I said what is being said now last season and again in the summer but got nothing but abuse on here for it.

Although i didnt realise how bad he would be win Torres joined i knew he was going down hill as a player.

Im sure if he scores a goal or two at the weekend there will be people on here saying he is back and it was just a slump he was going through again.

Do we all think it's time for him to move on, probably, but unlike some I bear him no malice, it's not his fault the fee was so high and it was up to the club to pay him what he asked for, they could have said no but they didn't they thought they were buying the best striker in the world at the time, not realising that he didn't fit into the team.

I dont bear any malice towards him either. He has tried, and in past games he has worked his but off, even if it was futile. Now he just seems to have bottomed out.

I dont blame him though. Torres is a symbol, just like Benitez, is a symbol. Getting mad at them only takes you so far until you ask "wait, why are they even here?" This is the price of an owner who believes he can run things and whose authority supersedes that of his managers, his club employees, and everyone else.

Torres is here though many (or most) of us knew he was a spent force who was constantly getting injured at Liverpool. He was brought here anyway. Personally, I wish he would just retire and shove off, but that wont happen.

Its Roman's mess and Roman should figure out how to clean it up and move on, preferably without anyone else losing their job. Except maybe Benitez.

You say give the money to the new manager to spend but how much do you really think we can sell Torres for?

I think it will be another Sheva or Crespo job where we loan him out until his contract is up. Maybe just maybe if the deal were to happen we could include him in a deal for Falcao but there are two problems, 1) i dont think we will sign Falcao now and 2) if we did i doubt Torres would take such a big pay cut.

Thats the problem we have made for ourselves over the years. Buying player and paying them well over the odds in wages and then not being able to off load them because no one will match the salary that we pay them.

We've held onto him long enough that everyone knows he is completely useless at the top level.

The only solution is to get shot of him completely, for no fee, because nobody is going to pay it. He is Roman's pet project, so Roman should have to pay for his mistake.

Its not that simple to just let Torres go. IF we realised him we would have to pay off his contract which i would think will have another 2 years on it and at 175k a week, thats a lot of money.

We have made big signings before and when it hasn't worked out we have moved them on.

We have made several managerial appointments spending millions on securing their services, paying their wages and then their subsequent compensation package before Roman has decided they were not good enough for the job and moved them on.

So I'm not quite sure why it's taking Roman so long to realize that Torres has been a very expensive and a very painful mistake. We had 5 strikers at the club this time last year. Against QPR we only had Torres with all the others being told that they were surplus to requirements. So we've kept a striker on massive wages with a woeful scoring record for us at the expense of all the others.

It just doesn't make sense.

It's time the club stopped being taken for mugs and took a hard line for once in their lives.

It all starts with the man at the top. The current state of affairs is entirely his creation. Fans at war with the club, a team that is sliding down the table week after week. When AVB is above us in the table and QPR are beating us at home, the whole football world is rightfully laughing at us.

One of the things that bothers me the most about this club is wondering what could have been. What if the temperament of our owner was different? What if he wasnt so vain or so jealous of personal adulation.

If he had just spent the money and moved aside, what kind of feared dynasty would we have right now? Instead of the blue circus where there is a new scandal or folly every other week.

Its alot of money, but considering what has already been wasted it doesnt seem like much more does it?

:face_palm:

I want to vomit when I see this guy on tv.

If he's on 175k per week, with about 2.5 years lef ton his contract, that's £22,750,000. Could have bought someone like RVP for the money it would cost to cancel his contract.

Problem is we would have to spend say 20 million to cancel the contract and then another 30+ million to sign a new striker.

The only thing we could do is tell him he has no chance of playing for us and we are giving the number 9 shirt to someone else who will play so its time to go and find yourself another club. Im pretty sure at his age he wouldnt go and train with the under 21's like Flo did.

The major problem is getting Roman to agree to this.

Unfortunately, if you say that you would get sacked prior to arriving at the press conference.

It would have been worth it, just to have that face-to-face chat ..

"Here Nando. I want a word."

"What is it Boss."

"You can call me Boss."

"I just did."

"Good."

"What is it?"

"I want to talk about your performances."

"What about them?"

"They're sh*t."

"Who says?"

