Chris Foy was marvelous for Villa, honorable mention to the linesman who did the Villa end for the first half who was also in stellar form giving multiple incorrect offsides whenever we got in behind.

But in all seriousness I think Oscar had a good game, Matic was good in the first half and Dave and Iva were solid.

I'l give it to Iva just because he looked like he gave the most f**ks when we were down to 10/9 men.

Hazard was the only one of the attacking players who showed up today.

Matic did well in parts but overplayed it at times and crucially missed the tackle which led to the Villa goal.

So once again it has to be Azpi who was again solid throughout and didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

Oh, and Foy is a c**t.

I thought he was quiet lazy in attack today. He played some clever passes but there were times where he was 1 on 1 with the full back and i was shouting for him to take him on and he wouldn't do it, he just played a 5 yard pass to the side. He's got on of the best first touches, dribbling abilty and tight ball control in the world, he shouldn't need to pass it to side all of the time.

We have got to get at these defenders, we give them far too much time to organise.

I'd have to disagree. Sure, he didn't take on the defenders as much as he sometimes does but he won't all the time and has to vary it. Still created more than all the others put together. Willian (who should have come off on the hour mark, if not earlier), Oscar and Scurrle all did little between them.

Torres for me he showed why we must not sell him ever .Just don't get it we had a chance to keep city at bay if Liverpool win tomorrow they will start to believe .?

Willian. Tried his guts out for the team. Took a hammer blow in the 1st minute and the ref give him the 2nd. should have been on the winning side but thats football keep trying like that and we will win the league.

Azpilicueta for me, I thought Bacuna was having a good game for Villa but Dave still managed to do most things right, his curling outside of the foot ball into the path of Torres who was wrongly flagged offside with only the keeper to beat was a joy to behold as well.

If the linesman didn't flag for offside that would have been one of the passes of the season.

i agree with everything except for Oscar, i thought he had a poor game, especially for his standards. He looked much better during the first half of the season.

Thought we were solid in defence but a bit rubbish going forward. Don't recall us creating much. I'd pick Hazard if pushed. Easier to pick out our worst man of the match. Take a bow, Fernando. Sheesh. That was some crap impersonation of a footballer.

Torres for me he showed why we must not sell him ever .Just don't get it we had a chance to keep city at bay if Liverpool win tomorrow they will start to believe .?

Not looking to attack you personally but please explain how you think this when he lost the ball every time it was vaguely near him

I thought most of the team looked rather lethargic yesterday. I think fatigue is starting to set in because some players haven't been rotated enough. Was so painful to watch. I mean, we dominated in possession, but Torres was misfiring all game.

My man of the match was Chris Foy for Aston Villa. How that w**ker is still allowed to officiate London club matches let alone Premiership football is beyond me.

I mean, Willians first yellow I agreed with as he didn't make contact with the ball, his second... Laughable. Shouldn't have stood. Really torn over Ramires' straight red though. He was running full speed and the player just slid in under his feet. Could he have avoided contact? Who knows. As for Jose being dismissed, wasn't Paul Lambert stood right next to him? How come he wasn't dismissed aswell?

If that joke of a ref isn't investigated by the FA for misconduct which could be construed as match fixing, then they are just as crooked as he is.

Ivan for me.Foy was right on one sending off, wrong on the other and the linesman was a halfwit who needs to study the offside law.Not a game we should have lost but it happens.I thought Torres was poor.Lets bounce back COME ON YOU BLUES!

Matic for me. Half a dozen game in and he looks irreplaceable. Our best midfielder by a trillion miles.

Dave for sure but our energy levels were way down. We normally finish games strongly but yesterday we looked totally knackered.

Top 4 and a good CL run will do for this season
