February 2, 201511 yr Germany's transfer window closes at 5pm today so if Andre is indeed off, expect it to be confirmed fairly early today. And he needs to be on the transfer list until 12:00 a.m. german time which is not the case yet. So if he is not there in 78 minutes, the deal is definitely off. Edited February 2, 201511 yr by Uxanga
February 2, 201511 yr If Costa is up front and that isn't working I'm not sure what Remy changes. Personally I'd bring on Drogba if you wanted to add another striker. But if you wanted to change the midfielders and look to get a goal from there, would anyone bring on Willian ahead of Schurrle? No. When you are chasing the game towards the end, you bring on the player with the greater goal threat which is Schurrle. We do need an impact player off the bench and Schurrle can be that at times, I just dont see him as a starter and the money being offered is too good for a player like that.
February 2, 201511 yr His father and agent are in Wolfsburg right now. Wolfsburg just called a presser for 12:30. So I guess they'll probably announce the deal then. Good bye Andre and good luck!
February 2, 201511 yr I said months ago that he was off, too flakey for my liking, nothing against the fella personally.think he may have been a bit homesick.
February 2, 201511 yr Good luck to him, got a feeling we'll regret this.I don't. He had his chances, didn't take em. We have no chance as a club of our stature to keep misfiring players.Good luck Andre!
February 2, 201511 yr I don't. He had his chances, didn't take em. We have no chance as a club of our stature to keep misfiring players. Good luck Andre! For us not to regret it he'd have to go on and become worse at Wolfsburg and I just can't see that happening. Never thought he had a fair shot here, he's the kind of player who needs a run of games to find form I think and he hasn't been able to do that this season.
February 2, 201511 yr I don't. He had his chances, didn't take em. We have no chance as a club of our stature to keep misfiring players. Good luck Andre! If you believe the stories about the illness, then it's hard to expect him to be great straight off the back and he only featured in 433 minutes of Premier League football. That's less than Mikel and Ramires. In the Champions league he got less minutes than Drogba. Despite that he's still like out joint 4th or 5th top scorer. Just hasn't worked out but we'll make a profit and reinvest that hopefully on someone good, and not another Salah.
February 2, 201511 yr He also always had an exceptional attitude, no complaining, no moaning, no slamming chairs like a little bitch and got very important goals for us. Deserves nothing but good wishes from Chelsea supporters.

Deserves nothing but good wishes from Chelsea supporters. Absolutely, and he deserves to be more than a bit part player here, which is what he would have become with Cuadrado also coming in. He's the type of player and person that I think every fan would want to see go on and do well and I'm no different. Good luck Andre.
February 2, 201511 yr Just read this on the BBC website The Wolfsburg branch of German tabloid Bild tweets a picture of Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs, who is reported to have said he was "relaxed" as negotiations over the transfer of Andre Schurrle from Chelsea continue. Allofs was present at a press conference this morning and German magazine Kicker (in German) reported him as saying Wolfsburg "have done everything" to conclude the deal for Schurrle. "It's about money and we are waiting for Chelsea's decision." Meanwhile the Bild website (in German) is reporting the total cost of the Schurrle deal will come in at close to £50m... Surely that can't be true? Even the most ardent fans of Schurrle can't really value him that highly can they? I suspect that this isn't true or if it is, it probably depends on him scoring a double hatrick in the next world cup final or something. Must say, we do seem to be getting good at getting big sums for the players we sell.

February 2, 201511 yr Oh, I see. The total cost to Wolfsburg, not what Chelsea will receive. That makes more sense. I was thinking about those clauses where you pay more down the line if they win titles or make so many international appearances and so on. Edited February 2, 201511 yr by Snedger

February 2, 201511 yr I don't. He had his chances, didn't take em. We have no chance as a club of our stature to keep misfiring players. Good luck Andre! That's harsh. There have been plenty of misfiring players over the last couple of seasons who still keep getting chances. Schurrle always seemed to do better when coming off the bench but I think his goals to minutes on pitch ratio must have been pretty decent. Wish him all the best. Edited February 2, 201511 yr by Nibs
February 2, 201511 yr Have we said our goodbyes too soon? Time is running out for Wolfsburg to seal Schurrle switch from ChelseaWe may still be going until 11pm (and probably beyond) but the Germany transfer window closes at 5pm. That means Wolfsburg are running out of time to complete a deal to sign Andre Schurrle from Chelsea. The clubs appear to still be haggling over a £24million fee despite the player agreeing terms with the club.
February 2, 201511 yr I think it's 6pm it closes mate, at least that's what it said on Sky. But still regardless time is running out.
February 2, 201511 yr Be gutted if the cuadrado deal falls through. But if we somehow managed to keep schurrle, sign cuadrado, and Salah went the other way, we have a much stronger squad.
