I think what you meant to say was that Luis couldn't take the spot from Azpiliqueta, one of the best fullback in the world. That Luis struggled to get into a side that probably contained the best defence in all of Europe.

I have to respectfully disagree. There were over 30 games played in all competition. Over 30. There are enough games to give Luis a decent run but JM did not. As usual he stuck to his preferred trusted one and the same is happening again.

 

Ditto KDB. I am not going to blame the board for selling him. Going by the same logic - We had a lot of midfielders who were also better than KDB and hence he could not get playing time. And why did KDB leave? Playing time. If you are board and you see that Mourinho has no plans to play KDB and KDB wants to leave and get a chance to play and there are other teams willing to pay good money for him then it makes logical sense to sell him and make some profit on KDB.

 

Wasn't it the same reason why Schrulle was sold? He could not defend although he could attack ? And slowly started losing him place in the first 11 ? 

 

We have a decent squad and the manger needs to concentrate on the football and try to sort the issue rather than blame circumstances and lack of transfer. We have a stadium that is going to be improved that will need lots of money. This is a perfect opportunity for JM to prove that he is not a cheque-book manager. The questions is can he be the manager that Chelsea fans want him to be.

Tbh if Jose begged the board not to sell KDB then he was being silly. You don't play him, didn't talk him 4 months prior to his leaving, World Cup was around the corner the player knows he needs to play to make it, what do you expect him to do?

It's another Jose tactic to deflect blame from himself to someone else. If how Mourinho introduced KDB to the team shows he didn't want him, then Mourinho clearly didn't want Zouma either as he was treated exactly the same if not worse in his first 6 months. But don't let the fact that Zouma is now a regular starter get in the way of believing KDB never had a chance.... I understand why KDB felt that way, but history clearly has shown Mourinho has a way of brining youth into the team and KDB was going through that timely process

To be honest if I was De Bryune and I was told Oscar was being played over me I'd ask to leave aswell. 

I'm surprised too. As the title suggests, he is a very frustrating player. He can't pass for sh*t, but I keep thinking back to the CL semi against Barca and think he can't be THAT bad if he can pull off a ridiculous chip like that...

LoL you are hillarious. Pretty sure Lyis was equally benched for Ivan, a player who clearly showed last season he was declining as a defender. Mourinho didnt fancy playing him and as a consequense he wanted to leave.

KdB left because of Mourinho, nobody else. Why would the board sell someone against the wishes of the manager? Makes zero sense. Mourinho even came out with his own "justification"

Slightly concerned where this leaves Mikel, his contract is up in 2017 and I can't see us keeping both Ramires and Mikel.
