Eto'o To Stay?

Featured Replies

he looked pretty ropey for the early part of the season but has got sharper for as its got on. i dont think theres any doubt we need a new striking lynchpin for next season, but how would we all feel feel about samuel getting another guernsey.

I was thinking today we should look to hold on to him, seems a waste that he has got up to speed and then to of load... he would be a very good guy to come of the bench

Eto'o, Lukaku and Costa.

There would be a strikeforce to fear, great variety in their styles as well.

It was no surprise it took him a while to shake of the rust after plying his trade in the Russian league but I think he's a good player to have around, an experienced head, good movement and a poacher that can link up play as well as hold the ball up.

Be a great third choice striker or battler for second choice next season.

Hat trick against Utd, winner against Liverpool, scored against Arsenal and Gala

Not bad for a free. Seems to really enjoy playing here as well

my feelings too. he was obviously rusty after a couple of seasons in the russian league, but theres some class and clinical finishing there that for wage with no fee surely makes sens as a squad player that offers a real threat.

Yep absolutely, obviously depends on what we do in the summer but has had a fairly decent first season in the prem as long he accepts not being first choice

Keep him for another season, he has been our best striker we shouldn't let him go if we have a chance to extend his contract for another year.

Hopping into the boat as well.

If he wants to hang around for another year he's more than welcome to. He's been a great transfer thus far and he can probably teach the fledgling Lukaku a thing or two. If he doesn't mind being the 2nd or 3rd choice CF he's more than welcome to hang around, he's grown on the fans as well.

I would let him leave personally, he's much improved in the 3nd half of the season but I would like to see Lukaku come back and have a chance with a new striker coming in as well.

Brilliantly taken goal by Eto'o today though.

Assuming we sign someone like Costa as 1st choice, and have Lukaku as 2nd choice. Eto'o as 3rd choice if it's willing to stay would be great, but he will hardly play. Ba uis 3rd chouce now and look how few games he's had.

I'd keep him, get rid of Torres and Ba, keep Lukaku and get Costa in. We'd finally have a strikeforce that competes with City and Liverpool's. However, you also have to keep in mind the wage he's on and at his age with him being 3rd choice striker is it viable? Also, will he be happy being 3rd choice? He could easily go to America to retire and still earn over 100k a week while playing every week.

But yes, a Costa, Lukaku and Eto'o strikeforce makes me moist.
