Very easy to say not easy to do. It was a reaction to a career ending tackle, it's not somehting you can train. Jose can tell Hazard how to act when he gets tackled but can't control what he does if something tries to break his legs

There is so much wrong with that comment I don't even know where to begin.

That's how I'm feeling right now. After my initial outrage over the injustice of the situation (not so much the red card but Barnes getting off scot free), my general feeling is relief that Matic wasn't hurt; the way his leg bent it must have been a whisker from snapping in two. 

 

The fact that Matic will probably miss the League cup final is secondary. We can manage without him for a few games, it could so easily have been much worse.

The argument could go the other way; he should get more fired up due to the money he earns.

A career ending tackle will probably cost somebody like Matic £20,000,000. Imagine losing that amount of money because the ref is extremely incompetent.

I've been looking at this comment for ten minutes and i'm still staggered at how stupid it is.

every outsider has jumped to matic's defence yet there's still a few of our own supporters having a go at matic. Matic's reaction was never a red card anyway, even if you take away from the fact he nearly had his leg broke. How many players have been sent off for pushing someone in the chest this season? I think a yellow would be harsh given the circumstances.

i've seen some sh*t posted on here but that tops the lot, it's beyond belief really.

The guy almost ended Matic's career in addition to the fact that was the third time this game Barnes intentionally tried to injure a CFC player with the ref doing not a single f**king thing.  Lets see what the FA does about his near leg snapper on Matic or when he jump-stamped on Ivanovic or when he tried the same on Zouma with his knee.  None of those are natural body movements and all are clearly intentional.  

 

This better be the last BPL game this ref handles because his incompetence could of had drastic consequences and aside from all the mistakes, this ref clearly has no intent on protecting players from terrible and dirty challenges.

He will be banned for 3 games and Barnes will be let off the hook.

It's almost a certainty.

I'd ban the vile rodent from football because today all he seemed to do was try to end opposition players careers.
