January Transfer Predictions

Featured Replies

Definitely Mangala (if Porto don't qualify from their Champions League group).

Possibly Falcao (if we can beat Real Madrid and Monaco don't decide to hang on to him until summer)

Possibly Imbula (if we decide he's good enough).

For me a CM is the main priority, CB we are fine till end of season and LB can be sorted out in summer.CF we have Lukaku coming back next season.A player to buy for CM? Pogba would be my first choice but very unlikely to get him,Imbula is the most realistic.

If we are going to purchase anyone in Jan, then surely it has to be a midfielder. Doesn't have to be a big name just someone who can keep it simple and keep it flowing, the type of player we don't have at the moment and are crying out for.

Striker would be great but it can wait- it's the midfield that's the issue and is most pressing.

Still don't be surprised if there is no movement, it's that time of year when all sorts of hopes get raised up and expectations are there that we are going to do a 'Jan 2011' again. I don't see it this window, but I hope if it's anyone it's a half decent player for the middle.

I agree, if we do actually sign anyone I think it will be a player to play in the DM role. I've never been a fan of Mikel but him playing next to Frank allowed Frank the freedom to do what he does best. Ramie and Frank does not work for me.

Nobody.

Agreed unless we sell first.

Edit: Much as we called bs when they said it seems the press were right when they called it that Jose would not be too big a fan of Mata and Luiz, two players a lot of us thought our future would be built around. With the world cup coming up I could see both of them wanting moves in January if things do not change.

As much as it pains me to say it... I think we're going to lose Juan Mata in the January window.

As soon as he goes onto the market the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City are going to swoop and I mean swoop fast.

When he goes I think he'll either head back to Spain or head to new territory like the Bundesliga. Dortmund or Bayern would take him in a pinch and I'd much rather they got his services.

It'll be hard to accept when it happens but I think it's becoming increasingly obvious that it's going to happen.

I dont think there will be any transfer movement ,in or out.Hopefully Jose will sort out Luiz and his irrational play and Mata will get more game time and stay (please).Mikel can play the holding role imo.I also think our present strike force will chip in with enough goals and Lukaku looks sure to come back next season.Lets be thankful for what we have.

Chelsea wont sell Mata to another premier league team thats for sure.

How ever if someone like PSG came in with a 40 million pound bid then it might be considered.

As much as i like Mata and hope he stays and finds a way into the team i also trust Jose. So i Jose allows him to leave then he have to accept that its best for the team.

I have always been a massive fan of Luiz and use to tell people that he would become the best defender in the league and one of the best in the world. Now im not so keen. I dont think he has worked hard enough to correct the mistakes he often makes. To me this just seems lazy. If we got a good offer from a team abroad then i wouldnt be too sad if he was sold. I'd be sad to see the person leave but not the player.

Thats how i see it. Love Mata to death but we've got a £40 million player not playing and the longer that happens his value lowers. If this is going to carry on then id be up for selling as long as the money was spent on a part of the team that benefit from it , ie midfield.

Its a sad situation, but we all wanted Jose back and if he doesnt fancy Mata for one reason or another then we have to trust him.

If we sell Mata to a premier league rival it will come back to bite us, this is inevitable.

In time he can earn his place in the team, he just has to be patient.

Wont sell to another PL side, think Sturridge for a moment!!

Studge was in the last 6 months of his contract and could have left for free if we hadnt sold him. You would think also him being English he would have opted to stay in England.

Mata on the other hand has years left on his deal and maybe happy to move to another country again. He does love life in London so we are told but im sure Paris would be nice for him also if we were to sell him.

My point is we do not have to sell him and if we choose to then we can make sure he wont be going to a title rival. I can only really think of PSG willing to stump up the amount of cash it would take for us to sell him.

I read that Juve have asked to take him on loan, why on earth would we bother doing that? It would be no use to us what so ever unless we plan to bring in other players in Jan and need the squad space.

a straight swap for pogba?

Please elaborate

If we wanted to sell Mata we could do better than a straight swap for Pogba, not to mention he's not really the sort of midfielder we need at this moment in time anyway.

And from Juventus point of view, they are the hardiest working team in Europe when it comes to workrate. If Jose doesn't fancy him here then he's got no chance at Juventus. He'll have no place in their 352 formation or the 433 formation they are planning on changing to.

A hard working physical CM, who doesnt shy away from tackles and is a solid passer is not the sort of midfielder we need?

Who the hell is then?

Apparently Juve want Mata. Are they really pursuing a player that has no chance in their team?
