It was touched-on by Holland that Matic's only real weakness, recognised when he rejoined the club, is his lack of aggression in aerial duals - for someone of his size.

We're now seeing him become more effective during attacking free-kicks. He's attacking the ball and consequently scored against Sporting. Beast.

Tony Gale seems to have a verbal orgasm every time Matic touches the ball. He can't stop extolling his virtues. For my money, in the space of 12 months he's become the best DM in the EPL.

Dont be silly! The price wasnt going to get in the way. 21 mill isnt much in football for a top club like Chelsea now days.

We are finally seeing round pegs in round holes. Playing Ramie in a DM role isnt right, he just is wasted there and doesnt do the job right. We are moving on from the 4-3-3 and we are getting the right players to play 4-2-3-1 now. Its good to see.

Matic has been a brilliant signing for the club. We shouldn't have sold him the first time round but what's done is done and it's just good that we brought him back.

 

I agree with another poster who says that Matic is the closest player we've seen that resembles Claude Makelele who was a brilliant defensive midfielder and was massive in us winning titles in 2005 and 2006. 

 

Matic has loads of improvement left in him so the future looks bright. Imagine if we signed Pogba and the two played alongside each other. No one would get past us!

Pogba signed a 5 year deal yesterday so that seems unlikely now.
