Oscar - Little Diamond

Featured Replies

Oh man, thats enough money to finance buying an absolute worldclass player. Best sale in football in forever if this happens! Telegraph is reporting 60 million for Christs sake. Please, please be true.

Simon Johnson in Evening Standard also confirming reports of a bid of 60 million pounds for Oscar from Shanghai Shenua. Looks like some kind of official leak.

I bet we could tempt Arsenal into selling us Sanchez for around that same price. Essentialy swapping Oscar for Alexis Sanchez. Or Verratti or that type of player. Wouldn't that be something.

Holy sh*t! The wages must be insane too, can't say for sure Oscar won't be tempted. Remember Hulk is in the top 10 highest paid in the world despite playing in China.

50-60m to Le Arse for Sanchez would be incredible and not turned down. But, I don't think Sanchez will be at this level for more than 2-3 years. Although less flashy and perhaps not as good, going by other people's opinions, Dybala would be a worthy acquisition.

Or we split the 60m; 30m to Conte & 15m a piece to Costa & Hazard when we win the league

Arsenal would flat out refuse Sanchez for £60m especially to a Pl club. Dream land if you think they would accept.

Only way he leaves is if he makes it clear he isnt signing a new deal.

How can a player like him at his age go to china? Well money and only money.....

Honestly I believe 1/10 players going to China will get a rush from being a part of their league's growth to being a powerhouse. Knowing you'll forever be known in that country for being one of the few to help them is almost as good as the millions.

I really disagree but I'll concede since I'm a noob here. I simply have faith, faith in Arsene being Arsene and faith that Sanchez would press for his release. I know he'd love to win some trophies, and I know Arsenal will never make a bigger sale.

Sanchez is a no go, unless we get him on a free when his contract runs up.

Cant see oscar going to chona when he turned it down last year. Maybe he feels the money is too good to turn down. Id be shocked and ecstatic if this went through for that price though.

I would hope we would go for greizmann, or dybala.

If Oscar goes to China at the age of just 25 - when he should be right at his peak - it will confirm what lots of us thought about him. A talented player, but lacking the drive to translate that into becoming a consistent top-level performer. He just never had that ability to control a game. We could do some serious business with this £60 million (Sanchez, Verratti, Nainggolan anyone?).

Thanks for the service anyway, 203 games and 38 goals is a significant contribution.

We'd have no chance of acquiring him  but think of the mischief we could do, hinting of a very large pay increase too. Good deal though for Oscar who hasn't hit the heights expected of him, personally I'd like to see us make a play for Verratti who would fit our style of play.

It's funny with Oscar, at times he looks like a worldbeater and then he looks out of place. I wouldn't say he's lacking any drive, it's just a lack of consistency. During the '16 WC, there were times he basically ran that Brazil team, but he needs to play a CAM role.

Your last sentence is the key here though. Him and Arsenal seems to be absolute miles apart in terms of conditions, Alexis wants almost double of Arsenals best salary offer and it looks like he is going to run down his contract unless Arsenal does something extremely drastic to their wage structure and offer to Sanchez.

And there is no way, for me at least that Arsenal is going to just let him leave for free if they can get 60-70 million for him from us now. Even as a competitor to them. He might go to us, United or City anyways in little over a year for free if they decide to hold on to him.

I don't know if we are even interested ovbiously and i can imagine Conte wants a midfielder and a defender more even but its an interesting situation and an interesting thought for me.

Chelsea have accepted a stunning £60million bid to take midfielder Oscar to China in January from the club’s former manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Oscar has told his Chelsea team-mates that he is moving to China, where he will link up with Villas-Boas at Shanghai SIPG, having fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge under head coach Antonio Conte.

Bet the club is absolutely over the moon.

Looks really close to being official this with almost everyone confirming the deal is struck now and that Oscar has decided to go there.
60 million for a squadplayer, pretty unimaginable really.

Now just spend it correctly.

Liked him very much - gifted, but may be physically just not good enough for the EPL.

Conte likes a more physical team - so the price is unbelievable but seems to be true.

Urgently required is an offensive midfielder like Lamps who fires from outside of the box.
