Scotland -v- England. 20:00 on 18/11/2014 at Celtic Park

Eton Blue at the Chelsea Megastore

It is a friendly but everyone who isn't English is backing the Scots and, to deny them the pleasure if nothing else, I hope we turn up and win.

It will not be easy. I can't see Roy playing a full strength team, his tactics will probably be cautious, Scotland are in a good run of form and Celtic Park will be a hostile environment.

Honour demands that we stick it to the Scots. C'mon lads!

so sad that the "must watch stop everything can't wait to see this " fixture since early childhood is now an afterthought played on a Tuesday night in November .............if ever there was a real victim of modern football ...this is the game , the best and oldest international derby in the world for over 100 years killed by respective FA's .

I agree with ForeverCarefree until they change who plays for England I have no interest  , Under 23's from any league with overage players from outside the premiership is the only way to gain back the English support .

Yep. The National team / system is in dire shape. Money is King and, for well-rehearsed reasons, England and the home internationals have suffered to keep the product of the EPL a success.

It's not in me though to see England play Scotland and not want to watch and back us.

Never thought I would see the day I cared so little for this fixture.

I'm so bored and disillusioned by England now days, I haven't watched a game since the World Cup.

I'm just not interested or entertained by their games.

I guess it is good to see England actually forming a team for once than just picking star players based on form, that doesn't work as great as some think it does.

However I have also lost my passion for England it came around the time Roy Hodgeson took over to be honest, even though we were never particularly good it was good to see the golden generation, I always had high hopes. Now I can just never be bothered with them, no player I really want to see playing, Cahill I suppose but besides that not too bothered about them, if we lost this game years ago I would be furious but if we lost it now I couldn't give a sh*t.

Hodgson is a clown.

How on earth is he still managing us after that abysmal World Cup.

I reckon we'll lose tonight and then it'll bring the pundits back down to Earth. We've whipped some really awful sides and they're going on about us being a 'new' England. Sickening.

Shame that the home internationals got scrapped. They were always competitive and well attended by the fans from what I remember. A major plus point was at the time they were shown live on TV. I'm expecting a highly competitive game tonight which will make a pleasant change for a friendly.

Apologies if you already know this but it is being shown live on ITV tonight

Modern football didn't kill this fixture Tea Bar Boy. English football hooligans did. I was at the last Rous Cup game many years ago and the scenes in Glasgow that night were a disgrace. One of the great British annual sporting events destroyed by mindless thugs.

Well I do agree with a lot of the sentiment on this thread however these are both new young eras for both teams why not get behind it and make it special again for the new generation of football fans

The atmosphere is great and players look up for it

It was at the time I posted. It's died out since but it sounded like they were singing and thumping seats in time for about ten mins.

That aside, great atmosphere and pace to the game. Glad we are not being out-muscled.
