Lets face it, hes just not good enough to lead the line of this group of world class players

Just like the FSW is not good enough to manage them

For a man who has made a very large amount of money in Gas and Oil, Abramovich  is a clueless c##t when it comes to football

Ah the old price tag argument!

He's a professional footballer, it was an open goal from 3 yards, it's 1 of the main reasons we didn't win!

Instead of just throwing your hate around look at what really happened!

I didn't bring in the price tag you did sweetheart, I've said that Torres is top paid(175k p/w); Veteran(over 5 seasons at top level with many big games over that time); First Choice(not that he deserves that privilege based on his two years here)

Fact is that it took Torres eight months to score a goal that won us points - that was against Swansea. Moses already scored some winners for us in a fraction of the minutes that it took Torres to do that same feat.

have a day off mate

My point was that although Torres did not (understatement) have a good game, he also didn't miss an open goal, if he had I would agree with all the anger, but he didn't another player did!

He cant miss an open goal if he doesn't bother making any runs in the box.

Just walk about out wide and let somebody else take the responsibility , why not

If Torres had one bad game no one would be on his case. But he has a bad game every single game. He is sh*t and deserves all the criticism coming his way. And, unlike Moses, he wasn't even putting himself in the positions to get goals.

so was he crap against Sunderland? Arsenal? Villa? Newcastle?

It's much easier to list the names of games in which he wasn't crap cause there is only a hand full of them.

I don't think that the forum would allow me to post a list of the games where he was a passenger cause it would take up too many characters.

aha! so youre admitting he wasnt crap in all of the games this season?

To be fair i could name more but don't want the level of opposition business

Edited by Sweddy

Keep telling yourselves he's sh*t every game & you never know it might come true!

He's not sh*t every game, but when he's bad it's very bad!

He's also had good games, but football is all about current form, as things stand his form is poor!

I'm going to give up on this thread though & leave it to the haters, enjoy the bile!

Have I said he was crap in all our games, not really - what I've said is the fact that our board made him our automatic first choice is a joke which should be leading to all their sackings. Torres is about QPR's level, that would be a good team for him where they would be happy with his 4 good performances in 2 years.

Moses looked dangerous at times tonight. Not his best game but he was far superior to Torres. Why are people bringing Moses into the debate? Torres was apathetic and uninspiring and lethargic and atrocious, i.e. he was the same Torres we have seen for 2 years. Moses is new to the top level, he is a relative rookie, he has been an unqualified success this season. People bringing Moses into the debate really do need their heads examined.

Davey, I wasn't digging Moses out, I was pointing out that an open goal was missed (could have been anyone) but still the blame goes on Torres, I just don't get why he shoulders the blame for every defeat?

Now I really am out.

So make a thread regarding Buck, Roman, Gourlay and whoever else and lets get it to 100+ about how they should be sacked for making the stupid decision of having Torres as practically our only striker! There is so much more blame to be handed out than just to this guy!

Its true though Moses misses an open goal and yet Torres gets it in the neck?! Corinthians game where he should of put that one away, sure.

It is all about forward's instinct and decisiveness. Two moments from the game tell a story (at least for me): when Marin regains the ball on the left and slots through the box, Torres is actually jogging off away from the penalty box. On another occasion, a cross from the right (was it Oscar?)for Torres to go for it and head it in, but no, he just waits for the ball to arrive comfortably onto his head. Maybe there is an element of the grass which is greener over the fence, but I am pretty sure that Falcao would have netted the ball in those cases.

SP, the ball flashed across goal and Moses missed it. It happens. Chances go begging, for all players. It's irrelevant. We're talking about Torres' performances over 90 minutes, week-in week-out for 2 years. It's unacceptable. Torres missed a chance too, but no-one's banging on about that. It's the general level of performance. Every aspect of his game is wanting, not just his finishing. Moses has many good attributes and I couldn't care less if he missed an open goal. He is contributing whereas Torres isn't.

He's not been what we want so far, but to say hes been crap for 2 years every time he's played is just unfair. Drogba was hardly everyone's cup of tea in his first two years at the club then he went on to be such a maverick. Torres may still become a strong player for us not to the level Didier was but still improve.

I've made that point in this thread, I don't go into a character assassination about Torres here, just my personal opinion which has not changed since the Swansea game last season. If Torres was not played 90 minutes every game; if our board didn't push out virtually every other striker we had out of the club; if his performances justified his demands this thread would not be 100+ pages.

Fact is that I've seen members of this board lay into other players, but no one has quite the amount of defense to pathetic performances the way Torres has amassed a cult following. When everyone though Bosingwa went to crap after his injury - we had an agreement, there was no need to justify why he wasn't good enough for a first choice right back at the club. Yet Jose's contribution to the club is either level or slightly above what Torres has done with us. Yet no one went 100+ pages accusing posters of being disingenuous of their critic of Jose, how our wingers were sh*te at defending leaving him exposed and how Terry is too slow that leads to Jose exposed or how Mikel is too immobile or Jose's crossing is actually good but the rest of the players don't want to run onto his passes because they dislike playing with him; or how he is intimidated byBrana's presence in the team and we should let go of Brana to make him feel confident etc etc etc

99% of his dribbles he gets tackled.

And he looks surprised every time it happens.

Is he f**king stupid?

The only stupid thing is that drag back bollocks he tries every time he wants to skin someone. It aint worked the last f**k knows how many times it aint even worked against a 35 year old Distin or a 35 year old Nelson.

Utter pish.

I'm done with Torres. I've supported the guy for two years and I've always kept the faith, but he's had 2 years to adjust now and he doesn't look like he'll ever improve. Sad reality is that Liverpool sold him because they probably knew he was on a decline after the 2010 World Cup.

50m for a striker who's only scored 14 EPL goals in 66 matches as opposed to RVP who's scored 16 EPL goals in 21 matches mad.gif

I just started to watch Chelsea games when I can this season (I'm mainly a fan of Werder Bremen). I just feel the need to express how bad I think Torres is at Chelsea. I really think it would be best for the club and the player to part ways. Falcao would probably be the best player - that is kind of available - to replace him. And changing teams would - I think - also give Torres the chance to leave this downward spiral. I doubt he can do it at Chelsea...
