Our midfield is to good for him...Mostly he is the last and weakest link in our combinations..Give the ball away to much, dangerous to concede a goal every single time...

But the funny or frustated thing is that he score goals like this one today...

I'm confused here, just noticed Yorkley liking a post I'm having trouble agreeing with and wondering what I've been missing?

I have seen some posts on here from people I have a lot of respect for having doubts about Fernando (as have I) but as long as I've been on the site, I wouldn't for a minute imagine these posters would either will or be happy in any way at a Chelsea players failure, more so at a failure that has cost the Club a record fee and I'm pretty sure I can speak for them when I say they all would love him to succeed.

There may have been some newer posters that are either wind up merchants or just young kids that like to be able to say "I told you so" but most surely must be happy every time any player they have had doubts about proves them wrong...I know I am.

Respecting Yorkleys view as I do I must have either missed the posts by members who have less than the Clubs and Torres best interest at heart or

maybe I have conditioned myself to gloss over a lot of posts unless I recognise it as a post from someone whos opinions I usually am interested in.

Anyway doubt Fernandos showing he is good enough to be nailed on first choice striker here though I do, good luck to him and I hope he grabs a bagfull tonight and gos on to finish the season so strong that this thread is deleted to save mine and many others embarresment.

I'm sure any true Chelsea fan on here echos my views . :JC_doubleup:

Don't worry, Chippy, I haven't lost it. :) I was agreeing that, in my view, there ARE people in here who desperately want Torres to fail, whether its so they can say "I Told You So" or they are just arseholes, I don't know.

I'm still not convinced about Torres in either direction. After all, I posted waay before he came to us that the dippers wouldn't and shouldn't even get their 20-whatever million back for him, let alone 50 mill. Just shows what I know.

My main gripe with some of these people is the same as my main gripe with the Mikel-haters, and the same as it has been with the "<insert manager name here> has to go NOW" w**kers. They HAVE to come and post snide sh*t about any mistake the object of their hate should happen to make, but never, ever have a good word to say when the same person does something good. It's the same people usually who are cursing and abusing the team in every match-day thread if we aren't winning 5-0 by the 20th minute.

I don't want to be all ageist and old-school about it, but it's mostly the younger, more recent members who are doing this. I truly do think that they want Torres to flop, Mikel to give the ball away several times in dangerous positions and Carlo to be sacked

and P.S. to Yorkley's, they will probably stop posting once the target of their venom has left us.

Carlo to be sacked? You having a senior moment, YB?

Nope, Carlo was an example - sh*t, if we don't win every match, or even if the team picked isn't one they approve of, some people in here are calling for sackings of managers, regardless. They obviously know so much more about anything related to football than even the top professional managers.

Excuse me mate, you really are a plonker for saying that about a fellow fan. I'm sure that EVERY fan is going to be behind Torres when he puts on a Blue shirt because they want him to score.

I agree with the person you called a plastic. Personally, as I write this now, I have given up on Torres. I have no faith and confidence in him whatsoever. There is not a player out there who has received so much support from the fans as Torres has done. No one even gave Ramires a chance and he has managed to turn it around. With all the support Torres gets I thought he would change, but no, his mentality is unbelievably weak!!!

What you must understand is fans like me and everyone else who love their club are fickle. Yes we have no faith in Torres and want him out of our club in January (well I do anyway), but I will be at the Liverpool game on Sunday and if I can see him getting a few shots off and showing spiriting signs then I will be shouting "TORRES TORRES TORRES". Come match day I will scream at the top of my voice to inspire confidence into Nando as I always do. However, when the 90 minutes is over I will let my feelings be clear based on performance and expectation of a 50 million pound striker.

I can no longer say

-Malouda doesn’t pass to him

-Drogba presence is causing him too much pressure

-We don’t have the creative players that Liverpool had (sarcasm) to get Torres back to his best.

Lets face it, he’s an absolute failure and lost all confidence in himself. If only he had the ego of Sturridge, maybe he would be deadly because right now hes a ‘little girl’ on the pitch.

