Interested for your opinions.

Pretty please play the ball not the man.....

(that means not resorting to stupid childish personal insults and penis measuring contests on who is the biggest fan)

At this moment in time I can never accept Benitez as our manager. The insults from him to our club and to our fans and the spats with Jose are still fresh in my memory. I hope the team do well this season but at the same time I do not want Benitez getting any credit for it. I'm just counting the days until he has gone.

Never, whatever is achieved here until hes gone will be down to Robbies hard work and the players, not interested in his input as I've heard enough of his garbage and know I will here even more of it when hes somewhere else.

Funny how so many think its a good move, I've got a mate who's a plasterer, hes been out of work for two years as well...a lot of people want plastering done, oh well maybe hes not been in the right place at the right time?.

gotcha. so if we finish mid table with no cups i fully expect you to not put any of that on rafas head.

He doesn't even look like he belongs to this club. He will have to do a hell of a lot to convince me that he merits this position.....let alone win over the fans that just hate him and the only way he will do that is what we see on the pitch....hopefully this he is a short term fix and not a long term solution

My words in that post were a reminder of the words used by most when Grant took over from Jose, you haven't "got me" as I don't care if we win every game 5-0 except one against Barcalona in the CL final and we only win 5-1...that goal would have been Benitezs fault and he'll get no credit from me.

I didn't want RDM sacked, but in terms of finding replacements lets face it, how many other players with the sort of CV Rafa has are there left for us to go through, or would be willing to come?

We're running out of quality replacements, considering Pep and Mourinho were out of the question, and we've already pissed off Ancelotti, who is really left that has achieved what Rafa has? He's won 2 La Liga's with a team that isn't Real or Barca, and hes probably the only manager to have achieved that in 40 or so years. As well as a UEFA cup, and a CL win with a pretty weak team (ignoring the fact they should never have been in that final to begin with).

Personally I would have liked to see Klopp, he's done brilliantly at BVB and they play in a similar style to that which would suit our players. However I doubt he would have wanted to come here, so assuming Hiddink also doesn't want to come back, Rafa is probably, and I hate to say it, the next best alternative. He's the last coach to have won the CL that we could realistically hire (RDM, Pep, Mourinho, Ancelotti, SAF and Rijkaard are the only managers to have won it since).

I will support him because he is the manager of Chelsea, and any true fan will want Chelsea to succeed. Will I respect him? I don't respect him now, and it will be more difficult for him to earn my respect than it would have been for previous CFC managers, but if he does the right things by the team, and improves us, then I can learn to accept him.

I don't think he cares for the club what so ever. He's here to kick-start his career and nothing more.

I agree but couldn't this work for us .I have to admire his bollocks for taking on the job knowing how many people in the UK want him to fail . It is sh*t or bust time for him he fails here he will never be considered for a top job again .

I don't want him here and won't accept him as part of the Chelsea family but will give him 6 games before I start giving him verbals

Also if you want to look for one positive, hes probably one of the few managers that hates SAF as much as the rest of us.

My enemies enemy and the lark.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend?

Just in case I haven't already made my feelings clear on the matter:

Message%20To%20Benitez.jpg

I tell you what, I'll keep the image safe and barring Acts of God I'll post it again at the end of the season.

Every word of it will be as true then as it is now. Come what may.

yeah alright. your opinion of being against rafa is all good but it seems youve thrown away your common sense along with it. bit odd is all

I'm not being sensible, if I was I would support every decision the owner of the Club makes because hes minted and has a brilliant hobby where everyone not only has to show him gratitude for indulging himself in but has to agree with every decision he makes no matter who he craps on or how he ignores the rivalries that mean nothing to him but are a huge part of supporting a football team.

Yes I've left my common sense in the freezer until the inevitable happens but if I had a bit more of it I'd leave it in there till Abramovic buggered off as well.

By the way if and when he does, there will be plenty of offers for the Club and maybe it'll be from somebody able to keep their snouts out of team affairs.

Already been through all this in detail but in short I don't care about the comments he's made towards us in the past. If we all took every negative thing any manager/player has said about our club seriously then we would have a long list of enemies. Sometimes you just have to look at the things they say and go "What a tit", grin, shrug your shoulders and carry on about your business. I certainly found myself doing that with a lot of what Rafa and SAF have said in the past. Would I still want either of them to manage our team? Of course I bloody would.

Things get said in the moment, it happens. This whole thing is like being at school and having people making fun of your mom and then you get really angry about it, only to later realise that you were getting angry at something really petty. That's what it's like for me anyway. Point is I've moved on and I'm sure he has otherwise he wouldn't be here, right now I'm interested in what's best for the club.

He's Chelsea manager so I'll get behind him and the team.

I don't care what anyone else thinks as it does not affect me one bit.

Just because I don't like him and don't want him here does not mean I want him to fail because if he does then my club will suffer.

Beyond six months?

Barring something incredible like him delivering five trophies, crawling down the entire length of the kings road on his hands and knees begging for repentance before burning an effigy of the Liverbird, singing ten men went to mow whilst balancing a pint of Guinness on his head and pledging to never speak ill of Chelsea again, I'll never accept him as our manager.

And that's a fact.

I'm afraid, not for the first time, I have to agree with you. Abramovich has ruined our club in so many ways, and before anyone tells me all about the silver shiny things and all the world-class performers (let's forget Torres a minute) and the academy and the new training ground, erm, I am fully aware of all that, thank you very much. It's remarkable what money can buy. My feeling is that had Jose not schooled the old guard in his special kind of philosophy we wouldn't have won a damn thing, and lest we forget, Jose was Roman's second choice behind Sven, because Roman is a dunce when it comes to football, he simply does not understand it and he certainly doesn't understand the fans. For me, as I've said elsewhere, success shouldn't come at any cost, and this one is a cost that's far too big to bear.

Not really a surprise, he never even watched football until he saw that Man Utd vs Real Madrid game back in about 2003, when it finished about 4-3 and he decided he wanted to buy a football club.

That game is what drew him to it - the exciting, free flowing, attacking football. The same thing that has drawn him to Guardiola in the hope we can achieve it. It seems that's all he cares about really when you get down to it. Managers have brought him every trophy possible - PL, FA cup, League Cup, CL and they#ve still been sacked ruthlessly. The man only wants one thing - to play like Barcelona. I have a feeling if Guardiola comes in and doesn't do it pretty quickly, he'll be gone as well, and Roman might start getting frustrated and even more lacking in patience, and might decide to sell up.

I'll always be behind the team (30 years following Chelsea worldwide), you cannot be emotionally tied to your club and just turn it off when you want to.

But Benitez can **** *** !
