We are talking strictly wages here:

1) Eto'o

2) Ibra

3) Rooney

4) Yaya

5) Kun

6) Drogba

7) Torres

8) Conca(some Brazilian playing in China)

9) Messi

10) Cronaldo

Looking at that link, the money Eto is earning is obscene.

Also,  its utterley hillarious that Torres earns more than Messi and Ronaldo. Tragic ,even.

Oh, and who the f**k is Conca!!?

You could argue that a lot of those players above Messi and Ronaldo should not be earning as much as those two, though. Yaya Toure? For real?

Realistically looking at the Yaya transfer - he came from Barcelona was integral for that team, what type of wage do you think it will take for a guy to leave Barca behind to join a club like City(who at the time hadn't won a trophy; weren't playing in the CL).

I think he is actually one of the few City players who actually warranty the type of wage he is getting, just as important as anyone else you can name in that team.

Messi's on a new contract giving him 16M a year. Also shouldn't Terry be on that list if he has a clause in his contract making him equal earner with the highest paid player at the club?

.

Torres during his successful period was a player who latched onto through balls, that was his stock in trade, I would suspect that when he was discussing coming here he asked who would be providing those chances for him, and I would also suspect that the club outlined just who would provide those chances and how the team would be set up for him, I mean they had just made him the most expensive signing in British football, why would thay not look to create a team to pander to his assests?

.

On this point. I have seen a very high number of through balls which have been played into Torres' run where, the old Torres would have run on and the end product would have been a goal, his awful touch or his inability to sprint has meant he f**ks up by losing the ball.

He is the single reason as to why so much emphasis is on Hazard, Oscar and Mata to get goals and create.

They have created so many chances for this lazy c**t and nigh on every single time the play breaks down around him.

He reminds me a bit of Berbatov and his attitude except for me Berbatov has the ability to turn on when he wants.

Torres is finished. He has lost his pace over the first few yards when he would have left defenders for dead and he has not got the ability nor confidence to control a ball without losing it.

I backed him when fans were slagging him off but my patience has well and truely worn. His lack of passion, interest and ability for £50m and after we the fans stuck by him when he was struggling is a disgrace.

The sooner he goes the sooner we can get back to being a title challenging team. With him we will continue to be average with top class players because he is a hindrance.

The sooner FSW follows him out the door along with those 2 puppets Gourlay and Buck then the club as a whole may get back to being somewhat normal again.

Torres is finished no doubts about that!!!

I never thought he should get much credit for that barca goal, he had the freedom of the nou camp ffs...let's be honest when he ran through on valdes we all thought he was going to fcuk it up somehow and part of the celebration was not just cos chelsea were through, it was amazement he'd actually scored it

That was it exactly - I thought he was going to f**k up and I was so relieved when he didn't.  I am of the camp that kept hoping he was going to come good but have finally lost faith,

2 Times best player of the Brazilian Serie A, was bought by a chinese club who apparently saw the chance to get a good player (and glamour) to their club / league and paid him a lot of money. wikilink

Wages yes. What ends up in the players pocket no. We know the spanish taxing compared to the system in england. Messi gets more money than Torres but you are right. Nando shouldn't be near that list.

Well Alice looked pretty subdued on the bench today.  Ba scoring two goals probably didn't help Alice's fragile confidence.  In fairness to Alice, if we are to make comparisons between Alice and Ba, then surely we must consider previous posts that Alice can only score against lowly opposition.  That being said Southampton can hardly be called a top team and if Alice would have played and scored two today we would be saying that 'well it was only Southampton of course he should score'....so should the same be said for Ba?   How much credit do we give Ba today, or do we wait to pass judgment when he comes up against a quality side, just like we have with Alice?   Personally I thought Ba was always in the box ready to pounce, whereas Alice recently would have been seen either out wide or on the edge of the box and there lies the difference.

I don't think Nando would have been in the right place into score any of the goals Ba scored today, it is only Southampton but then again we lost to QPR. Ba will score against better opposition if given the chance and as far as debuts go I think we should all be pleased with his Contribution.

I wonder how the Chinese club would react to a Torres for Conca swap?

Do we have to call him Alice and Ladyboy on a Chelsea forum? Hes our player for f**k sake and even if we all hope Ba will start from now on its just childish and something you would expect other set of fans call him, not his OWN.

I will continue to support the lad as long as he wears our colours and certainly wont call him Alice, ever.

I totally agree.

The way he plays he is not our player. He does more for the opposition that he does for us.

Alice is an adhering name, its a name close to my heart......and he's always in Wonderland.  Adhering names such as 'Chopper' 'Cat' and others are common place.  And any player wearing a CFC shirt always gets  my support...(despite how bad as he has been) until he leaves. He will be criticized when he plays poorly and get my praise when he plays well, as will any other player.  For 50 mill and at 175k per week I expect more than what we've seen.  If you wish to settle for mediocrity, then good for you....your probably not alone.

Must've been a joy for our players to have played with a centre forward that moves today. And it was great to see a Chelsea team with XI men again.

Suspect it was grim viewing for blondie on the bench and let's hope it stays that way.

Yep.

Some people seem to think that if they call him 'Alice' 38 times within a single post it suddenly makes it funny.

Obviously a divisive player, but today it was refreshing to see these things from Ba

1) He stayed more central

2) He didn't try to dribble the ball, and thus

3) Didn't lose possession as much

4) Ba actually followed shots on goal in to the area expecting a spill, or at least put the pressure on the keeper.