"Everyone apart from wasteoftime and Redhatter."

"I see."

"It's over Nando. We're tired of it. We're letting you go."

"Where?"

"Anywhere. Anywhere that will have you."

"Barcelona?"

"I don't think so, Nando."

"Read Madrid?"

"Unlikely."

"Inter? PSG? Bayern Munich?"

"How can I break this to you Nando?"

"Break what?"

"We've found a club in Cambodia. They say they're willing to take you on. On a trial basis."

"Cambodia?"

"Cambodia."

"Which club in Cambodia?"

"Awaaaa Fwaaaaa Phoeey Woeey Boeey Chaaaaaaaaaa FC. They're a decent side."

"I won't know anyone there."

"You'll know Malouda."

"Malouda? He never passes me the ball."

"We've removed his brain and he now says he'll pass to you."

"He's had a lobotomy?"

"That's right. Heck if Redhatter and wasteoftime can have one so can he. So long Nando. It's been fun."

"Has it?"

"Not really. I lied. Now f**k off. Peter Reid will be waiting to pick you up at the airport .."

Davey being richly informed in all things 'Cam', including Cambodian football, I happen to know that there is no team called "Awaaaa Fwaaaaa Phoeey Woeey Boeey Chaaaaaaaaaa FC".

For that reason, and that reason alone, I have to doubt that the story you told is factual.

The thing that was most concerning was his movement. It was so bad I have to wonder what is going through his head. I remember one attack in the second half where Oscar was breaking with pace in a genuinely promising attack. It was just Torres up with him and instead of making a diagonal run into the box leaving the defence unsure who to stick with he ran closer to Oscar, almost away from goal ending up running paralell with Oscar just a yard or two away from him meaning that the potential pass to Torres was pointless and there was a gaping hole in the box with nobody there. It seemed everyone in the entire stadium knew where Torres should have been apart from Torres himself.

Remember that myself, it was a good opportunity squandered, reminiscent of the last minute in the Everton game, his run though was one that suggested he didnt want the ball.

Roman must know someone in Russia with a poison tipped brolly.

When I was reading this I found myself reading it in the voices of the Zlatan video that was once on here.

My view was from the Matthew Harding as well so I probably saw the attack unfolding as well or better than if I had been watching on TV, there was so much space in the box just asking to be ran into to provide an outlet for Oscar, therefore causing problems amongst the QPR defenders who were alreday sprinting back towards their own goal. It was one of the few occasions when they were genuinely stretched and all out of position (due to them rarely venturing into our half) and a proper counter attacking oppertunity that forwards should thrive on and Torres ran into the one bit of space that was already being occupied by Oscar meaning he offered nothing to the attack, no outlet and there was nobody to get on the end of a cross/pass that more likely than not would have been a goal scoring oppertunity. I just can't quite get my head round what he was thinking he was providing to Oscar by doing that.

This saga has gone on long enough.  Why doesn't the club put this poor boy out his misery, he came, he saw, he tried, he stunk the joint out....now move him outta here before the damage to the club and his career becomes irreparable, simultaneously fire the 'interim' before he can get his feet firmly planted under the managers desk.  Please, please expedite my request because I am quickly running out of drugs to keep me awake so I don't have to keep having these nightmares. :beg:  :greysweat:

The simple answer is Roman doesnt want to be wrong. Torres was Romans signing and he has done everything he can to get Torres going but its clear to everyone that it just cant be done.

I'm afraid the time has come for positive action from us, the fans ... before this enigma destroys this Club ...

Fine margins win games and every single time Torrid dons a CFC shirt he 100% ain't the answer ...

I will personally applaud the 1st ...

F**K OFF TORRES ... !!!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

banner I see at the Bridge ... I'm afraid if Roman can't see what the whole Country can see it's now come to this ...

Even the Torres 'love fest' fans have now surely had enough too ... u can't keep defending the undefendable.

Get this ladyboy twat out of our Club ... Personally, I cannot stand the site of him.

7th Best Paid Player in the World - there is only one Fernando.

:face_palm:

7th best? I honestly thought he'd be higher than that, who's above him?

Ronaldo, Messi... Rooney? Probably some PSG/Anzi players I guess
