Really wanted to start this topic. So, what do you expect after the games from this spring 0-1 Away and 3-1 Home with them?

I think after the Basel game, we really do need to f**king win this, and we'll go out and take this game as seriously as we would one of the competitions big teams and win by 2 or 3 goals.

Definitely a must win or we might as well kiss the knock out stages goodbye.

Hopefully Schalke and Basel will draw. Then we can capitalise with a win against Schalke.

Agreed. This is our first must-win of the season.

 

1 point (or even worse, 0 points) from our first 2 games would leave us incredibly vulnerable, especially with 2 harder away games to go.

 

After this game the squad have a long(ish) rest before Norwich away on Sunday.

 

I would play our strongest team.

It'd be nice to see Hazard, Oscar and Mata back in the same team and get the synergy back from the last couple of seasons.

Amazing that we have a "must win" game this early already.  But it comes hot off the heels of teh Spuds game, so it will be interesting to see what the game is like tomorrow.  I fear some may have one eye on this game, and we'll see a turgid display at WHL

It was but it got us a point, we need more than that in Romania.

Torres and Mata both MUST start.

 

Torres has seemed to have hit a good streak and we need to make the most of it, he usually kicks ass in Europe as well.

Must win since we decided to cock up Basel at home.  We don't even want to be finishing second in our group because that just means tougher games earlier interrupting the league and we've got Schalke to contend with, so it's time to get the job done here.

 

Not sure about the lineup but Torres should get a start since he's banned in the league for a game and Europe is his forte.  I'd like to give Azpili and Bertrand some time, because Cole has been struggling and Dave does much more for our attack than Ivan.  Mata should be starting as well.

                             There is no doubt this is a must win game and we need to field a strong team.

Replace Ivan, Cole and Hazard with Dave, Bertrand and KDB for me. 

Going to be a tough game in a tough environment, but thankfully the two key players for Steaua last season, in my opinion, are gone, Rusescu and Chiriches.

 

That being said, I imagine it will still be a tight game and I would be happy to come away from it with a 1-0 win. And hopefully Mata will be on the scoresheet!

Fail to win this and I truly believe we will not make it to the next round.

I also never thought I'd see the day when we are pleading for Torres to start.  This fire he has all of sudden is showing....however he needs to keep it under control.  

I'm expecting a comfortable win this time, I said that about the last game but you win some lose some, I'm not that worried we still have another game. However if we don't win this it could get a tad bit worrying, depending on how Schalke do if I'm honest.

Can anyone confirm, but seemingly on twitter folk are saying Jose confirmed that Mata would start on Tuesday.

becoz this year im personally more interested in winning the premiereship i hate these early stage midweek matches in the european cup......Thoughts of injuries etc....makes me squirm

Just no Lampard please. He was pretty awfull against Tottenheim, and playing again after three days, he'd be a weak part again..

I would love to see Oscar or Essien next to Ramires/Mikel. Jose should start Ba too, why not, could give him some confidence if he links up well and gets, i don't know, maybe a shot or three on goal. And no matter what all of you say on here about Torres trying hard, it still won't change the fact that any striker we put up there is going to have a very difficult time to score a goal because of one reason or another.

The games are coming thick and fast now.

 

Feels like the season is beginning to get into full swing.

 

Need a win, a defeat and we are really in trouble.

Cech Ivan Luiz Terry Cole Mikel Ramires Schurrle Mata Willian Torres. Bit of pace on the wings with Ramires also a threat on the counter. Torres plays because he is suspended next weekend. Hazard and Oscar looked a bit tired on the weekend and could do with a rest.

Not in too much trouble yet. But we could do with a win.

Wanted to see KDB but it looks like he's been axed. In that case I'll agree with Spiller's lineup except for Bertrand on the left wing. 

Hopefully the pitch is better there on Tuesday night than it was when we played them there last season.
