The problem would be replacing Schuerrle. At the moment, it seems much smarter to keep him than gamble on another overvalued winger. I don't see any obvious player that could come in and start in the first team at RM for a practical price.

We're going to need him playing good football again this Spring if we're winning the league. Too many competitions for Hazard and Willian to play every match.

Look, Schürlle hasn't been good enough this season, but he needs more of a run in the team, so he can build up some consistency, it's no good playing him now and again, he should start ahead of Willian in my opinion, he carry's much more of a goal threat than Willian. Cannot help but like the bloke but he must improve to play more.The ability is there but he must find consistency.Really hope he can step up but i need convincing and so does Jose.

It's looking quite bleak now, his form just isn't good enough and it seems every time he's played he's taken off at half time. Hate to see him struggle but his chances won't be helped by Willian scoring today.

Yeah my mate just texted and said everyone around him was very happy to see him dragged off at half time.

Shame because i still like him but i get the feeling he could be sold now this month. The only good thing i suppose is we could still possibly make a profit on him if we did sell.

Sad really, he's a guy who it's hard not to really like, but he just isn't showing his ability.

I'll he disappointed if he does go as I do think he will come good, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Strange given that Schurrle, Remy and Salah are all Mourinho's signings and yet he has so little faith in all of them.

I don't recall Schurrle being this inconsistent before his illness, wtf was wrong with him? Personally I think he should have had longer off after the WC but I'm not a fitness expert. I'd like for him to get more playing time (same with Rambo but that's a different story) because I think his decision making and accuracy will come good again.

From what i've seen these past weeks, Schurrle just doesn't seem a good fit for our style of play. I think we'd see the best of him if we reverted back to 04/05's 4-3-3 (which I can't see happening as Mou seems content with 4-2-3-1, i.e. in an attacking sense it seems to bring the best out of Hazard, Fabregas and to a lesser extent Willian). Despite his recent form, would still like to see him stay until the summer at least...

I'd like for him to get more playing time (same with Rambo but that's a different story) because I think his decision making and accuracy will come good again.

I'm not so sure gem, I thought he was pretty inconsistent last season aswell. It took him a while to get going which was under stable in the circumstances, but I can only think of 6 games last year where he showed real quality, Stoke home, arsenal at home,Fulham away, psg at home, man city at home, and bayern in the super cup.

Those games were spread out through the season, and in between them were performances similar to this season.

After his good performances for Germany, I thought he would kick on this season, but he is still making the same mistakes. Obviously the illness hasn't helped, but it looks like a long way back for him to earn mourinho's trust again.

Agree with that. It seems the more control we have with Matic and fabregas, the less effective schurrle will become.

Its a question of whether we need a player that fits into our plan a, or player that offers a good plan b.

Exactly and before that he played in two counter attacking teams in Mainz and Leverkusen which suits him. To be fair to Schurrle he has never really had much of a chance obviously because of Hazard to play on his favourite left wing position so he can cut inside and shoot.

 

Its a shame because i still really like Schurrle i just know he's capable of so much more and i know he can get us a lot of goals because of his finishing and movement.Those 2 attributes of his are quite unique.

Yeah movemwnt and finishing are obviously Schurrles best attributes. Hes a good player to have in the fonal third, bit when hes not shooting or making runs in the box is a fairly average footballer. With how much we seem to control the fotball this year he doesnt doesnt fit. We are a better team without him and I hope for both the club and Andres sake that someone makes a solid offer for him

He really has lost his mojo...I rate the guy but the way he's underperforming, won't be surprised if we cash in come the summer
