Wilbeck diving against such poor opposition is embarrassing. This has got to be the easiest group England have ever been in.

Decent performances from some of the players tonight, still very slow and boring at times though. And once again, Baines fails to make an impact for England. How can he be so dangerous going forward for Everton but so poor going forward for England ? He can't seem to play a single dangerous ball for England. Clyne and Delph were pretty average tonight i thought too, maybe they just need time to adjust to international football. The rest looked pretty decent though. If Sterling can improve on his decision making and Welbeck on his first touch ( if he hasn't got his touch right yet in his career, he probably never will do ) then they can go on to be top players.

Watching Portugal - Serbia now. Portugal 2-1 up with goals from Carvalho (!) and Coentrao and from Matic (!) for Serbia. Matic's goal was a thing of beauty - a scissor kick at the edge of the small penalty box across goal, very similar to Mata's 2nd goal against Liverpoool.

 

Serbia really are dire - with so many good players at their peak just now (most of whom play in the PL), they really don't have an excuse for the type of performances they've been putting in.
