If it was me i dont think id do the deal myself with a swap.  Reason i said so is i have never been convinced Mourinho is "overly" keen on Oscar.  And i definitely dont think he rates Cuadrado

Must like him enough to have got shot of Mata, KDB, Schurrle, Salah, Moses on loan twice and looking to get rid of Cuadrado and yet retained Oscar as a regular starter.

These 4455 players for player x plus £20million are spouted every summer in the papers and never happen. The main reason being that if you're a top European club, worsening your squad for one top player is suicidal.

perhaps no one has yet offered the money itd take to sell Oscar? Id have sold Mata for 40m at the time, and kdb for 18m too. And if i got offered 35ish now for oscar, id sell. i rate him myself but just never been convinced with jose as i said

Only works when you throw a penny arrow bar, 2 Mojo's and a black jack into the deal.

If Oscar is needed to close this deal, do it already. Omg Oscar, lol. People who still think he will come good need a reality check. What excuse are we gonna use this year? Up until now it's always been that he didn't have pre season, can't use that anymore...

...or people, like Juventus have this summer, have inquired but been told he's not for sale?

Only last week Mourinho said he wants Oscar playing the #10 role more frequently.

Reading through the previous few pages, I actually wonder how many of you watched a full 90 minutes of Pogba. All of a sudden we have Pogba-experts trying to tell us that he'll offer defensive work next to Matic. He's never even played in a pivot at Juve as we normally play. Now I'm not saying he couldn't do it and I don't doubt that he can pick up the ball from deep and distribute, I'm just saying consider this before some you say he'll have the discipline to cover the space in front of his midfielders. Even Cesc has had difficulty numerous times as we all know which is why it's important for Oscar to drop back and support his midfielders. As such it's also important to note that Vidal and Marchisio did a lot of the dirty work in Juve's midfield, which allowed Pogba and Pirlo space to operate.

Cannot compare as Oscar plays further forward. Pogba would add defensive stability, Physicality, Mobility. None of which Oscar offers.

There it is that key term, defensive stability. I rarely watch Juve and even I know that Pogba isn't known for his defensive stability as you put it.

As you can see from this tactical perspective provided by Zonal Marking, Vidal's typically plays on top of the diamond, worked hard in defense to win the ball back and launch counter attacks. Pogba normally plays as a flank midfielder -- his job is usually to drop and help the full back or to occupy space left by Vidal as you can see from here when Juve counter attack outlined by Zonal Marking.

Anyway what's my point? I'm just trying to provide a counterpoint to the Pogba-experts saying we'd be solid in the middle. If we end up with Pogba, we'd probably have to switch to a 4-3-3 because it would offer a more defensive stability and from my understanding of how he's played in the past, he'd find more comfort playing on either side of a sitting midfielder. He has rarely if ever played in a pivot in a 4-2-3-1. I'm not saying he can't play the pivot, but we can probably get more out of him if he has other midfielders alongside him.

Guys I've worked it out.

Juve supposedly want Cuadrado, we want Pogba, Juve ain't selling Pogba, so what should we do?

Sell them Cuadrado before they change their f**king mind.

I think we're overrating Pogba a bit here.

He's 22 and already world class. It's not unlikely that he will become one of the best in the world, he has hints of Zidane about him already. I don't think he's overrated at all

Why doesn't someone photo-shop him in a Chelsea shirt just to confirm it. :indifferent0018:  ......this is getting f**king hilarious now.... :happy001: even Torres wasn't this bad...or long

Talk about people on here overhyping Stones, you guys are severely overhyping Oscar.

Yes when he is in form he is truly magnificent to watch, but how often has that been since we signed him. All of us thought this would be his year since he had a full summer off but now he is "injured". On top of that where would you play him now that we have Pedro?

The same people who praise Willian for his tireless work rate are the same people who praise Oscar for his " talent".

Unfortunately you cannot have them both playing unless you drop Matic, Fabregas, Hazard or Pedro.

Then if Pogba does come in that is one more person that you would have to drop for somebody like Oscar or Willian to crack the starting XI.

Pogba is significantly better than Oscar is and that isn't just my opinion. There is a reason he is being linked with Barcelona and PSG.

I'd drop Pedro all day long talk about over hyped jees Pedro is good at best, yes he has 'end product' against teams like Elche but his main attribute when he did on the odd occasion play for Barce was his work rate remind you of a certain Brazilian of a similar age who is premier league proven.

And if Pogba does come I'd have Oscar in the team over Fabregas, Oscar just does more and is a better all round player Fabs passing is second to none but his all round game is currently lacking.

I love how you use PSG as a marker for Pogba being better were they not looking for Oscar last season until they were told f**k off not for 100 mill

This, if it happened, would probably be the most high profile signing we've ever made. We need to get Marina Granovskaia to do whatever crazy russian tricks she pulled to sell Luiz for 50 million and land Pogba. If we could lose Ramires and Cuadrado in the deal (not that I dislike ramires) i'd say that would be a solid piece of business. COME ON

Considering you say you don't watch juventus, you seem pretty convinced pogba is not very good defensively?

I've seen him play a fair bit in the last 2 seasons, I think he could play comfortably in any position in midfield, holding, anchor, box to box, number 10, he has attributes to well in any of those positions.

I think he would excel as either a box to box or further though. I know we line up on sky as a 4231, but we don't play with 2 pivots anyway, matic is usually deeper than cecs and it is effectively a 433 or 451.

He would fit in quite nicely to the current set up, and he would be a quality addition, but I wouldn't want to lose oscar in any deal.
