August 1, 201411 yr Could turn out to be a Mourinho master stroke. Drog's assists are not often mentioned, but he has the sweetest feet of any striker I've ever seen, and his crossing is second to none. Hopefully he won't be our corner taker again though-whose idea was that FFS?
August 7, 201411 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28693726 Selected quotes from John Terry on Didier Drogba: "Didier's still the same. He's been a nightmare to play against in training. He's still strong, sharp and hungry." "It's important Didier is here because he brings that mentality of wanting to win every day. That rubs off on people like Kurt Zouma and the other young players." And more generally: "It's time for these players to continue to keep winning trophies for this club and keep the fans and owner happy. If I was a Chelsea fan I'd be impressed from what I have seen so far from Diego, Cesc, Filipe and all the boys that have come in like Kurt as well." Edited August 7, 201411 yr by Hazardous

August 8, 201411 yr Probably because he's a decent striker who used to pad his goal tally while at Bayern
August 8, 201411 yr Wow, if only Sheva was half decent for the years with us, he would have easily leading the chart.
August 8, 201411 yr Sheva actually hit 9 goals in the CL that season (and 19 in Serie A) which made his demise all the more puzzling
August 8, 201411 yr Sheva actually hit 9 goals in the CL that season (and 19 in Serie A) which made his demise all the more puzzling Sheva from memory had some really wonderful close ball control skills, he just lacked the pace to keep up with the play in England. But he was still far better than Torres has been for us (sorry Nando)
August 8, 201411 yr I really hope this move works for us, but i am far from convinced, and would much rather have seen a young up and coming player take our second/third place spot.
August 8, 201411 yr DROGBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA He will score goals, and every one will be celebrated like Christmas for me.
August 8, 201411 yr DROGBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA He will score goals, and every one will be celebrated like Christmas for me. Here Here Zola. Blokes a legend and still got lots to give.
August 8, 201411 yr He also brings a defensive capability, he is a fantastic headers of the ball when defending set pieces.
August 8, 201411 yr Here Here Zola. Blokes a legend and still got lots to give. He is a legend and will be handy to have around but I really don't see him playing much of a part. I see his position as similar to Lamps at Man City and he'll get minutes when called upon but don't expect to see too much of him.

Though if we need goals I've a feeling José would rather put him on than torres alongside Costa, it could work well as a partnership.
August 8, 201411 yr Yeah Drogba won't be seen very much IMO unless Costa get's an injury or suspended. When I saw him last year he looked a far cry from the Drog we had before which is understandable for a man reaching 37 years of age. I'd rather him than Torres though although that doesn't say very much these days.
August 8, 201411 yr Well I hope we don't chase too many games then during the season because everytime we do Drogba needs to come on.
August 8, 201411 yr I think Drogba will surprise a lot of people with how much gas he has left in the tank.
August 8, 201411 yr I think Drogba will surprise a lot of people with how much gas he has left in the tank. Hmm not going by what I seen last year and English football is much quicker than the Turkish league.
August 8, 201411 yr Hmm not going by what I seen last year and English football is much quicker than the Turkish league. Based off the game against us? Well we are the best defence in the league.
August 8, 201411 yr Based off the game against us? Well we are the best defence in the league. No. The game against us their entire team were pretty poor. I'm talking in the league. I'd still take him over Torres but in a title race and CL season we need more than a 36 year old striker as back up.
August 8, 201411 yr You cant judge him on the game against us! It was like a testimonial for him... he was laughing and joking throughtout the whole game. If he manages to get us an extra 10 goals i think eveyrone will be pleased and to be fair its more on what he will bring to the dressing room and it looks like he will be joining the coahing team after this season.
August 8, 201411 yr officially retired from international duty which will help us. glad we wont lose him to the ACON!
August 8, 201411 yr That's a bonus but I always thought this was the case otherwise we wouldn't have brought him in.
