It's all over for him really. There is are no valid defences left. To be honest there haven't been for nearly 12 months.

His ego and confidence (not a bad thing) is well above his actual ability which is a shame. And someone with his ego is not willing to accept that and sit on the bench, so he has to go IMO.

Very well put, I agree with that. Danny is good, but I don't think he's as good as he thinks he is.

You said in the OP he is a pathetic player which to myself is not a slur on his form but everything about him, that is very wrong imo especially as the guy is a Chelsea player and giving his all.

He can't just flick a switch and turn into the player of old, he got badly injured before we CHOOSE to spend a fortune on him...It's our fault for doing so when he clearly wasnt the same player.

He tries hard (too hard sometimes) and yesterday he showed he has fire in his stomache and caused problems for Liverpool.

This form has been going on ever since we signed him. His job is to score goals. He is not doing that. We always see fire in his stomach for about 20-30minutes every game then he just whims off for the rest of the game!!!

I was also at Anfield two months before we signed him. He absolutely ripped us to shreds that day, ive not seen him come close to that on one occasion since he has been with us.

I actually thought the behaviour from fans of the same club who have differing opinions would be more sensible on here. I might just go back to a multi club forum I am signed up to . Believe me, despite the subtle banter and wind ups, you can actually have a good debate with Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool fans in paticular about issues wrong at your club. The sensible ones will show some compassion and also point out their flaws.

Fair enough he might not get 30 goals but I'm not expecting someone like Suarez, Defoe or even Chica to get 30 goals but they still score and sometimes get vital goals when the team needs them. Torres does not do this.

I don't hate Torres, I told you already, I'm a member and attend most of our matches, I don't show any hate towards him, only support. This forum allows me to vent my frustrations but you guys are becoming all sensitive shooting me down for slating Torres as if this wlll upset him and damage his confidence further.

I wouldn't label Torres pathetic and like yourself don't really like to here other fans talk about Chelsea players in that sort of way but your own words really should be enough to help you understand why so many have lost all hope that he will ever be good enough to lead the line here if we are going to give this team a Striker that compliments the superb players behind him an gives us the trophies these boys are surely destined to win.

Yesterday being one of his better games when he has played here already under three Managers is just not good enough and if he played every game in the form of yesterday we would still need another striker.

Yep Danny was best out on the wing, but there are a whole heap better in that position now. He just is not good enough to lead the line. A man city fan here at work said pretty much what we say now back when we bought him.

The countdown for Torres has to be set for the jan window. Whether we use him in part ex and bring in 2 strikers I don't know but there is only so long his inability to score can go on before a top club has to act.

For the record, I'm one of those fans that accept other opinions as long as they are not too wide of the mark without any justification. This is a forum, say what you want and how you feel. If you are justifiably not happy with a player and need to call him pathetic then do so! Torres is not and was never a lethal goal scorer and he certainly is not going to be a pacey striker like he was at Liverpool. However that does not make him pathetic as he gives his all everytime he has played this season.

thats pretty much how it works for some people. the bar really is set that low now. what would be a poor to average game for other players suddenly becomes 'encouraging' or 'gutsy' for torres. the fact he gives his all every game means im some way from labeling him 'pathetic' though and it should be the same for you too.

as for extra strikers i think any chelsea fan would concede we need another, though im not sure about two. personally i think its time danny was given a run in the team as first choice. there are some very valid doubts as to whether he is up to it but its got to be worth a punt rather than just starting him in league cup games or bringing him on in a league match that we are not winning with 9 mins to go.

it would be great to see him given the same time and patience that the management team has had with torres, at he very least just so we know what he is capable of given a run of games. im not convinced it will happen though.

Yes the club were at fault, but I'm not going to shoot my club down, not after they gifted me with these new signings. They've made mistakes and are trying to rectify that. No player is bigger than the club. I will always support the club. If a player is not doing my club justice after I paid that money to watch him play and earn his stripes, then I will sign onto a forum and vent my frustrations. Its only a forum as I've said a million times already, don't take it to heart.

He never lived up to my expectations but whats sad is that he is falling way below the expectations I never expected him to reach. Terrible player.

I think unless we use Torres as part of the Falcao deal then he will be here till the summer and then will ask to leave. I dont get the picture from him that he is a fighter and wants to really earn his spot. Drogba was a fighter, the amount of strikers he saw off was amazing. Torres wants his spot to be given to him. If we bring in another striker that will really challenge him he will fold and pack his bags. He seems like a nice enough guy but as a footballer he seems a bit spineless in my opinion.
