February 26, 201511 yr Pretty typical move from Salah there - Fiorentina clear a corner to Salah, who sprints forward... and then runs straight into two Tottenham defenders.
February 26, 201511 yr Quality goal from Salah. Just finished Tottenham's Thursday night European adventure for another year. Hope Cuadrado can score a few like that for us. Edited February 26, 201511 yr by just
February 26, 201511 yr He's a much better player then people think.. But at 21 going from best player in your league you need games
February 26, 201511 yr Maybe a stint in Italy will do him good, still don't see him returning to the club though. Once a player goes they don't come back, I think Jose is quite stubborn like that.
February 26, 201511 yr Matic? Was sold when Carlo was here. If Jose rates you, you don't leave, not even on loan. Closet was probably Smertin who was on loan for a year immediately after signing so that he could adapt to the Premier League
February 26, 201511 yr He's not that bad a player is it? So we swapped player with them with an extra 26M, so far it turned out they got the better player.

February 27, 201511 yr Well his doing his part, as a chelsea player on loan. Good on him knocking spurs out :D
February 27, 201511 yr If he does really well then i think he could return. Maybe this loan move is what he needs to become a top player.
February 27, 201511 yr What about Alex? Bought under Ranieri I believe and loaned in Holland until he qualified for a work permit. Didn't play for Chelsea and then leave on loan and then return. I don't think any player has returned from being sent on loan to establish themselves in the first team squad under Jose?
February 27, 201511 yr Good luck to Salah and all, but he strikes me as one of those players that can't cope with the pressure of playing for a club in the spotlight...Basle, Fiorentina, the Europa league - it's good but it's not exactly great is it...appreciate he didn't get a lot of chances under Jose, but fact is, when he did, he stunk the place out...he disappeared in matches and didn't look up for the fight at all...remember his last game v Bradford?...exactly...some players are better at being big fish in small ponds, we have seen plenty of those kind of players come and go over the last decade and he is another one of them...best thing about his early form at Fiorentina (apart from knocking spurs out of Europe...again) is that if he keeps it up we should at Least get or money back,if not make a profit...unlike another player with similar characteristics, the woeful marko Marin Edited February 27, 201511 yr by The Brit

February 27, 201511 yr Zouma was on loan last season if that counts. Nope, he's not gone on loan after having played for Chelsea. What I am saying is, with Salah as the example, I can't think of player we've bought, he's come and played for us.... Then go on loan and then returned to the club to become a part of the squad. So for example if Moses came back, he would count. Did it happen with Crespo, did he go on loan to Milan then come back and play for us or did he spend three consecutive season on loan?
February 27, 201511 yr He is still fairly young so time is on his side. Maybe a run of games will see him flourish, a game every month or so was never going to do him any good.
February 27, 201511 yr As much as I appreciate any player who scores against Tottenham, we shouldn't forget that his goal came as a result of some truly catastrophic defending from Vertonghen, plus the numerous chances and counters he wasted with poor decision-making. He also managed to give the ball away eight times, which was more than anyone else on the pitch. Ultimately he made the difference (and in hilarious style) but I don't think his performance was really much of a departure from what he did for us. I hope he proves me wrong but I am still very much unconvinced.

He came back 05-06 how could you forget lol I think Jose wanted him to stay but he just couldn't settle to life in England.
February 27, 201511 yr He came back 05-06 how could you forget lol I think Jose wanted him to stay but he just couldn't settle to life in England. I couldn't remember if he played two consecutive seasons for us. So looking back Crespo was maybe the only player Jose sent on loan and then recalled him to play at Chelsea? He was initially sent out on loan, albeit because he was apparently struggling to settle into life in England and wanted to return to Italy, came back the following season as 2nd striker with Drogba but was still homesick from Italy and then returned there again. Was gutting he never fully settled here because he was undoubtedly a brilliantly striker. Does make you wonder what could have happened if he had settled and Mutu didn't decide to Class A drugs were good idea. Would Drogba have ended up at Chelsea?

I think he would have Mutu's style of play doesn't strike me as what Jose liked from a forward.
