October 25, 20241 yr Was told earlier today that the CPO AGM will take place on 24 January 2025. Will attend with some of the people I go to the games with. Hopefully will have something to report on the stadium development. After the AGM we'll go for a few beers and a curry.
November 2, 20241 yr Everytime I see that this post has comments on I get excited and read them. To find 90% of them have nothing to do with the stadium
December 1, 20241 yr Great interview with Uncle Ken about the formation of the CPO https://x.com/chelsea_podcast/status/1863096463317676455 Wembley w**kers🤣
December 16, 20241 yr Was told yesterday that Jason Gannon who is the club's president and chief operating officer will be attending the CPO AGM on 24 January and will answer questions from attendees. Good that someone from the club's management will attend. I think the last person to attend was Bruce Buck and that was a few years ago. Will Gannon's attendance mean that there will be an announcement about a redevelopment of the ground or a move? Hopefully we'll find out one way or another. I'm going to the AGM so will report back.

Hopefully there will be something to report. @Simplymosorry that you won't be able to attend. There has been some debate about the future of Kingsmeadow and the women's team playing more games at Stamford Bridge. For the last couple of seasons three of the women's eleven home league games have been played at the Bridge. The women's European matches are also played at the Bridge as Kingsmeadow as that ground does not meet UEFA standards. I attend the women's matches and there are different opinions about whether or not games should be played at the Bridge. If all games are played at the Bridge that could have an impact on the development of the Bridge as there could be thirty league matches (19 men and 11 women) played. In addition there would be domestic cup and European matches so a possibility of 50 matches. There would also be more road closures as fans enter and leave the ground. I doubt that extra matches and road closures would go down well with residents and business around Stamford Bridge and we would need them onside for any redevelopment of the Bridge. Conversely Kingsmeadow could be expanded - I'm not sure if that is possible - and it is brought up UEFA standards. The next few months and years could be very interesting!

Upgrade Kingsmeadow to uefa standards - there’s no point playing all the women’s games at the bridge it’s just a waste of resources.

Theres plenty of land around that area to develop, is the atheltics stadium thing still there too? What is from the bridge, about half an hour? Its just a shame theres sod all there, no pubs even close to the ground etc.

Like you I've been to the Bridge for the WSL and European matches. Whilst the atmosphere for WSL games is good as more stands are open I've found the atmosphere for the CL games a bit flat as only the West Stand is open. I'm not convinced that helps the players but could be wrong. I don't know what would be required to bring Kingsmeadow up to UEFA standards but knowing how the corrupt bastards in that organisation work probably lots of hospitality suites; oodles of space for broadcasters and a luxury hotel nearby. I'm a cynical bastard. 2 hours ago, dkw said: Theres plenty of land around that area to develop, is the atheltics stadium thing still there too? What is from the bridge, about half an hour? That is the Bricklayers Arms as you head towards Kingston and that was to watch the recent game against the Spuds. Went there after seeing the women play Brighton. It was okay but could have a wider choice of beer. There is a bar in Kingsmeadow and I went into it once. Not for a drink but to meet a couple of the players for a signing. The bar was okay but like the bars in Stamford Bridge not a great selection of beers. Here's hoping that when and if Stamford Bridge is redeveloped the choice of drinks is improved as at the moment it is cack. If I was in charge of the bars I would have at least half a dozen real ales, a selection of single malt whiskies and some fine wines, ports and gins. Edited December 17, 20241 yr by Boyne

December 17, 20241 yr Although saying that... Mrs banned me from riding motorbikes ages ago. My 7 Yr old has learnt how to ride a bike, so im thinking of buying myself one too. Ended up looking at electric bikes and wondering how much trouble would I get in if I buy a motorbike with pedals!? Still a bicycle...technically!

I had an operation on my right knee about 25 years ago and had some damaged tissue removed. Plays up every so often especially this time of year with the cold weather. If I stand in the same place for too long it can bloody hurt. My ST at Kingsmeadow is in the South Stand terracing so I have to stand for over two hours. I try and find a spot where I can lean against a railing or post. Let us know if you get the bike!

Unfortunately I can barely stand for a few minutes on my worst days. Hence the opioids which I do not like. I'm willing to do some crazy sh*t I my life but opioids scare me. I was in hospital with a broken shoulder when I saw that stupid channel 4 programme about opioid addiction in the States. So if I can I try and only take the light stuff and leave that stuff for the days it gets really bad. It must be hard for you at kingsmeadow..even with the leaning. I have one of those chairs that fold flat-ish which might help. Will send you a pm once I find a link for it. It fits in a tote size bag too. Found it before edit timer runs out... Lol I'm still looking... Two of the stands (West and North) at Kingsmeadow have seating. I did apply to move but was unsuccessful. I may try again at the end of this season. Bloody hell, that is bad if you can only stand for a few minutes on your worst days. I sometimes have to take pain-killers and rub on stuff like Deep Heat. Yes, taking stuff isn't easy or nice. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure about 25 years ago and have been on tablets to control it every since. Me and the people I go to the Bridge with are all of an age where we starting to feel our age. The youngest is 60 and the eldest is 72. Some have season tickets in the Shed Upper and have to stand. They are not happy with that. If the ground is redeveloped I think they will move to where they can sit.

I would somehow love to fastforward to ten maybe 20yrs from now where the women's have the bridge as home and we have this brand new insane stadium/village in earls court. How, or if, this is done needs a fk load of forward planning and even more fk loads of compromises and agreements. Which I just don't see happening! Unfortunately, I get this feeling the stadium issue will still be going on for a very long time but I'll hopefully get the updates while I stalk ppl as a ghost. Lol
December 17, 20241 yr It’s a shame the Bolton pub is gone now, that was a good one. Great selection of beers

December 24, 20241 yr Levi defended the decision to stop new senior citizen season tickets as it affects the 'business model...read on. "Last year we broke the £500m mark which puts us in the league of the eighth largest club in the world by revenue. But we’re still a long way away from some of our biggest competitors and that’s the gap we need to close in order to give more resources to our football teams.” Hmmmm. Firstly, if Tottenham’s “whole financial model” depends upon the season ticket revenue difference between adult and senior citizen pricing, even with revenues nearing £550m, something has gone badly wrong somewhere. Secondly, Spurs might be eighth in the world by revenue but they are 45th in Uefa’s latest coefficient rankings for five-year European performance and haven’t won a trophy in 16 years. Is that really due to needing more extra ticket revenue?
January 23, 20251 yr Matchday revenue was the fastest growing revenue stream, rising by 11% to £1.77bn, helped by an increase in stadium capacity, ticket prices and premium hospitality. Real benefited most from an increase in matchday revenues, generating £210m - double last year's figure - after renovation of their Bernabeu Stadium. Barcelona dropped from fourth to sixth after a £53m fall in matchday revenue, with games played at a smaller stadium while the Nou Camp is redeveloped. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c9qj0j87nlwo It's not the biggest revenue stream but... Idk, I'm still leaning towards different location but it hurts saying that. Edited January 23, 20251 yr by Simplymo
January 23, 20251 yr Nothing has changed on this, not even a whisper on it, 2 and a half years since the ownership took over. Don't think we will see a new stadium, or work done to the Bridge.

Even this laughable multi club model that they wanted to build in the Red Bull image. One other club and anyone else they approached told them to fck off.
