obviously was displaced by Petr in goal but having saw some of his tweets recently and watched a montage on youtube got me thinking how much i liked him in goal. yes he made the occasional error but had we not signed Cech how do you think he would have coped in the Abramovich era?

Great goalkeeper, it's unfortunate his career never quite reached the potential it had.

Plucked from obscurity and for two years was the best keeper in the premier league.

Fantastic servant to the club.

great keeper he did fantastic for us . Think he is the only player to have gone to Rottenham from us I cold never dislike and always held in high regard ......................

..he did have one big weak spot and that was near post , never seemed to get that part of his game right .

I never understood why he went from Chelsea bench to go to Spurs bench.

As a keeper he was One of my Idols, that save against spurs (berbatov) anyone remember it?

Yes in the 4-4? my favourite save of his was away to Utd from a header from Van Nisteloory in the 2002-2003 season i think.

Cudicini was a magnificent goalkeeper, but unfortunately for him Cech was just a little better in the end. It was a privilege to watch Carlo in goals.

 

My favourite save was Jamie Redknapp's free kick from Spurs at the end of the game in the 2002-2003 season at White Hart Lane. 

I thought he was a cracking keeper for us to be honest.

He was a brilliant keeper - it says a lot about the sheer quality of Petr Cech that he dislodged him.

He owed it to himself to look for another club when it became clear Cech dislodging him was permanent.

 

But he stayed with us, and we had 2 of the best keepers in the league...by the time he went to Spurs (presumably thought he had more chance of first XI football there), he had spent enough time on the sidelines to lose all the momentum he had in those amazing seasons for us.

He was immense, he won a few golden gloves aswell but it says a lot about Cech cause he's better but Carlo would've walked into almost any team in the world when he was here

Must admit I was surprised when Cech replaced him straight away as he had been the best keeper in the prem and even rumours of him playing for England surfaced. Then after seeing Cech I understood and we then had the two best keepers in the prem. Sad to see him go to the spuds but what a top keeper and great servant to the club.

I remember when we first signed Cech i got annoyed because he was going to be our number 1 ahead of Cudicini........................it turned out well in the end

I remember a quote at the end of Cech's first first season about Carlo Cudicini, and I have to say I think it was true at the time. 'He was the best goalkeeper in the world, until he was replaced by a better one.'

I loved Carlo and remember being upset that Cech dislodged him! Didn't work out too bad after all I guess ha!
