Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Thought Costa looked a good team player tonight. Hope he does the same in bigger games where he passes to someone in a better position, rather than shooting from an acute angle.

/\ another reason we need another centre forward! Costa's a hothead

Yup. No chance he will go the season without sitting out a few games

His acceleration is impressive. I honestly expected him to be a bit slower.

Likewise. He doesn't look like he has bags of pace but he is very quick off the mark.

Wasn't a fan when he signed, but I'm glad I saw some positives yesterday.

He's fast of the mark, he makes good runs and he looks smart on the ball.

The only things that worry me are his topspeed, his technique at times and the fact he can be a hothead.

I think our season will rely on him.

People underestimate us as a team, we can produce chances, but it was hard to do that when Torres was leading the line. If Costa fits in I really think we can grab the title this time like we could have done last season.

Massive fan already. His movement is absolutely superb. Good technique, good in the air and puts in a shift. And he's still young enough to improve.

There was a moment in the game when he was surrounded near the touchline and he conceded a throw-in. He immediately gave Azpi an earful for not offering support. That is more pleasing to me than anything else really.

Lucky he's never played with Benayoun then.

His technique is alright dunno why people are complaining about it.

Because he's big, therefore he can't have any sort of technical ability or pace.

He was as quick as I had hoped, quite pleased.

1 goal and 2 assists in less than 2 games is pretty sweet. Albeit just pre-season.

Curious to see how Mourinho develops him and his temper.

Maybe Drogba was brought in for him (rather than Lukaku) amongst other reasons because I truly think Drogba will have plenty to offer before this next season ends.

...and because theres no 'Costa - Skills' video on youtube ;)

I love the way hes off as soon as we win the ball

Torres should follow him but just keep on running down the Fulham Road........ :128:

He's built like a brick s***house and will upset a lot of defenders in the same way Tevez did. A forward you can't get the ball off without conceding a free kick is a great asset in PL

Seems the squad is pleasantly surprised with his technique and ability which is great news.

Hopefully he and Cesc can continue the good link up play during the remaining pre season games, these 2 players will be hugely important to us.

Really looking forward to seeing this guy in a competitive match.

Although, the press will be after him at the first available opportunity. I think if he is only suspended for 5 matches of the season it will be a success
