I posted earlier this week that Martinez at Everton might become the next big story: they are creating few chances whilst, at the back, they are performing as you'd expect a Martinez-managed team to. A defeat today would be four losses on the trot and fans are going to worry then.

Not saying signing Lukaku was a mistake because he's done well so far but that money could have been put to better use by replacing their center backs. Apart from Stones they are all old and actually pretty awful.

It brings some perspective to Everton's last season. It did seem, after last season, that Moyes may have been too cautious at Everton but Martinez inherited a sound squad and perhaps this season is a fairer reflection of his (Martinez's) team.
