To be fair, I hated Fabregas before he came here.

Really changed my opinion of him though, puts 100% in every time he wears the shirt.

I was always on board with signing Costa but then, I was with Balotelli too which goes to show that you win some and you lose some.

An excellent player. As mentioned before, Premier League experience, creativity and passing, enough defensive capability to play as a centre mid in a Jose Mourinho side. He ticks all the boxes for me. I'd be delighted if we had side with him and Matic holding.

 

Also, I don't care what teams any of our players have previously played for. It's all about what they do for us.

I think all of this conversation is based on the idea that Barca have said he's available for £30m. 

 

I think Fabregas can definitely take on the 'Modric Role' if we base it on Mourinhos' Real Madrid side and is probably one of the very few players who could do a better job than Modric. The problem I see is whether he'd be willing to join and for me it's all about Mourinho selling his vision for the Chelsea side to him.

Maybe Mourinho doesn't fancy that as it could be deemed as lightweight, but I don't think Fabregas is any worse defensively than Lampard is. That side would be on a par with the very, very best for me. Admittedly very unlikely to happen of course.

I don't think people disliking him was particularly unfair. I was never that fond of him, partly because of his time at Arsenal, and partly because of the celery incident. There have been far more asinine motives for hatred demonstrated by us all season, one that springs to mind is our apparent collective hatred for Burnley because of one challenge by one player, despite the fact that the team seems to be a good bunch.

 

That said, it seemed pretty obvious that we were sorely lacking a Fabregas-esque player in midfield last season. The cutting edge was never going to be Luiz (as much as we tried), and I have given up on my decade-long dream of signing Pirlo since Ancelotti left and the brilliant bar steward went to Juventus.

I thought you were Phil_Driver from talkchelsea. You guys had the exact same avatar, however you don't seem to hate Mikel like he did.

Cesc is nowhere near the twat he was at Arsenal, at Arsenal he used to always say sh*te about other teams and whinge and complain on the field. His bust ups with Lampard were annoying also, I believe he also spat at Michael Ballack also, and then the celery incident. 

 

I haven't seen that behavior here from him once, he seems calm and content most of the time, isn't a complainer, gets back up and gets on with it. Hasn't said a bad word about anyone either he has remained humble in every press conference yet when he used to be a snide prick at Arsenal. Either he matured more at and was similar at Barca or Mourinho has been a good influence on him, maybe both. I like the bloke now though and not only because he is a Chelsea player he seems a different person, he has gotten that stupid Arsenal pretty boy whinger out of his system. 

And a brilliant one too I may add. Ramires & Cesc had the slightest bit of eye contact, but they were on the same page. IMHO this goal defined CFC this Double Winning Season

His football intelligence is on a whole other level. If we wrap up the league sunday. I would like to see us play some relatively gung ho football and get him the assists record in the remaining games.

When we took the lead last night it lit a fire in Cesc he was just trying to create more goals. You can see this guy loves to play attacking football.
