Willian, his quick thinking to play in Ivanovic off the corner was the single most important moment of the match, ran his ass off until the final whistle too.

 

Costa and Oscar were also excellent (in the 2nd half).

Even though Cech made a couple of great saves in the first half, I must pick Costa. He scored a brilliant goal & almost another one & his effort in the second half was inmense.

I chose Zouma. Mainly because I felt that in a game where we were actually all over the place at the back in the first half he, despite being by far the least experienced player in our team, kept his head and did his job better than anyone else in the back four.

I don't think anyone did enough to deserve MOTM... but I'll go with Cech for keeping us in the game at 0-0

I'm going to have to choose Costa here. He fought hard and got dirty to win the ball and it turned out in a few great changes, and the 2-0 dagger.

For me was Cech he kept us in the game otherwise we would've been 2-0 by half time and maybe more

I went for chec. We can talk about match winning goals, but the 2 saves chec makes int he first half are match winning saves.... very much taken for granted just how good he actually is

Difficult one today, I thought Willian broke up play well and hassled them, with his quick thinking for the corner I can't see why he's getting stick, Zouma looked really assured and today JT looked like the new boy in the center compared to him, Costa second half was a different animal and hopefully this will be the start of a return to top form for him.

 

Shout out for Luis as well who although did nothing special didn't live up to the fear I had after watching Dave being skinned...

He hadn't fully recovered from the hand /thumb injury he got so there was no point risking him given how good the available replacement was.

For me it was Oscar. Goal & an assist. Good shout for Zouma and Willian.

Certainly hard to argue that Cech deserves to be dropped however I suspect he will be. It is very rare for goalkeepers to be rotated much and Courtois is clearly our future. I actually believe Cech is still the better keeper of the two, although only by a very small margin, however you can't overlook the age gap and the fact that goalkeepers of both their class come along very rarely. We really can't run the risk of losing Courtois which is why he is our number one choice.

I think cech is trusted more by the defence is more communicative.

Courtois has a big advantage defending indirect set pieces and crosses though.
