If not Rooney,then who next?

Featured Replies

I am yet to be convinced that United would sell one of their best players to a rival. So in the event that they don't who do we think Jose will go after? Or will he just stick with Ba,Torres & Lukaku if we miss out?

Any of these high profile transfers require (in my opinion) that we sell Torres.

And provided that we can somehow offload Torres, then we should go with the man I have been rooting for all along.

Too slow, and a major tosser.

We should go with Suarez.

Yet he is also the greatest pure striker in the world right now.

I would prefer Suarez to Rooney though.

Ibra would be my first choice now anyway, since he's the right age to allow lukaku to become our main striker in a few years while easing the pressure on him. He's also in the top 3 strikers in the world at the minute. Ibra in.

Yet he is also the greatest pure striker in the world right now.

Pure striker? Oh dear. What does that mean exactly? Does it mean, for example, that Suarez is the greatest impure striker in the world right now? Or would that be Torres? Or someone else? You see my dilemma don't you? It's essentially concerns using this sort of adjectival drivel. Do us a favour, if you're going to sing the wares of a player, whether it be Ibrahimovic or Suarez etc. tell us why you feel that that player would work well for us in terms of our existing set-ups and style of play. It's not a lot to ask is it?

Not sure what I did to evoke such a furious response from you, ease up mate.

The pro's and con's of Rooney, Suarez and Ibrahimovic have been discussed at length throughout these forums and frankly I can't be arsed repeating myself, especially when in your reply you did a great job of not giving any opinion of your own or contributing anything at all to the topic.

I suppose what i'm trying to say in a roundabout way is f**k off.

Furious eh. hehe. look you're...so you say...rooting for your man. Why do you root for him in terms of us ? It's not an overly difficult question is it? You've been here what now....9 months. A tip, each thread should be considered in an by itself. That's all. Now do us a favour & answer the question so that the thread may develop. There's a good lad.

In terms of ability, I'm with you all the way.

In terms of attitude and temperament I'm a little unsure... it's for those reasons I don't want Rooney at the Bridge and I certainly wouldn't want to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. The flashes of attitude which I would once have found amusing in a man, albeit sometimes in a patronising way, I now find irritatingly immature and insecure and I believe that Jose would quickly tire of it too.

We have plenty of "personalities". I'm not sure that it would be good for team spirit and cohesiveness if we were to introduce a pretender to that particular throne.

I'd rather sign Ibra over Rooney tbh. I'd also take Drogba back which i know a lot of people dont want but he could help Lukaku no end. Just pair them up all the time and hope Lukaku picks up a few tricks.

Ha... we can dream, can't we Uno, we can dream...

PSG are saying they won't sell Ibra and personally I've more faith in the accuracy of that than I have in Moyes' claim that Rooney's not for sale... not that I'd rather the United man than Ibra.

I'd guess that failure to land Rooney will cause us to go with what we have. I'm not unhappy with that, not just because of my reservations about Rooney, but because I want to see Lukaku given a chance under Jose. I just hope to god the club doesn't go into panic and sign someone even more unsuitable and not worth the money paid for him than the current target just before the transfer window closes.

Who are you speaking on behalf of when you say 'us' out of interest?

Is there more than one of you or something?

If not then please don't try and speak on behalf of the forum  as personally I don't share your opinion and think the way you are trying to be patronising in your post is quite uncalled for and just makes you look like  abit of a bellend, no offence.

Oh dear.

Picked up on a plural. I'd warrant that a few of us would like some semblance of a developing thread. Will that do? Probably not since you're now on record as not agreeing with an opinion that posters should provide some detail in respect to the opinion they proffer. I am sorry if I've offended your coterie although I do find that your unswerving loyalty to various posters is rather charming nonetheless.

Please people explain me the attitude of Rooney. What is wrong with it? What has he done that has damaged ManU in some way?

Yes. Always somewhat perplexed by that notion as well. Usually, if not always, you get the ad hominem attacks on him from those already not disposed to seeing him play for us. These views are rarely backed up with a solid foundation.

For Rooney, see Terry in other fans eyes.

i.e he has no morals.

It's all a load of bollocks, none of us know these people and none of us are 100% on the truth behind these misdemeaners that either of these players have supposedly commited.

Why are you acting like a dick?

Not sure why you feel these types of responses are necessary.
