As my much as I love Chelsea and it's players, you can no longer defend Torres for his performances. This team has now been built specifically for him to be on the end of chances and score, & he simply isn't doing it.

BJD and co have it spot on. He's no longer a threat. If we don't buy another striker in Jan, any faint chances of the title will vanish. Relying on him and Sturridge to produce the goods isn't enough for a club of our standing and I'd be amazed if the club just sat on their hands and did nothing.

Well I'm slowly turning, always wanted to see nando come good, but he is running out of excuses. Problem is he is the best of a bad two.. I still hope he does but I think the club need to consider jan to bring in an alternative even if its just Lukaku right now Danny is just a waste of space.

Well he looks better when dropping deep because when he is on the last man he dosn't get a a sniff of the ball. Why can united and city play 2 strikers and make it work and we can't? I'm not saying start with 2 strikers I mean when we need a goal like we did today and instead of another striker on the pitch all we have is mikel getting forward.

And yes hopefully sturridge does start next week because we are going to need torres fresh for the juventus and city games!

I think people have been unfair to Sturridge on here. This season he has come on with 10 to 15 minutes to go usually when we are chasing a game.

For me Studge was as useful in 15 minutes or so than what Torres was for the rest of the time.

It is unfair to judge Sturridge on short cameo roles. I would put money on that if he started the same about of goals as Torres has this season he would double the amount of goals that Torres has scored.

People are right, this isnt Torres FC, but we have done everything possible to get Torres playing well. It isnt the teams fault anymore, it is his. A new start for both parties is what is needed.

This fella is just not good enough to lead Chelsea's line. I always thought his ego was stopping him from being a world class striker in the making. Well, his attitude on the pitch just doesn't seem right and I firmly believe that he just not have the quality to be a main top 4 striker. Hes a midtable striker and won't even surpass the likes of Jermain Defoe in terms of goal scoring so we are better off letting him go.

As for Torres..........DEAR OH DEAR (my head hurts).

I was at the game yesteray and yes I know Torres runs about and works hard for the team but hey!!! so does Suarez, yet you don't see him run into blind alleys, lose the ball and fail to score or test the keeper on a consistent basis.

Its so upsetting that United and Citys 3rd choice strikers are head and shoulders above our number one striker.

This has been the biggest transfer failure in history, we need to sell him off asap and start our forward line afresh. The fans cheer this guy picking up 170k every week, yet he fails to repay us with a strikers consistent goals.

Erm shooting me down for stating my opinion on a 50million flop who has already implicitly said in the press that he doesn't really care about this club? His heart is definetly not in it.

Doubt we will get that much for Studge with only 6 months left on his contract. I would say £12mil TOPS!!!!!!!!!

Torres maximum we would get for him is £20million althought I think £15million is more realistic. Problem is, who will meet his wage demands?

Over the last 2 years, Torres has hardly if ever been injured. His games/goal scoring record is absoltely pathetic!! I've even seen on other Chelsea forums, some posters who have given Torres so much time have also given up (see quotes below)

The CL? Lets be honest, our inspirational Champions League winners who got us through that campaign at the top of my head were CECH, COLE, TERRY, LAMPARD, RAMIRES, MATA and DROGBA.

Torres form has been pathetic. I'm sorry if you're so offended by that (relative of Torres perhaps?) but it's true, he been shockingly poor for the amount of games he has played.

His form has been much improved this season.

He is not performing to the level we want, we all know this it has been said 1000 times so why u feel the need to start a thread and label him pathetic is beyond me- just seems like kicking a Chelsea player when he is down. I really do find all your posts very similar and very tedious if I am honest- the word pethetic sums your posts up a lot better than it does Torres as a player.

He has scored goals this season and contributed, not as much as what we need and expect but ever the less he has contributed.

Mate, I've been watching Sturridge closely. Hes just not good enough for the level we want to be at. I think his defenders (I was one of them) hope he will come good but I actually believe his quality and ability will not stretch that far. His ego and confidence (not a bad thing) is well above his actual ability which is a shame. And someone with his ego is not willing to accept that and sit on the bench, so he has to go IMO.

Torres is absolutely finished. There are 0% excuses.

1-New club and just recovered from injury he will be back with a bang with a full season (2011-2012 was shocking overall)

2- Players like Kalou and Malouda are not creative enough and do not pass to him (we buy Mazacar and no improvement)

3- Drogba's presecense is holding him back (Drogba leaves, still no change)

4- He works hard for the team (Suarez, Rooney, Teves,Kun all work hard for thier teams yet still get goals).

We need to start afresh.
