January 26, 201511 yr Andre Schurrle wants to leave Chelsea for Wolfsburg, according to Sky sources. The German World Cup winner, who joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2013, has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga since the transfer window opened earlier this month,Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said last week he expects to reach the end of the window with the same squad but admitted a departure is possible in the event of "a phenomenal offer and a player super keen of accepting the challenge." Both those criteria could be fulfilled if Wolfsburg agree to pay the £22.5m-plus Chelsea want, and although there has been no formal offer to date we understand progress is being made. Wolfsburg are currently second in the Bundesliga, and Schurrle sees the 2009 champions as Bayern Munich's likeliest challengers. As many as five clubs are thought to be interested in the 24-year-old forward, who scored his fifth goal of the season at Swansea recently. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/9673220/transfer-news-chelsea-forward-andre-schurrle-wants-wolfsburg-move
January 26, 201511 yr Well, sad to see him go, but his form hasn't been anywhere near good enough. Gave us some great moments, scored probably the goal of the season for us this year, and I went absolutely wild when he scored the second against Arsenal. Great guy, and still young enough to have a wonderful career
January 26, 201511 yr Set to miss tomorrow's game according to current rumours with a return to Germany excepted by the end of the month.
January 26, 201511 yr Sad that he's going because if our starting three are going to be Hazard, Oscar and Cuadrado then I'd always go for Schurrle coming off the bench if we were looking to change the game. Unfortunately he's just not found the consistency needed here and we'll sell him for profit. Not the worst result in the world but I really wanted it to go better for him.
January 26, 201511 yr Gutted. I think he has the potential to be a very good winger who can score like 25 goals a season. He is direct, has killer instinct in front of goal, good movement & he's just 24 years old having his best years ahead of him. But sadly he hasn't been given enough chance this season to prove himself. It's strange of Jose why he kept on playing that brain fade player Willian again and again despite no signs of him improving at all. If he had got as much as chance as Willian got he would have been better. Good luck Andre. Adios. I would have much liked if Salah/Willian have left rather than you... but sadly it wasn't meant to be. All the best.
January 26, 201511 yr Hope I'm proven wrong but I really don't see how Cuadrado is an upgrade on Schurrle.
January 26, 201511 yr Looks like he's off then. Willian had better step the f**k up otherwise fans are going to start asking some serious questions.
January 26, 201511 yr Hope I'm proven wrong but I really don't see how Cuadrado is an upgrade on Schurrle. He's shown a better touch than Schurrle has this season to be fair. Scored a lot last season too, although I think that Schurrle would replicate those numbers if given the chance.
January 26, 201511 yr Pretty gutted about this if I'm honest. One we will definitely regret, I still don't think we have seen the best of him, would have been a great addition to the side. Nevermind though.
January 26, 201511 yr Like most of you pretty disappointed as i like Schurrle and was one of the people that wanted us to buy him. He has been poor this season though but he doesn't get too many opportunities to play on his fav left wing position so he can cut in and shoot which is his main attribute. He will get goals where ever he goes thats why clubs are willing to pay big bucks for him. I still think Mourinho likes him but his form has been poor and the offer is too good to turn down. Thats now Mata KDB and Schurrle 3 players who i really liked all gone.
January 26, 201511 yr absolutely devastated if this is true. Schurrle showed at the World Cup that he is a boy with the world at his feet, and unlike KDB and others, he also seems to have the right attitude. A humble, hard-working boy who does and says all the right things. we should be doing everything possible to keep him with the club. loan him if needs be, but selling him would be criminal
January 26, 201511 yr Much like David Luiz he is a lovely character but not good enough and should the right price come in for him then we should sell for sure.
January 26, 201511 yr I'm hoping this is still just speculation. He should at lest be given until the end of the session to prove his worth. Hope he stays
January 26, 201511 yr That would be 40 Mil Euros considering the current exchange rate. I doubt that Golfsburg would pay that much.

IMHO Schurrle is a Jose type of player. True he might be a bit selfish, but he can do a job when asked.

Thats now Mata KDB and Schurrle 3 players who i really liked all gone. I didn't want us signing him, I recall discussing it with you when we were linked with him, but he slowly won me over. Given a run of games he could become good player for us, he won't get that though for whatever reason.
January 26, 201511 yr Much like David Luiz he is a lovely character but not good enough and should the right price come in for him then we should sell for sure. Maybe. I think he's definitely good enough to come off the bench if we're chasing a game and get a goal. He's a matchwinner and a game changer. I think that's a very valuable thing to have in the squad but the money on the table is hard to turn down when you need to buy a right-winger. Ideally we'd flog Willian and buy Cuadrado but no-one is offering £30 million for him so it looks like we need to sell Andre to comply with FFP. Wish him the best if he leaves.
January 26, 201511 yr disappointed it hasn't worked better for him, I don't think he is good enough though personally, but I would hope salah left before schurrle. Good player on his day, but those days are too irregular, and the thing with schurrle is, when he is poor he is very poor. There is no middle ground with him.
January 26, 201511 yr Maybe after the mystery illness Schurrle has had a change of heart too... Started the season as first choice and in good form but after missing a lot of football he's clearly struggling. Perhaps he sees returning to Germany as a good way to kickstart his season and career again.

This mystery illness may have something to do with it, it could be an off field problem.
January 27, 201511 yr According to bild.de Dortmund are in the mix to get Schürrle. But they wouldn't pay that much, I guess. They'd probably pay something up to 25 Mil. Euros.
