Nemanja Matic - Great Player?

according to MOTD barnes on ivanovic was ivan milking it.....idiots

They did also say it was nasty by Barnes and should have been a yellow card.

Not sure what more you could ask for.

MOTD choose not to show the attack on Zouma....

But did say Barnes should have been sent off, we should have had two penalties and that the penalty shout from Burnley was rightly not given.

So on balance they were fighting our corner with their limited screen time.

That was Pearce. In the studio, both Savage and Shearer agreed that Barnes had kicked out at Ivan. How the hell they saw it as a yellow not a red is beyond me, and Lineker didn't even question them on it.

They were, though, very supportive of José's view of the ref and agreed we had four huge grievances today. Which is a huge improvement on Hansen's opinion on the Mike Dean display v Sunderland last season, which was shameful.

should point out I posted that while watching the match highlights not the post match analysis, and the commentator did claim Ivan was milking it without pointing out how bad a challenge it was.

A bloke on 5live reckons referees are told to avoid giving a card during a game if they are unsure whether its a yellow or red so the FA can take retrospective action. Hope that happens although it seems like bollocks.

that is absolutely ridiculous. even if barnes gets a retrospective suspension, it does nothing for us, we still lost 2 points which we probably wouldve won

As Barnes is jumping towards Ivanovic, he cocks his leg and then forcefully extends it into Branislav's leg.  I've done that same maneuver in martial arts.  There is absolutely ZERO possibility that that was a product of his jump to head the ball.

yep looks like a jumping side kick IMHO - look how barnes bends his knee, like it was a loading action & then release his foot into Brana's leg w/ full force

Fair enough, what we've got to remember is, is Tha Jonathan Pearce is a useless c**t who has been stealing a living impersonating a footballing commentator for years.

That he is probably best remembered for being the bloke who commentated on Robot Wars tells you all you need to know about him.

Almost a 90 degree pop into the hamstring, could have been nasty.

If there is no retrospective ban given to him for any of the 3 nasty tackles (I haven't seen the foul on Zouma yet), then there is something wrong with the FA

It really is beyond belief, the Matic one is disgusting.

on the Matic suspension - assuming our appeal fails, what's our best combination against Spurs?

My fear is Spurs will just run past Cesc. I just can't see Jose using RLC or Ake if he has the option of Mikel but the extent of his knee injury isn't clear.

How about moving Ivanovic up to DM with Ramires and have Dave, Terry, Zouma, Filipe Luis in Defense.  Then have Willian, Fabregas, Hazard and Costa in attack.

Well there is no input from Rednapp, so don't expect any punishment to barnes

could we go 4-3-3? - usual back 4 - a midfield of willian - mikel - ramires and a front 3 of hazard - costa/remy and cuadrado

ramires might not be right here? - maybe Cesc instead

West Ham away is 3 days after the cup final. I'd like to think that Loftus - Cheek would get a chance on one of these two fixtures. Despite his age I'm sure he's probably still got more to offer than Mikel.

What a fcukwit pearce was...first saying Ivan made a meal of it then saying cfc are masters of the dark arts...what the? A Kung fu kick to the back of the knee...seconds later he laughs off the handball appeal..them for Matic red card, he says it was cos of frustration...no it was cos that scumbag tried to break his fcuking leg

Ivan did make a deal of it. You don't roll around and then get back up two seconds later like everything is ok.

Stop being so precious.

If there is no retrospective ban given to him for any of the 3 nasty tackles (I haven't seen the foul on Zouma yet), then there is something wrong with the FA

is there actually any doubt somethings wrong with the FA either way?

not sure what you're implying - don't you believe commentators and pundits treat us fairly or something???

it's pretty clear that the media are creating a negative persona for our club - you have to have somebody to hate why shouldn't it be Chelsea?

I honestly think there is a narrative amongst the football media that goes something like this - " Chelsea ruined the media love-in with Liverpool last season so if Jose crashes and burns this season it'll be some kind of karma - let's make it as difficult for him as possible."

If we do win the title this season it will be an amazing achievement against the constant media campaign against the club and the impact that is having on officials.