Do not even try mate, it seems that some people have a soft spot when it come to Torres. And as you said, i will support torres while he is playing but after that i just cant see him being a Chelsea player. He is a total failure and we need to accept it.

I didn't think Torres had a good game tonight but he did in my mind have a huge hand in us winning, Their Keeper was superb at their place and I believe Torres chasing him down and getting that early goal spooked him for the rest of the Match.

A few flicks didn't come off, a few runs were not as pacy as you want to see from him but at least his head never went down and he went off the pitch without complaint, I'd have had Danny on earlier but wouldn't doubt the man in charge.

Great result tonight and we have a few players that are really exciting to watch, really interesting season this one.

Ain't you the one who asked yesterday why we still support torres? This thread is rather quieter than usual tonight but your the first one to come on and have a pop. Come on onebelo etc where are you?

don't conjure up Beelzebub! Once he's loose on earth you can't get rid of him!

If you read the post with your right blind eye you will see that i said "dont give me the he is a cfc player" because ofc everyone will support him aslong as he is a Chelsea player. But do you really think he will stand up and be what we expected him to be? Or are you like Moi or someone else that pop up immediatly they see my name on a post? There are a bunch of people that say terrible things about him and still im being attacked from everyside, i mean whats the point?

It depends what you expected of him? I expected a 20 + goals a season man who chips in with good team work and brings others into play. Right now he is on target to achieve that this season so he has my full backing!

Excuse me? When have I ever :"popped up" because I saw your name on a post?

Include frustration to that list.

Now, juventus thread and pretty much every time i post something negative, maybe im being paranoid or people just simple hate me.

Just for the people moaning about sturridge not getting a chance. He is going to get chances in the coming period.

Liverpool (h) sunday- Torres

West brom (a) saturday after- sturridge

Juventus (a) Tuesday- Torres

Man city (h) sunday-Torres

Fulham (h) wednesday- sturridge

Then there is a league cup game and a potential champions league dead rubber the week after where he will get playing time. If robbie wants to get the best of both of them then this would be the perfect schedule!

I think you are being paranoid.

This is what I said to you in the Juventus thread:

You said:

Welcom Moi to the Fiat Punto world, i have one too. We didnt win the last three games. This is the only place i thought people will not bash me for being pissed off for a football game( nobody here understands what watching football with passion is). Thank you guys for thinking i'm a idiot.

I replied:

Oh dear KosovoBlue - you really don't know people here if you think they don 't understand what watching football with passion is.

ShedEnders are the some of the most passionate supporters you could hope ever to meet.

I think possibly you are very young and quick to jump to conclusions.

That really can't be described as "jumping on you." I don't intend to search all through the forums to find other places where I have expressed a point of view contrary to yours. I have no recollection at all of ever having anything remotely resembling a "confrontation" with you about anything.

I answered you here because you made an accusation.

You mean to say no one has come on here to praise him for his goal? Shock.......

Let me be the first then, great chase down, great goal, without it we would have drawn, where would that have left us? we all know that both are not the answer, but hey, they are all we got at the moment, learn to live with it.

When he plays a generally good game but doesn't score: "Torres sucks. He's a striker. He needs to score. If he's not doing that, who cares about anything else?"

When he scores, but doesn't play a great overall game: "Torres sucks. That goal was lucky, and he did nothing after that."

Some people just like to bitch and moan. :dead_horse:

I think people are just looking at the bigger picture to be fair. Yes he scored a goal, great. He worked hard for it and fair play to him for doing so. Does this make me change my mind that he is going to succeed here? No, no it doesn't. Im not going to moan and complain about him, at the end of the day he is a Chelsea player and that is all that matters but if we were to get a Falcao type player up top, someone who can be relied upon, then our team would become truly scary.

Surely by scoring and helping us win big games he is succeeding? He has scored some crucial goals this season that have helped us win games. That is his job and he is doing it well so far.
