Not at all. He will still play his part til the end of the season. Just as he did in a bit part role last season with the goal at the nou camp and winning the corner that created Drogba's goal in Munich. Far far too many fans on here jump down his throat when the team plays poorly. It's boring as hell why dont we just create another 10 threads for each player tonight and rant at them as the rest of them were sh*te tonight and not for the first time.

FFS, he been here 2 full seasons now and winning a corner is what we have to brag about. 175k a week, 50 million pounds. f**k me

Torres has the habit of missing 1 or 2 guilt edge chances a game, and for a striker of his (past and supposed) pedigree it's not good enough.

Torres has lost his composure in front of goal, that chance tonight when he blasted at Cesar proves it, I'd imagine Sturridge would have done the same because he's like a baby elephant in the box.

Had Feruz been in positions like that I'd imagine he would have slotted it away, the club needs to start blooding raw talent like that instead of shipping them off on loan. Imagine we had Lukaku in the box tonight, he would have slaughtered Ryan Nelsen.

The fact he has played pretty much every game and never given a rest may be an excuse for the lack of movement etc but i still expect him to be putting chances like the one he had 2nd half away! He does need a couple of games rest but if he is still as sh*te as he was tonight even then it's game over!

We have to play him every game because if we have a second striker in the team he sulks and goes into his shell, doesn't care if we win, cries to the media.

In the whole final third we were poor today thats not all down to him.

The key difference is that at moments in the match Oscar, Moses and Marin all did good things, whereas Torres was his usual apathetic self.

No will, no fight.

Top strikers keep defenders on their toes, because they only need a moment, because they can come alive at any minute, because there will always come a time when they impact upon a game, even if it's not going their way.

Top strikers. Not Torres.

Get this guy out of Chelsea. His attitude stinks.

It's not his fault the price, or whatever. i'm saying is he has played his part down the line not as much as we'd hoped for but that is life. Blame the owners for that sh*t man, not the player its not as if hes not trying or sulking constantly. He won't sulk at Ba's emergence he knows he needs someone to come in and take some of the pressure off him!

Please don't get me wrong, I am making no excuses for a performance like that tonight I am simply saying he has played literally every game and it shows! Get ba in the team but he also won't be able to play every game so we are going to need both of them!

Everybody jumps down Nando's neck when we lose/or don't win. I'm not saying he played well today and i am not going to say he's setting the league alive so far. But I don't think we can so easily say "chelsea didnt win cause of torres lets get on the forum and have a pop at him" rather than account any of the other 10 on the pitch. In the whole final third we were poor today thats not all down to him.

The center forward is the fulcrum of the attack. Whilst it's certainly true that he can't function optimally without proper service, all the players behind him will not function optimally if he's not doing his job. If I asked you what the biggest problem with our attack was, and you answered honestly, you'd have to say Torres. The other players deserve a share of the blame, but Torres is the biggest offender by far. He's the most expensive player on the team and yet he's also the worst. We've invested tens of millions of pounds into overhauling the team in order to get him firing and he still can't do the job he's paid to do. This is unacceptable. If any other player were as consistently poor as Torres, they'd get the same amount of grief. In fact, it's quite possible they'd get more. Torres got a free ride for far longer than he deserved and for far longer than any of his teammates would have. It stands to reason that the backlash, now that it's unavoidable, would be so severe. It isn't undeserved.

Youre angry mate i can tell so don't be afraid to go outside and maybe even kick a lampost if you feel like it. He's started more games than anyone in our squad and up until this week he's been practically our only centre forward thats. He's f**ked he needs a rest and getting Ba in will give him that chance and also take some of the flack off him.

I don't care if he's played 90 minutes every day for the past 20 years. He doesn't need to be running about all the time. Even if he is tired it doesn't excuse his inability to even do the basics as a striker - hang on the shoulder of the last defender and make a run. Instead he's running to the wings all the time. He is sh*te. And its not poor form. He is a terrible striker.

On the day we sign Ba, you'd think Torres would show a bit of appetite for the fight.

Not a bit of it.

We had a monster in Drogba. I'm afraid this boy is a little mouse.

Mate, are you on medication?

I think im gonna need it when I go to bed after this. Obviously things aren't going as well for nando as we would have hoped but everyone on here is too quick to use him as a scapegoat is my only point especially in his circumstances. The club was stupid in not investing in another forward. None of them are football experts or whatever and Nando has started and played more or less 90 minutes in every game. Look at Van Persie and Aguero they are two of the best and with playing the same amount of games as us pretty much they have benefited over rotating their strikers. I'm not going to talk technical aspects of the game like where his positioning should be and bla bla. He obviously knows what he is doing because he scored sh*t loads of goals at liverpool so its not like we spent money on someone who has no clue. Right now it is not working. I can see that but we have now hopefully another forward in so he will get a run of games in and hopefully Torres can benefit and find his magic touch again. He has scored 13/14 goals this season in all comps to be fair (please dont talk about the opposition) Jeeeeez

I've only seen the highlights so I can't give a proper review, but the worst part of his play was not reacting when the ball came to him at a corner!

The save from Cesar was very good goal keeping 1 of the first things goalies are taught is in situations like that make yourself as big as possible & that's what Cesar did!

It might be in the match thread & not in this 1, but why is Torres being blamed for this defeat? I mean unlike Moses he didn't miss an open goal!

Very unfortunate result tonight against a team which the bookies had at 14-1 to win.

A striker is expected to give the rest of the team some confidence that he will score if the ball is fed to him.

RVP and Suarez are currently doing the business for their respective teams and Ba is the third highest scorer following these two.

Hopefully he gets an opportunity because he looks like a useful player.

He's tired now.

Excuse #347.

I wonder what possible aspect of the game FSW will use to try to praise Torres. Maybe something like he is the fastest when it comes to tying up his shoe laces.

There is always a f**king excuse for why Torres is sh*t. Tiredness is just the latest

Nobody would pass to him

Drogba was too scary

We play too slow

Not enough flair player

All we do is lump it forward

Robbie didn't let hug him for an hour before the penalty shootout in munich

The managers didn't speak his native language

He isn't getting enough games

He is getting too many games

Its the price tag

The 6 yard tap in was actually only a semi half chance

Maybe he is just f**king sh*t

Moses at Wigan's highest goal tally is 6 goals for an entire season, he has performed above expectations for the messily fee we paid and the small wages he is on, there are games where he has been at the center of all the danger we have created. So after  6 months blaming a youth player for failing to do what your veteran/top paid/first choice striker should be doing on a regular basis to relieve his team mates from having to bail him out on numerous occasions is frankly pathetic.

Did you miss that match at Old Trafford?

I'll tell you what, if Moses fluffs and scuffs every chance for 2 years we'll get on his case. Ok?

Ah the old price tag argument!

He's a professional footballer, it was an open goal from 3 yards, it's 1 of the main reasons we didn't win!

Instead of just throwing your hate around look at what really happened!

I think thats only fair :)

No I remember the game at old Trafford but I think you'll find I was talking about tonight's game!
