Yes and I can see why we put him in DM.

He was the best attacking midfielder in the world for his age group. I honestly believe that Jose destroyed his talent - and I'm still a big fan of Mikel.

I'd hate to see us do the same to Oscar, let him play where it's natural for him to play and in a position that has seen him become one of the best young prospects in the world.

Romeu seems to have had that heart ripped out since AVB left.

Lamps just will never fit that role.

Rambo puts himself about but is not that immovable object.

Mikel has too many defensive liabilities in and around the area, and occasional brainfarts further up the pitch too. He has the skills just not the speed of thought or footballing brain.

I think Oscar would fit into DM role very well but it would also be a waste.

He's scored a couple of braces against some poor teams, like Genk and in the FA cup, possibly Leicester.

for all who are going to abuse Torres for not scoring again, Sturridge was & has been much worse when playing this season, he's got a terrible 1st touch. I'm no Torres fan & think we need a new addition (or 2) in jan, but he's the best option we have out of the 2.

Personally I would try Moses there.

Put in a decent shift today and actually wanted him to stay on instead of Danny coming on.. think RDM was wrong with that sub as I thought Marin for Hazard would have been a lot better.

One of Torres' better efforts, unlucky not to score today. It's still painfully clear that we are a Falcao away from being a genuine title contender.

Wasn't as sh*t as he has been in some games, but he just never ever looks like a threat. It's all well and good running around chasing the ball a playing a few one-twos here and there, but his job is to put the ball in the bloody net, and he never looks like even coming close to it.

Torres with a bit of luck could have scored maybe two today but still for me just doesn't look good enough, Danny again not showing anything in his short time in his place and really if we are to challenge for the top spot we need a striker.

We have to play an open game that leaves our fullbacks exposed partly because our striking options are weak, IMO we could be more solid and disaplined if we diddn't have to rely on getting goals from midfielders and defenders so much.

Not Torres fault today by a long chalk but the somethings not quite right and I don't think its the defence or midfield.

Torres did alright today, no more. He played about 6 out of 10 along with most of the team and put a shift in.

People will still defend the 6 out of 10 as a good performance from him though pretty much on the basis that he wasn't completely toothless/hapless.

My word, the need for another striker becomes so utterly glaring and obvious every passing minute this team plays.

Im so sick of people making excuses for him. Close doesnt mean sh*t. He isnt a threat anymore. His goal last game was all luck and he isnt putting balls in the back of the net. Its that simple.

Chippy and bjd have it spot on as far as I am concerned. Torres was no better or worse than a lot of players today and should shoulder equal blame as any of the rest of them for the poor result.

Of course there isn't an entre thread dedicated to the other players so when this one gets posted in after a disappointing result it does tend to look like people are just blaming Torres. However the match thread shows comments about other players as well. The fact that there is a Torres thread is really just symptomatic of the fact that he has been consistently disappointing for far too long.

It is time for a change and for Torres to move on, as much for his own sake as ours because I think he needs a change of club and league.

I'd say buy another striker and keep Torres, Sturridge is the one who should go.

I'd also fancy a little tactical flexibility from Robbie, with another striker we could switch to a 442, 41212 at times and have answers for different teams.

433 would have pushed liverpool's 352/532 a lot more than the 4231 for example.
