March 9, 201511 yr Redcafe not pleased with Di Maria at all. Or Van Gaal. They seem to think Oliver had a terrible game, but I suppose that's expected since things went against them. Thought he was very good. Got most of the big decisions right.
March 9, 201511 yr Arsenal Liverpool final then Bradford did knock Arsenal out the League Cup don't forget ;)
March 9, 201511 yr Perhaps I'm only thinking this cos Chelsea aren't playing, but the referee actually seems competent?! Like he's actually making the correct decisions, especially in a pretty heated game from the start. You'd have to go all the way back to our last game for a comparable example. Fair play to Oliver for getting a tough game mostly right - Howard Webb-esque.
March 9, 201511 yr Yes he did well, but I think it says a lot that people everywhere, on social media etc, are praising him for just doing what a ref should do... Because the standard of refereeing in this country is awful. It's just a shock to see a competent ref, deny a United player a penalty in the dying moments in front of the Stretford End, and not talking any sh*t from that c*** Di Maria
March 9, 201511 yr How funny would it be Bradford knock out Arsenal the beat Liverpool from a Stevie G own goal in the final
March 9, 201511 yr I've seen that Joe Hart "headbutt" numerous times and all that happens is Oliver turns his head and makes contact with Hart without realising he's that close to him. He's not gone to headbutt Oliver at all, he's just standing too close. With Di Maria, there's clear intent. Quite an aggressive one at that. Spot on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nr8g0_cE1k0

Ok, maybe it wasn't a headbutt but Hart definitely puts his head into Michael Oliver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkaQ4YukJwU Michael Oliver turning his head doesn't give Joe Hart a reason to put his head in like that.
March 9, 201511 yr Am I the only one who wants Reading to beat Bradford? Sorry Hutts, think their anniversary may figure.
March 9, 201511 yr Am I the only one who wants Reading to beat Bradford? I'm relaxed about the contest apart from Liverpool; if they get knocked out then I'll not begrudge any team the Cup. An Arsenal - Liverpool final would be very tense.
March 9, 201511 yr yeah, he bottled it with hart. but it doesnt mean he should bottle it again just to show 'constistency' I never said he should.
March 9, 201511 yr Hats off to the ref for having the balls to book 2 United players for diving, at Old Trafford. For many years that was unheard of.
March 9, 201511 yr Sorry Hutts, think their anniversary may figure. Ah yes, fair point. I'm more in the 'Anyone but Liverpool' camp anyway.
March 9, 201511 yr Ah yes, fair point. I'm more in the 'Anyone but Liverpool' camp anyway. Same. I'd be fine with Arsenal retaining the FA Cup. They are pretty low on my sh*t list.
March 9, 201511 yr An Arsenal and Liverpool final.............it doesn't get any less interesting than that for me. They are my 2 most disliked clubs in the country. Gerrard getting a trophy before he leaves Liverpool, or seeing those Gooners happy ??????? Such a hard choice. A Bradford and Blackburn final would be brilliant but incredibly unlikely. March 9, 201511 yr Because the standard of refereeing in this country is awful. It's just a shock to see a competent ref, deny a United player a penalty in the dying moments in front of the Stretford End, and not talking any sh*t from that c*** Di Maria I know, but that's my point...praising A ref for spotting and punishing blatant dives is like praising a top pro for passing to a team-mate...but that's how rare a good display from a ref is these days
March 9, 201511 yr You'd have to go all the way back to our last game for a comparable example. Fair play to Oliver for getting a tough game mostly right - Howard Webb-esque. Webb would never have booked two players at OT for diving.
March 9, 201511 yr Funny how they didn't interview pug face. If it was Jose he'd never be allowed to escape
March 9, 201511 yr I never said he should. ok, but you appear to have a problem with his decisions tonight
March 9, 201511 yr I know, but that's my point...praising A ref for spotting and punishing blatant dives is like praising a top pro for passing to a team-mate...but that's how rare a good display from a ref is these days Yes. A sad state. Homer: "Just squeeze your rage into a bitter little ball, and release it at the appropriate time. Like that time daddy hit the referee with a whisky bottle. Remember Lisa, when I hit the referee?" Lisa: "Yeah..." Homer: "Yeah!"
March 9, 201511 yr Reading v Arsenal semi would be good. Last 3 meetings between teams has provided 24 goals including their last cup match at 7-5.
March 9, 201511 yr Take a bow Michael Oliver. A great refereeing performance. Should have booked Rooney though for all that chat.
March 9, 201511 yr So will all those arsenal fans calling for Wenger to go, change their minds? That is until next week when they go out of the champions league!
