.

I myself do not think he is the right player for us and we should look to move him on but at he same time I'm not about to start calling him playground names on the the Internet so other posters will like my posts.

I am the same but you can't see my point.

I wanted him to succeed but it hasn't worked out, fine. My issue is that he is not trying, he is causing problems amongst our club along with others that are hindering our season.

All I'm saying is the sooner he is out the better because FSW will follow!

Alan I have has close friends and family be diagnosed with cancer and I know 2 people who has passed from cancer.. Just because I used the term cancerous DOES NOT mean I am using it offensively.

Ok, If you want to persist with the disease analogy, how about viewing Torres as a symptom with the board as the actual cause of the illness? If Torres is the "growth" then the root cause remains. And that cause is the board that made the decision to sign Torres, the same board who decided it was time to replace Robbie with the interim, and the same board who were happy for us to start the season with only two recognised strikers, off-form Torres and unproven Sturridge.

You claim the club got rid of Didier. It's my understanding that Drogba had already decided it was time to move on after the Champions League Final. This statement of yours of "Torres' demands to be numero uno" is sheer fabrication. You're also blaming Robbie's sacking on Torres. The board sacked Robbie, the same board that appointed the interim. My belief is that they did so simply because Benitez is a bigger name. It's not as if they haven't got previous for this. Scolari was appointed by Gourlay's predecessor for much the same reason.

Have you read Gourlay's "message" from the QPR match programme? The scary thing is that he might actually believe it. These are the kind of lunatics we've got running the asylum. But it's easier to blame Torres, right? Torres continues to be selected, Torres continues to disappoint. Robbie was shamefully disposed of, and the man they chose to replace him added a massive amount of insult to injury.

And this is all goes back to the decisions made by the board.

RFC_CFC I am most definitely not after praise for my posts I am simply adding my opinion to the thread. If I believe something then I will air that view on a forum which associates itself with my club.

If I disagree with a point by someone I will engage in debate and give my views. Some people obviously take comments too seriously on an Internet forum.

All the blues I go to games with or go down the pub to watch games with know that Torres is not the answer for us, but none of them are abusive about him in conversation, in fact we say what a shame it is that its worked out this way.

Same mate.

Even at the local watching the game it's nothing like what we see on here, the only time I heard anything like this was when I was on the tube next to spuds fans having a go which is what you would expect.

The whole appointment of FSW has a lot to answer for regarding the level of hate that has seriously gone up on this topic.
