thats pretty much how it works for some people. the bar really is set that low now. what would be a poor to average game for other players suddenly becomes 'encouraging' or 'gutsy' for torres. the fact he gives his all every game means im some way from labeling him 'pathetic' though and it should be the same for you too.

as for extra strikers i think any chelsea fan would concede we need another, though im not sure about two. personally i think its time danny was given a run in the team as first choice. there are some very valid doubts as to whether he is up to it but its got to be worth a punt rather than just starting him in league cup games or bringing him on in a league match that we are not winning with 9 mins to go.

it would be great to see him given the same time and patience that the management team has had with torres, at he very least just so we know what he is capable of given a run of games. im not convinced it will happen though.

We need two strikers. Danny is leaving lets not forget. I've been one of his biggest fans when most Chelsea fans were criticising him last season. After watching him closely this season, he is just not good enough for Chelsea I'm afraid. Certainly not as a starter or CF and thats what he wants.

How can you be so sure that DS is 'just not good enough' as a striker when he has hardly been given a run in the team this season ? Impossible to make a frank judgement on 9 min cameos. He deserves a run in the team in my opinion, at least just so we know once and for all.

I think unless we use Torres as part of the Falcao deal then he will be here till the summer and then will ask to leave. I dont get the picture from him that he is a fighter and wants to really earn his spot. Drogba was a fighter, the amount of strikers he saw off was amazing. Torres wants his spot to be given to him. If we bring in another striker that will really challenge him he will fold and pack his bags. He seems like a nice enough guy but as a footballer he seems a bit spineless in my opinion.

falcao would improve us immensely, but if its anyway possible, id rather have falcao+torres than falcao+sturridge. sturridge is a non factor for me, i dont expect him to contribute at all.

before the season started i was sure torres and sturridge would be enough but i have severely overrated their ability. i realize moving torres down the pecking order would probably affect his confidence even more, but he has to realize by now he just isnt good enough

"Went to the match yesterday, it felt like a loss as we left the ground.

POSTIVES, our defence looked sharper, Dave at R/B was much better, Bertrand looked loads better.

NEGATIVES, Torres failed again to make the difference in front of goal, continously running into blind alleys."

"Torres is finished"

"Torres is not good enough. He has to go and there is no point in trying to defend him anymore.

No club would be able to win the title with Torres as their main striker and as long as Torres is a Chelsea player I will have to assume that the board are not aiming to win the Premiership."

"To an extent I can accept Torres not scoring as many goals as he should but what I can´t accept is how easily he loses posession.

Just watch how many times Torres loses the ball - nearly every time he receives it.

It really is like playing with 10 men sometimes when Torres plays and you know that Torres will play no part in getting us back into the game should we get the winner.

Sorry but after nearly two years I´ve run out of patience with Torres and it really has nothing to do with the result as things stand.

He's toothless, sell him in January and just accept the huge loss on our initial investment."

"Torres is not good enough for us, it really is that simple"

Just a few quotes from another Chelsea forum. I guess they are plastics too. Opposition fans laughing at us, copying their insults in calling us fake fans and glory hunters only for us to do the same to eachother.

PATHETIC!!

Have to agree with Gullit's Dreadlocks here. And to keep it short and sweet, like I said earlier, Suarez is a menace posing palpable danger and a recognised class act. Sadly, our number 9 no longer poses such traits and would probably benefit from a move (Atletico perhaps) for himself and for the benefit of the club.

To call him plastic is un-called for...

Thank you mate. I don't expect people to agree with me, just don't shoot me down and insult me for doing so, when I spend my hard earned money to support that very same player I criticise on an unknown (to him) internet forum. Its a joke.

ive watched the games he played for team GB, the one in the CC, his sub appearances . . . and ive seen nothing to convince me he is good enough. ofc i cant be sure, because that is not a lot of playing time, but i feel its still enough to make my decision on him

This is just my opinion. I can just see something that makes me think he wont reach those dazzling heights we want. Also his ego is another big factor into this. What amazing is that he is not an attention seeker off the pitch which is good, but on it there is something wrong. I'm no longer convinced. Maybe thats because younger guys like Oscar and Hazard are showing more promise.

He doesn't seem to have the ability for me. Hes not as good as we think I'm afraid.

