As a forum we're becoming completely obsessed with the dirty dippers and almost every thready somehow gets turned into a rat munching discussion.  Does anyone else think it might be a good idea to have one thread dedicated to laughing at the rat munching, thieving, stanley knife wielding, car stereo nicking, self righteous, victims from scouseland so that we don't have to reduce every decent discussion to one about them.

 

To be honest I'm sick of reading about them on every bloody page I open, put them in this box then I can just ignore it.

I've moaned about the about the amount of scouse talk in the past. It seemed to really kick off last season when people were panicking that they might win the title and it has never really stopped. It is funny watching their rapid descent back to their rightful place this season and I can understand why people want to make the most of it but I do tire of hearing about them and skim over certain threads as a result.

Agree, although I'm sure the mods wouldn't like 100 threads on them (like RAWK on us), maybe the "nearest and dearest" thread is too general. Maybe one "pinned" thread per rival would satisfy?

Also, Scouseland would be too general, as it would include good teams like Runcorn

I see where you're coming from but the beauty of the 'nearest and dearest' thread is the very fact that it is open to debate about all and everything to do with football, That is what drew me to this site, I love the in game banter on there, I also love the fact you can have more general and tactical discussions as opposed to only talking about a certain club. Arsenal and Liverpool forums both have separate threads for all of their rivals and in short they become threads for bashing those clubs which would make it uncomfortable for kids like me and Spud Lol The beauty about the 'nearest and dearest' thread is if or when you lot are all bashing City and Spurs, We can log off, go make a cup of tea, Watch some E4 and come back later when you have all calmed down, A dedicated thread to each rival doesn't offer that in my opinion because it at times can prolong the bashing.

I agree fwiw. The general N&D thread is fine and a Scouse-specific thread would drag us all down to the RAWK gutter.

Also, a Scouse thread accords them too much recognition. Last season, LFC were an unexpected shooting star, flaring across the night sky of the EPL. This season, they are a distant Sun, no different from the other fading giants of the firmament and hopefully bound for a black hole...err...

For myself, I will try in future to post about specific stories like Sturridge and not just to bash the club.

I agree that it would be a shame to have club specific threads but the complete obsession with this one club is almost becoming intollerable. I hate them at least as much as anyone else does but I don't have to go on about it constantly. For some people its almost a way of proving what a good Chelsea fan they are.

Its a shame we do this physically too, put all the f**kers in one place, save our ears from that horrible screaching they do.

Depends on the circumstances. We were seething when they were doing so well last season, getting jammy results and generally getting the luck of the (northern) Irish. They were probably taking the piss and having a good old chuckle over us.

That all changed when we beat them at Anfield with a 2nd string side and made them look like clowns. All of a sudden they were the laughing stock, Gerrard in particularly. And it's been that way ever since. :)
