Nemanja Matic - Great Player?

Featured Replies

What a reaction by him. Could f**k up our rest of the season. We haven't got any other player who can play the role he plays. Especially against Spurs, who thrashed us in January will now even get more space.

Well done Nemanja Matic.

Blame the bloke on the end of a potentially career ending tackle that received no protection whatsoever from the officials.

Knob.

Great quote on twitter:

Forget a three game ban, Matic is lucky that he's going to play again this season.

Numpty.

I can just about understand the reaction (though I'm still pissed off that he did it) but people need to stop asking that we appeal that.

It was quite clearly a red.

That's right, the tackle that Ings made was very dangerous, but Matic couldn't lose his brain and receive a stupid red card which made a bad result for us and might probably hit us in future.

tottenham beat us by 2 goals hardly a thrashing.

Let's see what your reaction will be when we lose to Spurs because of him. That's how much we are dependent on him. The tackle was definitely bad no doubt, but you as a top class player don't lose your cool like that especially in such a vital phase of the season, which could make or break our season.

Thought he was smarter than that to be honest, you can't let things like that wind you up as any player should know perfectly well that you can't always rely on the ref to get everything right.

Note that a) Matic wasn't the only player fouled by Barnes today; neither Terry or Ivanovic(?) reacted like he did, and b) it wasn't even the worst of the fouls - he has been very silly and it has cost us dearly.

Let me stamp on your shin with studded boots and see how happy you are about it.

If we lose to Spurs because some c**t trying to break Matic's leg and the ref didn't do anything about it then my thoughts will be as follows.

1. f**k Spurs

2. f**k Barnes

3. f**k Atkinson

Take note that the name Nemanja Matic does not feature on the list.

good to see the optimists are still onside. :good2:

Sure, If I was a player I would not have reacted like that at all, knowing my absence could very well fk up our season especially in such a vital phase.

We've already dropped 2 points because of that.

I know we deserved 2 clear penalties.... it's because of his reaction we dropped those 2 points which would have lead us further to the title.

I suppose there's no chance of that being reduced to 1 game is there? It was a push, not a punch or anything, hardly overly violent.

If Barnes isn't done respectively on that then the FA are done. Confirmed incompetent.

I can see you've never played football or at the very least never been seriously injured playing football.

How can they uphold that red, when the same panel, said Ivanovic wouldn't have been sent off for that McCarthy incident. If Atkinson is happy with that performance he's in the wrong profession. ref's have cost us 4 points now this season, after the fabregas 'dive'.

I think it's gonna take a player pulling out a gun and shooting costa in front the shed, before we get a penalty in the league. These decisions will not even out over the season.

He'll be carded for jumping in front of the bullet (anticipating impact and going down).

He raised his knee and leg while jumping in the fouls against JT and Ivan, I wouldn't compare that to the leg breaker he gave to Matic.

Not the worst of fouls? Completely disagree there, not only was it the worst foul of the match it's one of the worst fouls I've seen all season.

He didn't raise his leg he led with his studs right into Ivanovic's hamstring, again that was in no way accidental, no-one jumps like that unless they intentionally chose too.

Like there have never been any tackles like this before? Forgot Hazard's one against Stoke?

Anyway I dun't think I can express my opinion here before getting attacked by any other member here. Peace out.

Looked like he raised his leg to jump and then extends his foot but I'll have to see it again.
