Coutinho is good, but very inconsistent. We have enough of those types already, and oscar could be absolutely world class if he pulled his finger out more often.

Exactly. From what I have seen recently, Coutinho is causing teams problems every game - more than can be said for any of our three. They all need to step up a few gears.

I wouldn't mind at all if Gerrard got a medal on his birthday (have you heard it's his birthday on FA Cup final day? It's mean mentioned once or twice by a few media outlets) as long as it's a runner's up one.

it's only early february and the gerrard campaign on sky is in full swing...in the space of just a few mins, I saw a nauseating trailer promoting the coverage of everton v Liverpool derby this weekend and it was all about how it was his last one, interview with dimwit in red shirt combined with gerrard montage (isnt this game more important for both clubs rather than just one man)...then into sky sports news lead and it was all about how gerrard's dream of winning the fa cup on his b'day is alive...oh ffs...it's like last season all over again and I hope every team they face, knocks them out/beats them etc

David Luiz Official facebook page has 8m more likes than Manchester City's Official page and 1m more than Liverpool. LMAO

You don't mean Hazard? Surely not? Hazard is much better than Coutinho and even on his off days he still manages to cause teams trouble.

Oscar and Willian yes I can definitely agree, they need to have more of a consistent impact in games, Willian we barely get any, Oscar needs to put more sharp performances in.

Coutinho is also a luxury player, Hazard can be fancy but Coutinho wants to try everything, if you watch him on match of the day he might look amazing, but if you watch him play a full game you'll see how many times he loses the ball and the silly decisions he makes. But with all that being said he is a very good player.

No!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course NOT Hazard. I was talking our 3 Brazilians - Oscar, Willian and Ramires. As I said, although Ramires and Willian are different type of players, I would still take Coutinho ahead of all 3 right now. Cannot imagine the current Brazil coach would be leaving Coutinho out as old Scolari did in the World Cup. Oscar is great on his day and does a lot more defensive work but I would like to see anyone of our 3 go past defenders for fun like Coutinho is currently doing. It would sure take some pressure off Hazard (hopefully that's what we'll see from Cuadrado).

Ralph Little isn't too impressed:

Royle Family actor Little, who lived with Carlisle for a brief period of time when he played for QPR, took to Twitter on Tuesday night to have his say. “‘Oh dear. Looks like Clarke Carlisle’s going to get away with it - AGAIN. #Teflon #nonstick,” before adding: “Seems people want context about previous tweet. So let me say, I know the full story and it’s not what’s portrayed in the media. That’s all.”

“I don’t feel sad for Clarke any more, I was drained of that some time ago. Of course I wish Clarke a strong recovery – and not just from the crash. It would be a better world if he and all other sufferers of such an insidious disease could find a way to fight the good fight. There comes a point where it’s just frustrating to witness someone constantly hammering the pattern of destruction for those around - and I was once one of those around - only to see the destructive force make a moving and sincere apology … then do it again.”

It's funny how everyone at City always mentions how they've been behind teams before yet gone on to win the title, but conveniently forget the 2012/13 season where they were a similar amount of points behind United now and the gap only got bigger and bigger as the season went on.

I know a title is a title and we as a club are long overdue to win one ourselves but City, in my opinion, for all the money they have spent, have yet to win a title convincingly.

Really good sides break away from the pack, break records etc, I don't think City have done that yet and that's what they're probably striving to do.

You look at our title wins and we set records for the fewest goals conceeded in a league season, set a record for longest undefeated streak, set a record for most goals scored in a season.

I don't think Kompany saying "we've been chasing before" is a badge of honour, it highlights the failings of those teams they chased, hopefully we don't fall into that category this season.

Anyone seen the pictures of AC Milan's proposed new stadium?

They're planning to move away from the city run 80,000 seat San Siro and build a new 48,000 seat stadium of their own.

Doesn't surprise me attendances in Italy are so low teams must be pouring money away.

Have I read that wrong or was crashing into a lorry his suicide attempt? If so then why potentially have another victim? I know people throw their selves in front of trains but that’s going to cause more trauma to the driver than anyone else, an innocent victim. I have a family member who suffers from severe depression so I know a small bit about it and can see how it affects them… so I know rational thinking can sometimes completely escape you but I still can’t help but think the selfishness to ruin someone else’s life can be avoided, these suicide attempts are not often done a whim, they’re carefully thought out, depressed or not.

Sigh, I prepare for the onslaught, I’m not a very sympathetic person.

My Aunt chucked herself in front of a Lorry on the A3 back in the 70's she was a bona fide nutter on day release from Cane Hill, a now defunct Asylum. She survived as well so it seems a rather inefficient way of topping yourself (see also the documentary about the 2 Swedish sisters, who did it, you can find it on you tube and its one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen)

Getting back to Carlisle I feel as though any sympathy I might have for him is diluted by his vociferous outrage of John Terry, and the way he milked it before the case had even got to court,  so maybe I, too, come across as uncaring.

I felt terrible for Gary Speed and his family, but somehow I get the feeling that there is a lot more to Carlisle's case than just mental illness (although of course I accept that he must have some serious problems) And Ralph Little's comments have got me intrigued. Its hard to feel sympathy for someone who comes across as such a tw*t, in short I am a bad person who is going straight to hell for not caring a jot about Clarke Carlisle.

It is also Carlisle`s 5th conviction for drink driving, so I am sorry I have zero sympathy for him after this latest thing. I saw my dad go though depression and it almost destroyed him, but he didn't once put other peoples lives at risk, either through drink driving or attempting to commit suicide and endanger a truck drivers life. Is it right he is also selling his story to the Sun? I realize every form of depression will be different, but my Dad hid away from the world, and my mate who had a lesser form also wanted nothing to do with anything. The last thing they wanted to do was publicise it.

Join the club then Shelly, at least we'll be warm in hell I suppose.

I find Carlisle an extremely unlikable character and struggle to have any sympathy for him.

Ralph Little's response was interesting - it seems harsh but who knows what's behind it.  Whatever the truth, I don't think things like that should be played out on twitter.

That documentary about the Swedish twins (Madness in the Fast Lane) is fascinating and well worth an hour of anybody's time.

Quite right but Little seems to be implying that by playing out his story in the media Carlisle is telling the story he wants to be heard rather than, possibly, a few unsavory home truths.

All Little has done is also respond publicly and sown that little seed of doubt in people's minds that might not make everyone so quick to sympathise with someone who maybe doesn't deserve it.
