Sturridge is better than Welbeck, its just Welbeck gets to play more. Danny scored something like 16 goals last season and wasnt even a striker.

How ever i did say at the start of the season that it was a mistake not getting in another striker and there were people on here who gave me loads of abuse.

I am not saying im NOT supporting Torres because i am supporting him since day one. I ment why do you still have faith on him(my english is bad sorry). Im pretty sure everybody SUPPORTS him but have faith on him? I don't have faith on Torres but i will support hime even if he leaves CFC because i like that guy and i kinda feel bad for him for his form.

And the second post i wrote "Just .... WOW" was about calling me a c**t..

No matter what we are going to have to spend big to land a half decent striker in Jan.

About that that Leandro guy from Brazil? Plays for the same team that Oscar did doesn't he? Top scorer at the olympics?

Yes, agree, anyone in football who knew anything knew we needed quality back up and still do. I expect the club tried desperately to buy shrewdly but unfortunately it didn't come off and we had to take the risk. Unfortunately it hasn't turned out as we all hoped and expect we will try again come Jan, just a case of Who now.

The club would have to then work on a work permit, he might not be able to get one.

lol hes brazil's 1st striker. he may not play every match for them but im sure its enough for a permit

just checked, the olympics appear not to count so maybe it could be an issue

To be fair if Torres was doing the business and we had Sturridge waiting in reserve with Moses as a third option it wouldn't seem so bad but in reality the ongoing lack of form for Torres has left as looking for a plan B which isn't really there and with Sturridge being injured for a large chunk of the season it ha further compunded the problem.

I was against the loaning out of Lukaku in the summer although having seen him get some decent minutes for WBA I must say in terms of the bigger picture I thought it might well have been the rght thing to do.

Question is- if Lukaku was still here would he be starting games?

Answer- probably not.

If we bring in another forward then you would think 1 or 2 would be moved on in the long run if Lukaku is to be a future Chelsea player.

Who would gamble on Torres though?

Because hes a CFC player you plastic c**t. Im not going to pretend Im happy with his performance, but whenever he pulls on the shirt you can be damn sure Im supporting him and hope he does well....

Excuse me mate, you really are a plonker for saying that about a fellow fan. I'm sure that EVERY fan is going to be behind Torres when he puts on a Blue shirt because they want him to score.

I agree with the person you called a plastic. Personally, as I write this now, I have given up on Torres. I have no faith and confidence in him whatsoever. There is not a player out there who has received so much support from the fans as Torres has done. No one even gave Ramires a chance and he has managed to turn it around. With all the support Torres gets I thought he would change, but no, his mentality is unbelievably weak!!!

What you must understand is fans like me and everyone else who love their club are fickle. Yes we have no faith in Torres and want him out of our club in January (well I do anyway), but I will be at the Liverpool game on Sunday and if I can see him getting a few shots off and showing spiriting signs then I will be shouting "TORRES TORRES TORRES". Come match day I will scream at the top of my voice to inspire confidence into Nando as I always do. However, when the 90 minutes is over I will let my feelings be clear based on performance and expectation of a 50 million pound striker.

I can no longer say

-Malouda doesn’t pass to him

-Drogba presence is causing him too much pressure

-We don’t have the creative players that Liverpool had (sarcasm) to get Torres back to his best.

Lets face it, he’s an absolute failure and lost all confidence in himself. If only he had the ego of Sturridge, maybe he would be deadly because right now hes a ‘little girl’ on the pitch.

I'm not going to argue with anyone in a football forum, just grow up please.

Don't worry fellla! Some people seem to be taking out their own personal issues on memebers in this forum. No need for verbal agression in here at all.

JUST...WOW!

That's all good and well pal but the terminology that caused the recation which you have quoted was 'why do still you support Torres'

I for one can understand why saying things like that could annoy people.

And having seen a few of the user in questions posts after we lose a game I think Xfactor was bang on the money to be honest....

Yet he is far better than Sturridge.... Oooops I tripped... How much is he paid...

TBH they are both crap in their own ways.

If Torres has Sturridges ego and Sturridge had Torres ability we would have two very good strikers.

I just soooo can't believe it! Being a member I have seen Torres play many times now. The best perforance I've seen from in the flesh was at ANFIELD when they beat us 2-0 with his two fantastic goals!!!!!!

So that one game where I've only seen Torres in a Red shirt has been better than the 20+ games ive seen him in a Blue shirt. Shocking!!

Come in No9

You have only to look at Robin van Persie's finishing this week to see what Chelsea are missing. Saturday's draw at Swansea, a difficult game in which they were without key men and did not play particularly well, was precisely the kind of predicament from which they are entitled to expect Fernando Torres to rescue them. Quite simply it no longer matters how good his movement is meant to be or how hard we are told he works or the space he is deemed to create for others: strikers who do not strike are on the exceptionally useless side of useless. The majority of teams who win titles do so with one striker scoring at least 20 league goals – in the period since Sky invented football, the lowest top-scorer in any such side is Eric Cantona with 14 for Manchester United in 1995-96 –

. Given the state of Chelsea's defence and defensive midfield, that is hardly going to happen to them, so it is time for a rethink. Either Daniel Sturridge must be given the chance to prove he is as good as he absolutely knows he is, or Eden Hazard,
, needs to move inside. Neither option is the remotest solution but, if Roberto Di Matteo waits until January to find one, given Chelsea's fixtures in the meantime he might find that the season has already departed.

What kind of striker, whether he's worth £50 mill or 50 bob, who's struggling for goals..................won't take penalties?.

Practise penaties & deadball stuff Nando, get your 'loose' first touch back to previous standards & maybe you could re-invent yourself as a 21st century Teddy Sheringham!.

That fellow had all the pace of a 3 legged, arthritic donkey (& the appearance) but,he kept a great touch & a great ability to 'read' a game.

All it will take is a enthusastic effort* from Torres.

*That's that idea gone for a burden then.

I don't think the guy meant support as in supporting the player, I think he meant people who can't stand others criticising Torres. I personally think Torres isn't good enough anymore he's been very poor at times but of course I still want him to do well.

What makes me laugh is the fact people are talking about torres being the only reason we won't win the league. Correct me if I'm wrong but our problem this season hasn't been getting goals it has been stopping them at the other end! We could score 3 goals a game and lose 4-3 yet people will still only be concerned that torres didn't score!

Fact is he is our main striker until january at least so anyone thinking sturridge is going to suddenly start leading our line and torres being relegated to the bench is either stupid or deluded. He hasn't scored in 4 games so yes he is a concern at the minute but it isn't the disaster people are making it out to be. Let's look forward to them game tommorrow and hopefully nando getting a goal or 2 to shut a few people up until the next game he dosn't score!

True the defense is our main problem but the same could probably be said about every one of the top sides this season, defending doesn't seem to matter in todays football. But when it comes to getting that killer goal, Torres can't be trusted on to do that sadly.
