I'm afraid that spending billions on a new stadium will definitely not mean cheaper tickets. Spurs increased their ticket prices and also want to phase out and stop concessions to seniors and children. Roman's proposed stadium had a massive increase in premium seating . I can't remember the exact number , but that's what to expect. Arsenal again increased prices when they moved from Highbury to the Emirates.

Todd in that Bloomberg interview on what to do about the stadium, said we've got " 6 to 10 years to figure it out" , I'm interpreting that as meaning that it's never getting done.

True. Thinking they'll spend £1bn+ rebuilding the Bridge or £1.5bn+ on buying and redeveloping EC just to lower seat prices is delusional. It won't happen. (That last sentence could probably apply to any part of the preceding sentence).

Whilst there might technically by enough room to fit a larger new stadium on the site, it is probably nowhere near cost effective. Roman’s plans were never more than that and involved new walkways to Fulham Broadway and maybe even covering the railway line behind the East stand?

It would be much much cheaper (the sale of Stamford Bridge would probably cover a big chunk of it) and quicker to build a huge new stadium further out, but as the point of a larger stadium is to increase revenue, and would have a cost in itself, I can’t imagine cheap tickets will be a thing.

But anyway, I’m 50 and I don’t expect to see us in a new stadium at the Bridge or elsewhere. That certainly suits our aging season ticket holders (the oldest in the Prem) and the CPO.

In fact he said they had 16 to 20 years to sort it

So let's say 18 years to come up with a solid plan, 5 years to get permits and find contractors, 2 years to refinance due to risen costs, 5 years to build... 30 years to be ready for matches. Good, most of us will be dead and won 't see us become Harpenden Chelsea Tigers.

Sounds like he wants us to have a stadium like Spurs and Arsenal, as that is good for London. If the owners want it sounds like the mayor will make a redevelopment of Stamford Bridge OR moving the Earls Court project to the site of the Bridge and we get that land for a new stadium.

Either way he is basically pleading to make it happen.

I reckon the owners either do nothing on this, or agree to only if the CPO dissolves.

Apologies,.it's actually true!if he could make Earl's court happen I'd be well happy. The area could do with regeneration, that might be something in our favour