Just got my West Ham tickets this morning. I wonder if JoeyN who called me a plastic will want to meet up for a drink before the game?????

Pfffffft!!!

I think most of us are realising or starting to that Torres is a spent force at Chelsea. I've called Mikel enough times I'm not gonna barate anyone for having an opinion. IMHO we would like to see these players do well but when we see the same issues again and again year in and year out with the same players sometimes you just have to call it.

The biggest balls up this club made this year IMHO was letting mireles go I just did not see the sense in that.

agreed, if your putting a team together with the likes of Oscar hazard mata why would you want Mr average leading the line, same goes for Mr average in our midfield.

Alot of us realised it some time ago. The ones who were defending also hoping for him to come good are realising this. Football fans are fickle (not an insult of a term) in a sense that you can only be judged on how you perform of late and Mikel is a great example.

He used to be the ultimate scapegoat and was lambusted by our fans time and time again. Yet due to his improvement we are now praising him and even if he makes a few mistakes, we won't blame him for it as much as we used to because we appreciate what he has done for us and how much he has improved overall this season.

As football fans, we have no option but to be fickle 'so to speak'. One minute the player is vandal, the next he is a hero. But thats all up to the player with how he wants to be percieved.

I'm not here to be Mr.Popular and make friends, nor enemies. I just want to debate on a forum in a sensible manner without insults and questioning others club loyalty.

Wow you bought tickets to a match.... you are a real die hard fan you are!!

Mikel has been playing better or have our standards of what we expect from him just dropped. Would be a great player to have on the bench but he should not be starting every game in a team that has class pretty much everywhere else on the pitch.

Certaintly not a plastic!!!

Idiots go to games too, like the lad who we banned.

Idiots and plastics are two different things. Fair enough you want to be a low-life and call me an idiot, fine by me. But plastics don't go to games home and away. Unless you can tell me otherwise and explain what a plastic fan is?

This is how I see it and I spent endless posts not so far back explaining why I thought Kalou got brought on in games before Danny...because Dannys decision making and selfishness means he will often shoot when a pass is on and Kalou (slaughtered on here by most) was likely to pop up in the right place and miss three sitters but like Danny would always fancy himself for the next attempt and often nick one.

Its different now, Kalou has gone and so has Drogs which means the Club showed faith in Danny as an understudy to compete for the main striker spot, now I don't see that hes had enough time in that spot for any of us to judge if he has improved or if he can do the Job, he has waited patiently enough watching on and must wonder how bad Torres has to play for how long a time before he gets a run in the team that will be any indication if he can do better... what I would be happy to bet on is that he will get a few shots off and fight for his place at least letting us all see if he can fit into the team or if he is wasting his time here.

Fernando has been well backed by fans and Manager alike and he would not be starting in any of the main competition ahead of their second or third strikers and that is just one big confidence boost for our opposition.

Why was he banned aswell? For doing what exactly?

What a forum warrior you are. Keep posting, you're making me laugh. :D

We do need another Striker but I wouldn't call Torres pathetic. Goalkeeper made some good saves yesterday. No doubt you're a serial Mikel basher as well.

Back on to topic, to label Torres pathetic is kind of harsh if you're aiming it towards him as a person/footballer.

I agree with you in parts where his goalscoring record needs to be better, 19 in 83 games is it? That's not good enough for a Chelsea striker and this is coming from a huge Torres fan who's got his name on the back of each home kit since he's joined but it's simply going on too long now and I think our illustrious owner needs to dip back into the transfer market. Preferably, Falcao but saw someone mentioned Lewandowski and think that would be an excellent signing as well given his age and goalscoring ability in the bundesliga. That being said I will support Torres as much as I can down to the day he leaves Chelsea, and if that means he sets up 20 goals and scores none, well then i'll be happy that he's at least making a team contribution but I do think we need a new striker.

Sturridge, if im honest I have never liked him as a player at all. I think his ego takes over and he thinks he's better than what he actually is, his left foot is extremely overrated with most of his shots thundering over the bar or rolling wide with the odd one or two hitting the target in about ten shots, he's not a team player like Torres either but I suppose you could argue it's good that he is actually having a go.

I think we need to keep one and dispense of the other but I will support them both till the day that they leave Chelsea FC.

Why dont people drop the personal insults and lets talk about the team we all love here. That might be a good idea.
